Chapter 5
Vivienne started to speak, but Noel appeared behind them, all wide–eyed innocence. “Wait, didn’t you guys hear wrong? She said she was gonna destroy Uncle and Aunt’s graves. And Leona’s too.”
Her voice soft as silk, sharp as steel.[]
Vivienne stood there, numb. Why bother defending herself anymore?[]
They’d never believe her anyway.[]
Sure enough, Dominic’s face went black. “Jesus Christ, Vivienne. We saw the storm coming and came back to get you, and this is what you’re planning? Guess we’ve been going too easy on you.“]
Cameron was livid, grabbing her by the collar. “Killing Mom, Dad, and Leona wasn’t enough? Now you want to trash their graves?“]
Vivienne almost laughed.[]
Who exactly had she killed?]
シ
Everyone was alive and well. She was the only one dying here![]
Before she could say anything, Cameron dragged her outside. “You don’t learn, do you? Time to feel their pain!”
He drove his foot hard into her back.[]
“Ahhh!”
Vivienne tumbled down the concrete steps, sharp edges tearing through skin, bones cracking against stone with sickening pops.[]
She rolled like a broken doll all the way to the bottom, blood everywhere, and passed out from the agony.[]
Rain woke her up hours later.[]
She lay in a pool of blood, completely alone.[]
The cemetery staff had clearly been warned off–stay the hell away.[]
Ribs definitely broken. Right leg useless. Head wound still bleeding, turning the rain pink around her.[]
Gritting her teeth, she started the crawl toward the fence. Nails dug trenches in the mud, painting red streaks behind her.[]
Every inch was pure torture.[]
Finally she grabbed the railing and hauled herself upright.[]
One step. Two steps…
Blood dripped from her pants, blooming red flowers in the rain.]
By the time she dragged herself to the ER and then home, it was past midnight.[]
The living room lights were still on.[]

Chapter 5
Dominic and Cameron sat on the couch, watching her limp in with cold satisfaction.[]
“Learn anything?” Cameron’s voice was ice.
Vivienne nodded numbly. “Yeah.“[]
“Gonna try it again?“]
She shook her head.
Finally satisfied, they got up and left.]
For the next few days, Vivienne locked herself in her room.[]
Until Noel’s birthday party, when they dragged her out.]
The party was on a luxury yacht, crystal chandeliers throwing light everywhere, champagne tower glittering in the center.]
Vivienne hugged the shadows, watching Noel shine center stage.[]
Dominic went full Prince Charming, sliding diamond heels onto her feet. Cameron fastened a ruby necklace worth more than most people’s houses around her neck. Guests raised their glasses in worship.[]
For a moment, Vivienne remembered.[]
All her birthdays used to be on this yacht.]]
Dominic would cancel everything to decorate the ballroom himself. Cameron would drive across the city at midnight just because she mentioned wanting cake from some specific cake. Her parents would beam with pride: “Our most precious girl.“[]
Now she was furniture. Even the waitstaff pretended she didn’t exist.[]
“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s light the birthday fireworks!“]
The MC’s voice snapped her back to reality.[]
Everyone stampeded to the deck, sweeping her along.]
Ocean wind hit her face, salt and spray.
BOOM!]]
The first firework exploded overhead, lighting up the entire sea.]
Then the clear night sky went black with storm clouds.]
“What the hell?“]
“Weather app said clear skies!“]]
Before anyone could react, the wind picked up and rain came down in sheets.]
“Holy shit!“]
A massive wave slammed the yacht sideways.[]

SPLASH
SPLASH!
They hit the water together.
Ice–cold ocean filled her lungs. Vivienne fought to surface.
“Help…”
The waves swallowed her voice.]
Through blurred vision, she saw Dominic and Cameron dive in without hesitation.[]
They swam straight for Noel.
Not one glance her way.
