Chapter 7
Security dragged her to the roof. Wind whipped around her frail body like she was already dead.[]
They didn’t just shove her off–too easy. Instead, they lashed her to the railing with coarse rope, then pulled out a dull blade and started sawing through it, strand by strand.[]
Scritch….scritch…]
Each cut was psychological torture, forcing her to count down to her own death.[]
Vivienne looked down at the courtyard where Noel’s blood still stained the grass.]
The rope got thinner. Her body started to sway.]
When the last fiber snapped, she plummeted like a broken bird.[]
THUD!
She hit concrete hard, blood spreading beneath her in the moonlight.[]
As consciousness slipped away, she caught one last glimpse of Dominic and Cameron’s retreating figures.]
When Vivienne came to, harsh sunlight stabbed through the curtains.[]
She cracked her eyes open. The pain meant she was still breathing.]]
The door swung open. Noel swept in with her crew, radiating victory.[]
“Look who’s up.” She stood over the bed, voice dripping honey. “Hope you finally get how crazy Dom and Cam are about me.“[]
She leaned down, whispering in Vivienne’s ear: “But sweetie, we’re just getting started.“[]
Without warning, Noel straightened and started slapping herself across the face.
SMACK! SMACK!
The sound echoed off the walls.[]
Before Vivienne could blink Noel tore at her own clothes and ran screaming into the hallway: “HELP! OH GOD, HELP ME!“[]
Heavy footsteps pounded down the corridor.[]
“What the hell?” Dominic burst in first, suit sharp as a blade.[]
Cameron was right behind him, his stare turning arctic when it landed on Vivienne.]]
Noel collapsed into Dominic’s arms, sobbing. “She… she brought those men to assault me…“]]
“Jesus Christ, Vivienne!” Dominic grabbed her chin. “Can’t stay out of trouble for five goddamn minutes, even half dead?“[]
Vivienne lay there, staring at nothing. Her lips were cracked and bloodless, IV tubes snaking from her skeletal arms.[]

Her silence made Dominic angrier. “Answer me! Did you set these scumbags on her?“[]
Nothing but the steady pulse of the heart monitor.[]
“Perfect.” Cameron’s laugh was ice–cold. “You wanna play with trash? Enjoy the company.“[]
He nodded to security. “Lock it down.“]]
As they dragged Noel away, she threw a “worried” look back. “Dom, Cam, maybe we shouldn’t leave her alone with them…“[]
“Why not?” Dominic’s voice was arctic. “They’re her people.“]
But in the hallway, both men stopped and listened.[]
Complete silence from the room. Satisfied, they finally left.
What they didn’t know-
Inside, the men were pressed against the door, waiting for the all–clear.[]
“They’re gone.” The leader grinned and turned toward the bed. “Time to take real good care of our princess.“]]
Rough hands covered her mouth. Her hospital gown tore with a sharp rip.[]
Cold air hit her skin. Vivienne thrashed like a wild animal.]
“Mmph… stop…”
Tears blurred everything. Her muffled screams died in his palm.[]
Her nails clawed bloody tracks down his arm, earning her rougher treatment.]
SPLASH!
Blood suddenly erupted from her mouth, painting the white sheets crimson.]
The men froze.
More blood. Then more.[]
It poured from her lips like a broken dam, soaking half the bed.[]
“Shit! She’s bleeding out!”
“Get a fucking doctor!“]
They scattered, someone crashed into the IV pole, glass detonating across the floor.]
Vivienne’s vision went gray. Footsteps and alarms faded in and out.]]
“Blood pressure crashing! Get the crash cart!“]
“Where’s her family?” The doctor’s voice was frantic. “Liver failure, clotting disorder, she could stop breathing any second…“[]
A nurse was crying: “I’ve been calling nonstop. Her brother and fiancé think she’s faking it with a bought–off doctor…“[]
