Chapter 178 The First Date with York

Chapter 178 The First Date with York

Amelia looked at Isabella and smiled. "Why do you think I would choose to keep quiet?"

Isabella looked like she'd been hit over the head with a club.

"What?"

William, who was standing nearby, also frowned at Amelia. Was she playing games with him?

After all, hadn't she just said she needed money, which meant she was going to compromise?

Amelia just looked at them calmly.

"Some things can't be fixed with a casual 'sorry' after you've done them."

Her voice was "hoarse."

No matter what the original intention was, what difficulties existed, harm was done.

"I won't sell the rights to authorship," Amelia said. "If you insisted on this meeting, then this is my answer."

Seeing Isabella about to say something, she smiled and said, "You were the ones who forced me to sell you the song in the first place."

"And."

She paused slightly, looked at Isabella, and continued, "I didn't force you to infringe on copyright."

With that, Amelia stood up and headed for the door with a smug-looking Jeffrey.

"Quiana." William's voice came from behind.

But Amelia didn't turn around.

"I hope you think this through," his voice continued from behind. "You have good talent. If this matter can be resolved smoothly, the Brown Group can promise to invest resources in developing you."

But Amelia just strode out of the conference room.

Isabella watched Amelia, so angry her face was twisted.

Quiana was just seeing their disagreement and trying to get more!

And William!

Isabella glared at William.

What was wrong with him!

"Let's go back," William said.

Isabella masked her expression and made herself appear wronged.

"Don't do the short drama for now. I'll introduce you to other projects," William said. He watched Quiana's back—what exactly did this Quiana want?

Isabella didn't agree.

Perhaps for William, any project would do, but the short drama was different for her.

Only if the short drama was successfully released, only if it was a huge success, could she completely suppress Amelia and make the Brown family accept her.

She had to think of a way.

On the other side.

"If you want to destroy someone, first make them crazy," Amelia explained to Jeffrey.

People only truly believe in things they've obtained with their own hands, using all means and great effort.

Getting something too easily makes them suspicious instead.

Amelia took off her mascot costume and looked at the sky outside.

"What are you looking at?" Jeffrey asked while taking off his mascot costume, looking at her bright profile.

"The weather is nice today," she said.

Perfect for her first arranged meeting with York.

Jeffrey also looked up at the sky and nodded. "Indeed it is."

......

Later that evening, Amelia specially wore a blue dress.

At that moment, York's car stopped downstairs from her rented place.

Then, under his nervous yet hopeful gaze, she got in his car, and they headed toward the port area together.

"I was a bit worried just now," York admitted honestly when they reached their destination. "Afraid you'd change your mind."

"How could I?" Amelia smiled at him.

She was really looking forward to it.

They got out of the car and went to the dinner restaurant together.

At the port in the evening, the sun was setting, the blue sea meeting the orange sky—it was beautiful.

The place they were eating was a bit further in.

This was a place York had prepared for a long time.

The two of them walked in while chatting.

They didn't notice that in the shadows, reporters who had been staking out were constantly taking photos.

"I heard before that York booked a restaurant to pursue a mysterious woman. Finally caught them—take more pictures!"

"Right, disguise yourself later, pretend to be staff and go in to shoot. Make sure to get the woman's face!"

......

On the other side, Amelia and York took a winding path to a very secluded restaurant.

The restaurant had a section above the sea and a section below the surface.

He led her down.

Outside the transparent glass was a romantic underwater seascape, with various schools of fish swimming leisurely by. Finally, they arrived at their dining area.

Just as they sat down, Amelia noticed several small fishes stopped by their window.

York was saying something to the head chef, while Amelia curiously reached out and touched the glass beside her.

Then those small fish seemed startled, wagged their tails, and swam away.

York noticed this.

He first waved his hand to dismiss the waiter, then looked at her.

"Give me your hand," he said.

Amelia thought for a moment and extended the hand she'd just used to try to touch the fish.

He said, "Stick out your finger."

She obediently extended her index finger.

He reached out, held her hand, and guided her index finger to gently press against the glass beside them.

"Look," he said.

Then Amelia watched in surprise as the school of fish, as if attracted by something, all rushed toward her fingertip.

Small fish of various colors competed with each other, as if her fingertip had some magical power, swimming in groups. In the quiet seawater, it looked especially beautiful.

The fish's movement stirred the seawater, and combined with the underwater restaurant's lighting, it felt like being immersed in the ocean.

"Do you like it?" his voice came.

The glass was slightly cold, his palm warm and dry.

Amelia turned to look at York's gentle, smiling face, and nodded with a smile without hesitation.

"How did you do that?" she asked curiously.

York released her hand and let her see for herself.

She saw some kind of powder on her fingertip, shimmering with a faint glow.

"These fishes swim over when they see this glitter," he said.

So that's how!

Amelia looked at her fingertip and touched another spot nearby.

Then she successfully watched countless small fish rush over.

"This is so amazing," she couldn't help but murmur softly.

"Some years ago, I encountered many strange creatures at sea," he said. "If you're interested, I'll tell you more about them slowly."

"Sure," Amelia nodded.

Although she'd often traveled abroad for business before, she spent more time on land. They rarely spent time at sea, mostly taking planes.

He slowly told her about some interesting creatures and minerals he'd encountered over the years.

About some interesting things that happened at sea.

And places she might not have visited despite her business trips.

All of this made her feel relaxed.

Unprecedentedly relaxed.

Not fighting with anyone, not needing to think too much, just listening to him talk slowly.

"Many years ago, I encountered a strange substance in Novaria. The locals there called it blue rain," he said. "That night, I was on a boat by the shore, watching blue rain fall all night long. It was very beautiful."

"Do you have photos?" Hearing his description, she felt a bit wistful.

"I'll take you to see it," he said, then extended his large palm toward her.

She looked at his open palm, thought for a moment, then placed her hand in his.

He smiled and held her hand tightly, leading her through passages until they reached the upper level.

By now it was completely dark outside.

As they climbed the steps one by one, Amelia saw it.

Not far away on the shore, in a small area under dim lights, blue rain was falling.

Not sky blue, but a dreamy blue glowing with fluorescence in the dark night.

Amelia reached out her hand and caught some of the "raindrops," watching how they looked in her hand.

It was like a dream from a fairy tale.
