Chapter 13
In fact, Blake had met Ethan years ago.
Even actually, Ethan was his savior.
Back then, Blake was just a bastard son brought home from outside.
Still getting bullied by the Harrison relatives’ kids.
Ethan stopped them.
As the Shaw family’s eldest son and grandson, and a Harrison family guest, he had status.
No one dared disobey.
Then he helped Blake up, cleaned his wounds, and even stole a roasted chicken from the kitchen.
That was Blake’s first full meal since returning to the Harrison house.
Before leaving, Blake asked his name.
Ethan didn’t answer, just stopped and turned back:
“If you don’t fight back, how will you get what you want?”
“You can’t choose your birth, but you can choose your children’s.”
Blake lived by those words for over twenty years.
So when he realized Celeste had snuck into his bed while he was unaware and even gotten pregnant-
He couldn’t let that child be born.
His child’s mother could only be Aria, the Reed family heiress.
But later, that woman ran away.
She wasn’t sent away by him like Aria thought.
During Celeste’s missing years, Blake kept this secret buried.
Every time he saw Aria, he felt guilty.
So he started avoiding her, afraid to face her.
The night Aria proposed marriage, he received photos and a paternity test from Celeste.
The little girl in the photos looked just like him.
In that moment, he knew his love was over.
But he still wanted to fight for a future with Aria-she was the girl he’d loved for EIGHT years.
The only person who stayed by his side during his most helpless, humiliating, painful times,
His most precious person.
But in the end, he hurt the one he loved most.
Chapter 13
Blake stopped wanting to come home.
No matter how much Celeste made her daughter cry and scream, he wouldn’t be manipulated anymore.
When her only weapon failed, Celeste panicked completely.
Because aside from her daughter, she had nothing with Blake.
That day, someone told her Blake kept important things on his study computer.
If something happened to those files, he’d definitely come home.
Celeste was desperate. So she decided to gamble.
Just like she’d gambled successfully with Blake years ago and enjoyed the good life ever since.
She had her daughter bring hot water and pour it all over the computer.
Then called Blake’s assistant.
Sure enough, he was home within an hour.
Seeing the mess everywhere, Blake’s bloodshot eyes filled with rage.
Once again, their daughter stepped in front.
“Daddy,
y, I accidentally broke your things. You won’t be mad at me, right?”
The little girl was still smiling, no fear in her eyes.
Because she knew Daddy always forgave her.
After a long moment, Blake finally bent down.
He crouched in front of his daughter.
“I will be mad at you. When you make mistakes, there are consequences and you should know.”
His cold gaze swept over the secretly pleased woman.
‘Celeste, we’re getting divorced.”

Within days, Celeste was kicked out with nothing, and her family got dragged down too.
Through Blake’s connections, their new company lost many orders and fell into debt.
Blake also lost a billion-dollar project because of the important files destroyed on his computer.
To appease the shareholders, he lost the CEO position he’d worked so hard to reach.
But this time, Blake seemed to have lost his fighting spirit.
He requested a transfer to a small branch office in the south with his daughter.
He said he was tired.
The day he left, Blake came to my building.
Ethan spotted him.
He asked me:
Chapter 13
“Aren’t you going to see him? He looks pretty heartbroken.”
I looked at the man downstairs who’d lost weight.
Then I closed the curtains.
Ethan was playing blocks with our daughter, chuckling softly.
“Cold-hearted.”
After putting our daughter to sleep, he told me:
‘It’s her birthday the day after tomorrow. My flight’s tomorrow.”
calmly pulled out a suitcase and started packing his clothes.
‘I’ll take care of our daughter. Stay as long as you need.”
He nodded.
Thank you.”
After loving someone with everything we had, we both lost the ability to love again.
Ethan and I were more like partners with a shared bond.
Supporting and understanding each other in life.
Neither could reach the other’s heart.
But we stayed in each other’s lives.
Life was never perfect, but now I was content.
