Chapter 162 Public Divorce, Not Everyone Treats William as a Treasure
Amelia looked up and saw Finn's smiling face.
"If you lose, you'll have to pay three times whatever amount is determined in the lawsuit to buy them back."
Amelia's eyes grew warm.
If they really went with William's suggestion of a lawsuit, the first trial alone could take 6 months, and then there would be a second trial.
Then came enforcement, handover, and more delays. If they really dragged it out, it could take a year or two.
Now, Finn was basically giving her a chance to quickly get back the Martinez family's things.
Amelia looked over at William, who was looking down at documents with an unreadable expression.
Finn understood what Amelia meant. He smiled and said, "Don't worry, I have the authority to make this decision."
Then he turned to Isabella.
"You want to marry William, right? I'm giving you a chance too." Finn said, "You've seen this agreement. If you win, the Brown family will accept you. If you lose, you apologize to Amelia publicly online, then get out of Shadow City."
"Considering your condition, I've set a three-month timeline, leaving you two months to hold a wedding."
Isabella was thrilled inside.
She had pushed William many times, but he kept hesitating, and recently after it came out that Lika was actually Amelia, he hesitated even more.
Plus Finn and Cleo had never liked her before. This was her official chance - if she won.
They were all looking through the agreement.
Amelia read it carefully.
Within three months, each would work on their own project.
After three months, under Finn's supervision, professionals would review and score each project, and whoever scored higher would win.
The scoring mainly looked at money earned, costs, project difficulty, etc., calculated as a weighted average, with return on investment being the most important factor!
And no cheating allowed.
For example, William and his friends directly buying flowers from Floral Haven would be cheating.
But normal flower supply sales from Floral Haven wouldn't count as cheating.
Same rules applied to Amelia.
Though Amelia didn't really have any way to cheat anyway.
"I've calculated it - you each have your advantages," Finn said.
He glanced at William and snorted coldly.
He knew William would definitely help Isabella, feeding her lots of flower supply contracts, so actually Amelia was at a disadvantage.
Isabella was obviously thinking the same thing.
Plus, she could work on both floral design and marketing at the same time.
She was good at marketing. Looking at the terms, return on investment was very important, and she had a perfect monetization channel.
Short dramas!
Flower supply required purchasing inventory and such, so the return rate wouldn't be too high, but short dramas were different!
She could market heavily, then charge in all kinds of ways to make more money!
Or go theatrical - the film company she was working with was already going through the application process, and William was helping push it forward too.
Theater box office had huge room for manipulation.
And she figured with her marketing skills, she could definitely get tons of people to buy countless tickets!
How much could Amelia make selling songs? Plus she wasn't some big star, not even a minor celebrity. Just a singer. Even with The Sound of Heaven champion resources, how much could she actually get in three months?
Theatrical films could easily make hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. How could Amelia possibly beat her!
"You only got where you are because of William. Now without him, let's see what you can do!" Isabella thought.
So she said, "I have no objections to this agreement."
Amelia also looked at the contract.
She calculated in her mind.
Although she had signed the contract for winning The Sound of Heaven, for many of those resources, she had to actually do the work first.
In three months, what she could actually accomplish would count as returns, and most importantly, she had to coordinate with partner companies' timelines.
This greatly limited what she could do.
But...
Amelia smiled. If that's how it was, then why not take the gamble.
She didn't believe she couldn't develop other resources!
Plus, she couldn't stand indefinite delays - delays created complications.
With that thought, Amelia also said, "I have no objections either."
Finn nodded.
The two signed.
William just stood to the side, looking down at them both.
She was really angry enough to be this determined.
He absolutely couldn't let her win.
Only that way could he keep her by his side.
Amelia quickly finished signing the contract, kept her copy, and handed the rest to Rhys.
"If there's nothing else, I'll head back now," Amelia said, then turned to leave.
But just before entering the elevator—
"Amelia." It was Isabella's voice.
Amelia paused slightly and turned around.
Isabella was striding over by herself, without William.
Amelia glanced at Isabella's wrist, which was wrapped in bandages.
Isabella stopped in front of her, looking completely confident of victory.
"I didn't think you'd actually dare to sign," Isabella sneered.
Amelia raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Trust me, you're going to lose badly!" Isabella said, smiling on the surface but with cold eyes underneath.
She said, "In three months, remember to come to my and William's wedding. I'll save you a prominent seat."
Amelia found it somewhat laughable.
Honestly, after deciding to leave William, she had long stopped caring whether he married Isabella or not.
If not for this bet, she might have actually said to them - "Congratulations on your wedding."
With that thought, Amelia said, "Not everyone treats William like a treasure."
"To me, he's just a passerby in life."
"Isabella, making yourself unrecognizable for a man is a pretty sad thing."
Amelia didn't want to say more. That was all. Finally she said, "If you like him, then hold on tight to him."
With that, Amelia walked into the elevator.
But as she turned to press the floor button, she saw William standing not far from them - she didn't know when he'd gotten there.
He was still holding a document, eyes slightly red as he looked at her, but said nothing.
She didn't know how much of that conversation he'd heard.
But whatever, it didn't matter anymore.
Amelia pressed the elevator button and watched the doors close, shutting William and Isabella outside.
The red floor numbers kept jumping.
Finally jumping to floor 1.
The elevator doors opened. Amelia walked out of the Brown Group with the documents in hand.
She was about to hail a cab when—
She saw York's Bentley waiting nearby.
Smiling, Amelia walked to his car and opened the passenger door to get in.
"I heard the Brown family was looking for you. Did he give you trouble?" York looked at her and said, "Is there anything I can do?"
Amelia just looked at him without speaking.
Thinking of what Isabella had just said, she felt something, rummaged through her bag, and took out the divorce certificate.
York watched her, waiting quietly.
Amelia took out her phone and photographed the inside page of the divorce certificate.
Then she edited and posted on her "Amelia" social media account—
Amelia: Happy divorce.
With a photo of the divorce certificate's inside page.
