Chapter 21 The Only Thing You Can Do Is Let Go of Amelia

William was driving, and outside the car window, the trees rustled loudly in the wind.
The weather forecast said there would be wind tonight.

William's hands gripped tightly. Looking at Dash standing outside the car window with a mocking expression, he said, "This has nothing to do with you."
"Of course it has something to do with me."
Dash leaned in slightly, both flippant and dangerous. "Mia said that because her fighting caused you to push Amelia down the stairs, she's going to give me to Amelia as compensation."
Dash smiled. "I think that's pretty good."
"Dash!" William's fists clenched tightly.

"If you like Isabella, then stay with Isabella forever. You shouldn't care about how Amelia is doing."

"William." Dash made up his mind and said seriously, "The only thing you can do now is let her go."
Just now, when the emergency happened and they needed someone to sign the critical condition notice, when the nurse came out to contact family, only Mia was waiting outside.
Jasper was gone, her mother was distant, so they could only look for William, her husband. But it was also William who had pushed Amelia down the stairs and left with Isabella.

She lifted her head and looked at Jeffrey.
She said, "I can do it."
"But there are only three days until the first live broadcast," Jeffrey said worriedly. "Your body..."
"I can do it." Amelia calmly repeated this sentence, her voice revealing no emotion.
But her fists under the blanket were already trembling from being clenched so tightly.
Jeffrey and Mia exchanged glances.
Finally, Jeffrey compromised. "Alright."
Hearing this, Amelia lowered her eyes slightly and released her fists.
"Thank you," she said softly.
Jeffrey shook his head.
"It's mutually beneficial. No need to thank me."
Jeffrey understood that with Amelia's abilities, as long as she performed normally, there would definitely be no problem.
Besides, the first live broadcast was just an appearance performance. The elimination system wouldn't start until the second round. There would be no problem with Amelia participating.
He just... felt sorry for her.
Amelia lifted her head and pulled the corners of her mouth into a smile.
She was telling them both that she was fine.
But everyone present knew she wasn't.
Unable to keep it up much longer, Amelia said, "Jeffrey, in my current state, I probably can't prepare my performance outfit and find a makeup artist myself. Can you help me?"
Jeffrey nodded. "That's the company's job."
"Can you go do it for me now?" she asked again.

Amelia looked at Mia again.
"Mia, I'm a bit hungry. Can you go buy me something to eat?"
Mia opened her mouth, not knowing what to say, just looking at Amelia with sadness.
Amelia smiled, looking at them both, and said, "Can you?"
Her voice already carried a hint of pleading.
The two exchanged glances, then both understood and agreed to Amelia's request.
They walked out of the hospital room and closed the door behind them.
After they left, the room fell completely silent.
The smile on Amelia's face slowly faded, and the falsely raised corners of her mouth gradually dropped.
It was April, but she felt a bit cold, so she shrank back under the blanket.
It was really cold. So cold that Amelia covered her head with the blanket.
Unable to control or hide her emotions any longer, she bit her fist until it bled, crying silently.
