Chapter 177: William and Isabella's Internal Conflict
The next day.
Amelia arrived at the Adams Group at the time she had agreed upon with Jeffrey yesterday.
A bit earlier than her appointment with William.
Because she needed to discuss the Jenkins Group endorsement matter with Jeffrey.
Amelia first told Jeffrey about the recent new products.
That day when she went with York and Xyla, she only saw samples, and they were raw stones that hadn't been crafted yet.
"This batch of new products from the Jenkins Group is mid-to-high-end, which meets the resource requirements in the previous contract," Jeffrey agreed after listening.
Amelia thought so too.
She nodded and said, "The Jenkins Group told me they can give me a lot of freedom, so I have an idea."
"Go ahead," Jeffrey said.
"Bundle the new songs with this batch of new products from the Jenkins Group," Amelia said with a smile. "Not the kind where buying one forces you to buy the other, but each gemstone corresponds to a specific song. Combined this way, the promotional impact would be huge."
"But what if it backfires? What if we face resistance?" Jeffrey keenly noticed the flaw in this plan. "Isabella will definitely cause trouble."
"So we need to make a distinction," Amelia smiled. "The endorsement is the endorsement, the songs are the songs."
"In other words, Amelia is the one doing the endorsement, and Quiana is the one releasing the songs."
"What do you mean?" Jeffrey was very interested. Amelia was signed under the Adams Group, so if Amelia could make a lot of money, it would greatly benefit the Adams Group.
And even if the company gained no benefit, or even took a loss, it didn't matter—he would definitely help Amelia.
Just as Amelia was about to explain, there was a knock on the door.
"Mr. Adams, the people from the Brown Group are here," the assistant said.
"Take them to Conference Room One," Jeffrey said.
Amelia looked at Jeffrey and said, "Go meet with them first. I'll tell you later, though I think you'll figure it out without me saying anything."
Jeffrey felt very excited. Every time he worked with Amelia, he felt his blood pumping.
These past few days, he had been keeping a close eye on Zaid, wanting to create some big trouble for him!
Unfortunately, Zaid hadn't made any concrete moves recently, so he had to wait a bit longer!
"Alright!" Jeffrey said excitedly, then handed Amelia the disguise items she had requested.
...
The air conditioning in Conference Room One was on full blast. Amelia and Jeffrey, both in disguise, walked in together.
Both were wearing doll costumes, so two people in frog doll suits walked into the room.
William and Isabella both found this scene strange.
"What are you..." Isabella asked, puzzled.
"The company is having an event today. You arrived early, so we rushed right over," Jeffrey explained, then removed his doll head.
Amelia beside him also tried to remove her headpiece, but it seemed stuck.
Jeffrey looked and said, "It might have been fastened too tightly earlier. We'll get someone to help you with it later. Just leave it on for now."
The company did indeed have an event, but it was specifically arranged to hide Amelia's identity.
Since William and Isabella had arrived early, it made the cover story even more believable.
Amelia beside him nodded.
Jeffrey looked at William and the other person. "What can we do for you? You specifically asked to see us."
Isabella looked again at the frog beside them and said, "We wanted to talk about Love in Micro."
Jeffrey waved his hand, signaling the assistants and others to leave, and they closed the door behind them.
Jeffrey glanced at the frog beside him, then said to Isabella, "Isabella, our company has already sent you a lawyer's letter. We've warned you, but you keep infringing. There's nothing to discuss."
This was the talking point Jeffrey and Amelia had just worked out together.
Isabella, however, didn't look at Jeffrey. She only looked at Quiana beside him.
"Quiana, what do you say?" Isabella looked at Quiana in the frog doll costume. A flash of calculation passed through her eyes, but it eventually turned into a pitiful expression.
She seemed sympathetic, seemed to sigh, "It must be hard being an artist at the Adams Group who can only sell songs, especially when the company is promoting someone else."
As soon as Isabella finished speaking, both Jeffrey and William looked at her.
But their reactions were completely different.
William frowned slightly, while Jeffrey jumped up from his seat, saying, "Isabella, what nonsense are you talking about!"
Isabella just smiled.
This smile carried a hint of guilt. "I used your credit, that was my fault. I'm sorry."
She stood up, bowed deeply, and continued, "I came today to completely resolve this matter. Yanshi and I want to give you some compensation and buy the rights to this credit, so this song completely belongs to me."
"I think you need some money."
Isabella smiled miserably, looking at the frog beside them, saying understandingly, "It's very hot, isn't it? Having to wear this doll costume to make a living must be really uncomfortable, right?"
Jeffrey looked even angrier.
"So, agree to my proposal," Isabella said in a considerate manner.
Amelia didn't speak immediately. Jeffrey beside her kept shouting, calling Isabella shameless.
He kept saying to Amelia, "Quiana, don't agree to her terms. The credit rights are yours to begin with, and nothing can change that."
Amelia looked out through the holes in the doll costume and saw Isabella sitting there with a confident expression, and William beside her, remaining composed.
Amelia coughed twice, pretending she had a cold.
"Mr. Brown, what do you say?" she asked in a hoarse voice.
Only then did William scan the frog up and down.
Inside this costume, no one could see who she really was.
William's mind flashed back to the scene from the last time he saw this woman.
But he still couldn't see her face. At that time, she had been wearing huge sunglasses and a mask.
The unfamiliar perfume scent on this woman seemed to have lingered from that day until now.
William frowned slightly.
But in the end, he said, "The credit rights issue is indeed an infringement."
"We can stop the infringement, but Quiana, you can't talk about this publicly."
The fake smile on Isabella's face disappeared. She frowned at William.
This wasn't what they had discussed before!
Amelia laughed and continued, "That's it?"
William frowned tightly, looking at her disapprovingly. "So, what's your idea?"
Amelia lowered her eyes slightly and said in a "hoarse voice," "My idea is different from yours."
"Just like Ms. Taylor said, I need money." Amelia smiled and said softly, "But not cash."
Not cash, so resources then?
William nodded. He said calmly, "That's negotiable."
But Isabella didn't agree. She looked at William with dissatisfaction and reminded him, "William."
But William only looked at Amelia in front of him, his attitude unchanged.
This made Isabella angry, but she didn't dare show it.
"Quiana, if you agree to keep quiet," she turned to Amelia, ignoring William's gaze, and said firmly, "why not choose to take more? After all, for you, the result is the same either way."
"Give me the credit, cooperate with me, and everything is negotiable," Isabella said.
