Chapter 761: Sebastian's Outburst

Sebastian sat still, his eyes coldly fixed on Audrey. Audrey's heart raced with panic as she propped herself up, hitting her head on the bedpost and gasping in pain. Sebastian remained unmoved, unlike before when he would rush to comfort her. Of course, she thought, she was Audrey now, not Isabella, not Sebastian's wife. Why would he care about her?

The wound on the back of her head throbbed faintly. She had fallen down the stairs and needed stitches. The room was eerily quiet, so silent that you could hear a pin drop. Outside the room, several people were tense, waiting for Sebastian to explode. This moment of calm was the last before the storm.

Pete stared anxiously through the window into the room. "What's Sebastian doing? He's just sitting there. What's he planning?"

Andrew glanced inside but couldn't read Sebastian's mind either. Just then, Sebastian stood up and walked to the window, locking eyes with those outside for a few seconds. Pete felt a chill run through him at Sebastian's gaze.

Sebastian drew the curtains shut, obscuring any view from outside. Pete panicked. "Sebastian, if you dare hurt my sister, I won't let you off! Don't blame me for being ruthless."

"Enough," Spencer pulled Pete back, worried that he might provoke Sebastian further.

Andrew muttered, "It's over."

Selene felt the same way; it was over.

Inside the room, Audrey was on edge. She watched Sebastian standing at the foot of the bed, her hands clenched tightly and sweating.

After what felt like an eternity, a cold voice broke the silence above her head. "Where is my wife?"

Sebastian's voice betrayed his vulnerability; it trembled as he spoke.

Audrey looked up at him and mustered her courage to say, "She's dead."

This statement shattered all of Sebastian's beliefs and fueled his anger.

Audrey continued, "She's buried in the cemetery. The tombstone you and Rowan visited-that's where Isabella is buried, your wife."

"Who gave you the courage? The audacity to impersonate my wife? You don't deserve to wear her face. You're not even a fraction of what she was! What gives you the right to be Isabella?" Sebastian's eyes were bloodshot as he grabbed Audrey's arm with such force that it felt like he might break it.

The thought of visiting Isabella's grave without knowing she was buried there and being deceived by Audrey for so long made Sebastian seethe with rage and regret.

His heart ached deeply; his beloved wife lay beneath that cold tombstone. For more than a year, he hadn't brought her home; she had died far from home.

He wasn't a worthy husband.

At that moment, he hated himself and wanted to kill both himself and Audrey.

Seeing the murderous intent on Sebastian's face, Audrey said, "Yes, I don't deserve to be Isabella. She was perfect; no one can replace her! I'm sorry; I never intended to replace her. I promised her I'd help you out of your sorrow because she knew you'd be devastated after her death. I'm sorry..."

Audrey broke down in tears, choking on her words.

Every word from Sebastian felt like a knife stabbing her heart.

Without Isabella's exterior, she meant nothing to him.

She disgusted him.

"What do you have to replace her? You're not even fit to carry her shoes!" Sebastian seethed with anger. "You tarnish my wife's name with that face! You use her heart and try to take everything from her. You're unworthy! Give me back my wife's heart; you can't use her face anymore-it must be changed back."
