Chapter 206 William Discovers the Returned Wedding Ring

Chapter 206 William Discovers the Returned Wedding Ring

"Can I kiss you?" York asked again.

Amelia's heart was racing.

His hand was still on her face. She could feel the heat from his palm and his warm breath on her cheek.

Amelia looked up at him.

"Okay," she answered.

Before her voice even faded, his kiss was already upon her.

Carrying his scent, their breaths mingled together.

Two hearts beating as one.

This was the scene William saw when he arrived.

She was sitting in the passenger seat, York leaning over her, kissing her passionately.

Her hand rested gently on his shoulder, her delicate arm forming a stark contrast with York's tall frame.

William was furious.

But as soon as he got out of the car, he was restrained by someone.

York's people.

They took him away directly, not letting him interrupt.

The Maybach was driven away too.

Meanwhile, in the Bentley.

York had already released Amelia.

Amelia felt a bit shy. Her hand rested on his shoulder, her forehead against his chest, breathing softly.

York chuckled quietly, his chest vibrating, which made her even more embarrassed.

He seemed to sense her mood, so he gently stroked her hair and patted her back.

"Amelia, I really like this," his voice was sexy and husky.

The kiss at the Jenkins Villa entrance before had been just a brief touch. This was their first real kiss.

He had still tried to control himself, worried she might be scared.

At this moment, he finally confirmed that when she said yes, it wasn't to spite William, but because she was truly moved by him.

This made him overjoyed.

If there was a progress bar, he wished he could immediately fast-forward to their wedding.

But he had to control himself, couldn't rush things.

At least now they were boyfriend and girlfriend.

After waiting a bit longer, Amelia pushed him.

Only then did York let her go.

"I need to go back," she mumbled.

"Okay," he answered with a smile.

Before she could say anything else, he continued, "I can't walk you up today."

Amelia looked up at him blankly, then understood, her face turning slightly red.

She pushed him back to his own seat and huffed softly.

Without saying more, she unbuckled her seatbelt, grabbed her bag, and got out of the car.

However, as she was about to go upstairs, she still leaned back in and said to him, "Drive safely."

He nodded with a smile, "Good night."

"Good night," Amelia said, then turned to go home.

Only after seeing the lights in her place turn on, and seeing her wave at him from the balcony, did he flash his headlights in response before driving away.

As the Bentley passed William and his Maybach, York glanced coldly at William, then without a word, drove off.

William was absolutely furious.

But more than that, he felt a deep sense of helplessness.

Everything he had was collapsing.

If what she said at the Jenkins Villa entrance, her kissing York, could possibly have been to spite him, then just now, their kiss in the car was from the heart.

She really didn't want him anymore.

She was really with someone else now.

William could no longer fool himself.

His chest ached dully, his entire world was collapsing.

"Let me go," William said.

York's people still didn't release him.

"I won't go looking for her," William said.

He knew there were people at the entrance too; he had already seen them.

To stop him, York had sent many people over.

Only then did the person holding him let go.

William got back in his car. He had an impulse to tell her everything regardless of the consequences.

But that scene from the past appeared before his eyes again.

In the end, he still controlled himself.

He turned the car around and left.

The Maybach sped along. William didn't know where he was going.

He just felt his heart painfully throbbing, as if someone was constantly tearing at it, making it hard to breathe.

Tears kept falling. He had never been this miserable before.

One phrase kept repeating in his mind—"She doesn't want me anymore."

She really didn't want him anymore.

He had never felt this fact so acutely before.

He felt like he was going crazy.

The Maybach drove on, and William didn't know where he was headed.

When he finally looked up, William realized the car had stopped at Emerald Haven, their marital home.

The scene of her marrying him appeared before his eyes again.

The white wedding dress, her beautiful smiling face, her eyes full of him.

William opened the car door and walked into the villa.

He turned on the lights.

But the house was empty inside.

Everything she had carefully decorated for this home had been taken away by her. Only his things remained.

William closed his eyes in pain.

What appeared before him was their wedding night when they returned here. The others had tactfully left. He had carried her to the kitchen and placed her on the counter.

"Want something to drink?" he asked with a smile.

"Sure," she answered with a smile.

He took wine from the fridge and poured her a glass. She took it and drank a sip with a smile.

Then he kissed her, tasting her and the wine.

William walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Now only some of his wine remained inside.

He sadly closed the fridge.

He walked back to their bedroom.

That day had been the same—she had shyly hit him, but he didn't care, just held her and carried her all the way to their bedroom.

William turned on the light.

The bedroom now hadn't been lived in for a long time.

He lay alone on the big bed, staring at the pale ceiling, never before so acutely aware that he was truly alone.

Tears flowed from the corners of his eyes. He suddenly felt very panicked.

If she married York, would she do everything they had done together with York...

He suddenly felt very scared, his heart racing, a feeling of near-death, uncontrollable.

It took him a while to calm down.

But this had already exhausted him.

In extreme sadness, he felt a dull numbness.

Finally, he wiped the tears from his eyes and sat up weakly against the headboard.

He looked at the lamp beside him, turned it on, then casually opened the drawer.

There was something in the drawer.

William frowned slightly and reached inside.

The first thing he pulled out was a bottle of perfume.

One he had given her before.

He opened the cap and sprayed it. It seemed to be her scent still lingering here.

His heart started aching again.

He closed his eyes and painfully placed the perfume on the nightstand.

There was still something in the drawer. He reached in again, and then he touched a small ring-shaped object.

He took it out and looked at it.

The wedding ring he had given her reflected a cold light under the lamp.
