Chapter 28: A Heartbeat Moment, Deadly Attraction
In the personal lounge, the two helped the weak Amelia sit down.
"Sable, go get Lika some hot water." Jeffrey sent Sable away.
Only the two of them were left in the personal lounge.
However, there was still recording equipment here, and Jeffrey was her boss, so no bad rumors would come out of this.
"I didn't understand what Isabella just said." Jeffrey spoke first.
Amelia glanced at the recording equipment nearby, took out her phone, and sent a string of messages while covering it with her long coat, gesturing for Jeffrey to look.
Jeffrey took a look. It said—
[Isabella seems to think I'm your mistress. She came over and told me there's an obstacle in front of me preventing me from moving up.]
Jeffrey looked very confused.
He did want to keep Amelia, but she didn't have that intention, and he didn't dare bring it up.
Given Amelia's personality, if she knew about this, she'd probably cut off their partnership right away.
"Think about what you did to make her misunderstand like that." Amelia said.
Jeffrey thought for a moment, then suddenly understood.
He opened his mouth to say something, but Amelia patted him.
Jeffrey took out his phone and edited a long message under his coat.
[The other day when you missed rehearsal, I showed your medical records to the internal team. The content was real, but I covered up the name and changed the date to ten days ago. She probably saw it said miscarriage and thought you were pregnant with my child.]
Amelia nodded. So that's what happened. Everything made sense now.
Amelia looked at the live broadcast screen on the side.
The only sound in the personal lounge was the contestants singing on the live stream.
Jeffrey paused slightly, his eyes flickering a bit. He asked tentatively, "He came. Did you know?"
"I know." Amelia responded, looking unconcerned.
Jeffrey opened his mouth to say something, but in the end closed it.
……
Meanwhile.
The Bentley drove smoothly on the road, with William sitting in the back.
As usual, he held his tablet handling company business.
But when he casually looked up and saw the roses in the green belt, he suddenly remembered the masked woman on stage earlier.
Bright, beautiful, and talented.
In his memory, during his youth, only one person could match these words.
Rhys, sitting in the front passenger seat, saw William staring out the window lost in thought and asked with a smile, "Mr. Brown, was Ms. Taylor's performance at the recording good?"
"Not bad." William didn't look away.
"Haha, I knew it." Rhys held up his tablet and pulled up the content. "Everyone online is talking about it. Mr. Brown, you never watch these shows. This is breaking your rule for Ms. Taylor. Everyone is..."
Rhys was still talking, but William's thoughts drifted away.
It wasn't that he didn't watch entertainment shows.
He only watched Amelia's shows.
The Brown Group hadn't planned to get involved in the entertainment industry. It was his personal desire that led to establishing the relevant department.
But by then, Amelia had already signed with Jeffrey's the Adams Group.
Amelia had learned various instruments since childhood—piano, violin, guitar, and more. She had dabbled in them all, even mastered them.
Back then, he often stood on the balcony like a dark rat, spying on the happiness of Amelia's family of three.
William calmly watched the large patches of red roses flying past the car window.
He remembered that the young Amelia had a bold personality. Perhaps influenced by her mother, she loved wearing red dresses.
That year, Amelia wore a red dress, playing the violin among fallen leaves, her slightly curled long hair flying in the wind, paired with red maple leaves falling in the winter day. She captured the hearts of countless young men.
He was one of them.
When did she change?
William lowered his eyes slightly.
Perhaps it was because of the incident with the Martinez family.
Or perhaps it was because of her mother...
As for breaking rules.
William collected his thoughts.
In his life, he had broken rules too many times. He no longer cared about it.
……
The live broadcast of "Voice of Heaven" was still ongoing.
The internet had already erupted.
First was Isabella's performance of "Tiny Love" and its release.
On all major platforms, there were discussions about this song. At the top was a comment—
"It's so tear-jerking. Isabella's love for William, getting stomach cancer and about to die—this song simply sums up Isabella's whole life."
Below were many agreeing comments with heated discussions—
"Yes, after I understood it, I was shocked. This song is simply Isabella's destined song!"
"Don't you know this song was originally written by Isabella herself?"
"That's so amazing and talented. She just wrote a song, and she's not even a professional singer, yet she can achieve this level. That's something many people can't compare to!"
"The two professional singers before her couldn't outshine her talent. In my opinion, there won't be a better performance than Isabella's in this live broadcast."
"Agreed!"
"Everyone above, what you don't know is that in this world, the only one who can beat Isabella is Isabella herself. Go check out the latest trending topic!"
……
Gossip followers rushed to check the trending topics, only to see that besides #IsabellaTinyLove# and #WilliamBreaksRulesForIsabella#, there was a new trending topic rising—
#TinyLoveStudioDemo#
Clicking in, they could see this trending topic contained a recording sample.
You could tell at a glance it was a practice version from the recording studio.
Because it was sung very casually, and the recording wasn't very good—a bit blurry.
A gentle female voice sang slowly, moving people to tears.
After countless people listened, they commented—
"This is 'Tiny Love,' Isabella's 'Tiny Love,' but it feels completely different!"
"Yes, and I think this version has more feeling than the live performance and the version just released on all platforms!"
"I feel the same way, and I always feel the voice in this version sounds a bit different from the other versions."
"I just heard someone say this is the original version. Didn't you notice? The song title on this demo isn't 'Tiny Love' but 'Tiny Light.' This should be something she hummed casually before, and later when the release content was confirmed, she re-recorded it properly."
"But I still think this version sounds better. It seems to be played live too."
"Actually, I think so too, but this is normal. Didn't you hear this part is very blurry? She probably just had the feeling at that moment. Isabella isn't a professional singer, so it's normal for there to be differences between the formal performance and the practice version."
"Anyway, this is Isabella's original song, which means it's all sung by Isabella. All I can say is, Isabella is amazing!"
"Yes, Isabella is so talented!"
"The only one who can beat Isabella is Isabella herself!"
The internet was buzzing with discussion, but Isabella seemed to have no response because she was still recording.
So immediately, some people took action, finding someone to publicly ask Isabella about the studio demo trending topic during the live broadcast.
