Chapter 54: Are You Ready to Divorce Amelia?

Chapter 54: Are You Ready to Divorce Amelia?

As soon as someone stepped out of the villa, they were immediately surrounded by the crowd outside.

Camera flashes went off constantly, people pushed and shoved against each other, and the noise was deafening.

"Hello, could you tell us what just happened inside?"

"What happened at the inner venue today? Why could we hear all those cheers from outside, and what about those drones above the villa? Could you please explain?"

"Excuse me..."

Countless reporters were blocking everyone who came out, trying to get the latest news from them.

Many people coming out were completely dazed. Though they'd expected to be blocked—after all, this was pretty common—they hadn't expected so many people!

The entire area outside the villa was packed with people wearing all kinds of clothes, and there were even dogs!

"Woof woof!"

The dog seemed to notice someone looking at it and started barking loudly.

The camera flashes kept going off, making the whole area as bright as daylight.

This was the scene that greeted Amelia and Jeffrey when they came out.

Amelia's eyes widened behind her mask.

Before she could react, a large group of reporters surrounded them, some even with dogs on leashes.

The dog noticed Amelia looking and barked a couple of times.

"It's Lika!"

"Lika, what just happened inside?"

"Mr. Adams, what exactly happened at this charity auction dinner your company hosted? Why was there such a big commotion?"

...

Countless people crowded around. Jeffrey frowned and pushed people away, protecting Amelia.

Jeffrey pulled out his phone and called for security to come quickly.

Actually, security measures had been strengthened when things got noisy inside, even calling in people from other nearby locations.

But they were all stuck halfway.

And the villa was completely surrounded.

Jeffrey looked at this sea of people and nearly rolled his eyes.

"Get a helicopter to bring people over! Did you hear me! Get a helicopter here right now, it can land in the small garden on the third-floor terrace!" Jeffrey yelled into his phone while protecting Amelia.

He knew that once word got out about Lika and William bidding against each other inside, they'd be completely surrounded.

And at that moment, someone screamed—

"Got it, got it! William bid all the way for Isabella!"

"Also, Lika and William were bidding against each other, and a tanzanite worth $1 million was sold for $25 million!"

"Quick, Lika's here, I see her, come over here!"

...

Then, even more people surged toward Amelia like zombies.

Amelia and Jeffrey quickly tried to get back into the villa.

But it was too late—they were blocked from behind too, all people, and dogs.

"Woof woof woof!"

Just as Jeffrey was shouting angrily, suddenly—

"William's coming out! And Isabella's with him!"

"Over here, quick, get a good spot!"

"Block the door, don't let them back in!"

So countless people surged toward William and Isabella.

The people blocking this side gritted their teeth: "Damn it, I'm stuck with Lika, not William!"

Jeffrey was so angry he laughed: "If you want to block him, go over there, don't come here, what are you 'damn it'-ing about!"

The scene was complete chaos.

To restore order, the villa sounded a loud siren.

But it couldn't stop anyone.

William bid all the way for Isabella!

And there was that contestant from "Voice of Heaven," Lika, bidding against him!

There must be some huge gossip in all this!

But wasn't Lika standing next to Jeffrey?

So immediately someone asked: "Lika, why did you bid against William today? Is it because you have feelings for William? Then what does Mr. Adams mean to you?"

Jeffrey got angry. What did they mean "what does he mean"?

Like he was just some piece of trash.

When had he ever been insulted like this!

"If you can't ask proper questions, don't ask! Get lost!" Jeffrey snapped.

But no one paid attention to him.

They just let him rage helplessly.

Everyone's cameras, microphones, and flashes were all aimed at Amelia.

Amelia knew there was no way to leave today without saying something.

So she said: "I bid against Mr. Brown because that item was something I wanted, nothing more."

But people didn't believe her.

Jeffrey on the side just yelled: "Believe it or not!"

"Lika only saw William from a distance at 'Voice of Heaven' a few days ago. Except for that day, they haven't met or communicated at all these past days. And you can still make stuff up?"

That person immediately shot back: "Mr. Adams, are you angry?"

Jeffrey felt like hitting someone.

While chaos reigned on this side, on the other side.

At the center where even more people were blocking them, William radiated an icy aura that warned people to stay away. Also because of William's status and position, although people were surrounding them, no one dared to push too close, maintaining a certain distance.

William stood protectively in front of Isabella.

"Mr. Brown, we just received news that you bid all the way for Isabella and competed with Lika, finally winning the item for $25 million. Is this true?"

"Mr. Brown, was this an act of fury for a beauty?"

"Mr. Brown, by bringing Isabella to this charity auction dinner so publicly, are you announcing your relationship with Isabella?"

"Mr. Brown, with this behavior, are you preparing to divorce your wife Amelia?"

...

Question after question came, and William frowned slightly.

William didn't answer, but of course Isabella wouldn't miss this opportunity.

The reason she insisted on attending this charity dinner was for this very moment!

"William, let me handle this." Isabella looked at William "understandingly," then stepped out from behind him.

All the lights and cameras immediately focused on Isabella.

"Everyone." Isabella's face showed a proper smile with a hint of weakness.

"William and I came to this charity dinner together to contribute our love for sick children."

"As for high-profile or low-profile." She said, looking at each camera in turn with a light laugh, "Actually, whenever William appears, even being low-key becomes high-profile. There's no need to dwell on that."

"As for that tanzanite, yes, I did want to bid on it at first. Its estimated value was $1 million, but then William went all in and bought it for $25 million, really just to contribute to charity. Please don't read too much into it."

"I was the one who asked William to come with me this time, to help promote awareness for sick children, nothing else. Please don't speculate too much."

She smiled weakly and said: "After all, I'm already a dying person, just trying to do something meaningful with my last bit of energy."

"As for Lika, we just happened to like the same tanzanite. Please don't attack or criticize anyone over this."

Isabella spoke very gracefully, and after finishing, she even bowed to everyone.

But as she stood up, her body suddenly went limp, and she fainted.
