Chapter 13
Cameron felt like shit for doubting Leona.. After cooling down, he headed upstairs to apologize, but before he reached her door, he heard something shatter inside her room.[]
Then came Leona’s voice–dripping with venom.]
“That fucking bitch Vivienne. Thought her died, everything would finally be perfect. Guess I underestimated her–even from the grave, she’s got everyone wrapped around her finger.“]]
“Why can’t her just stay dead and leave me alone?!“[]
Cameron’s stomach dropped. He’d been worried she might’ve accidentally broken something, but this…]
He pressed himself against the wall, barely breathing, desperate to hear what else she’d say.[]
She didn’t disappoint.
“That whore had nine lives or something. The car accident, pushing her off that rooftop–nothing stuck. But hey, she’s finally dead, so joke’s on her.“]]
‘Cameron’s blood turned to ice.[]
Every single “accident” had been Leona’s handiwork. She’d been trying to kill Vivienne all along.
Everything weird about the past few months suddenly made perfect sense. Leona wasn’t surprised by Vivienne’s death because she’d been planning it.
She wanted Vivienne out of the picture so she could slide into her spot permanently.[]
Cameron slammed the door open, eyes blazing red as he stared her down.[]
Glass littered the floor. And there was Leona–face contorted with pure hatred, caught in the act.]]
When she looked up and saw him, their eyes locked.[]
Without her usual mask of sweetness, she looked like a complete stranger. Was this really the same girl who’d seemed spoiled at
worst?
But after what he’d just heard, it all made perfect sense.]

Cameron stalked toward her, looming over her panicked expression. When he spoke, his voice was deadly calm.[]
“Leona. That fall from the hospital window–was that really Vivienne trying to hurt you?“[]
She knew he’d heard everything. Panic flashed across her face before she forced herself to calm down.[]
She reached for his hand tentatively. When he didn’t pull away, confidence crept back into her voice as she slipped back into
character.
“Cam, let me explain-“]
Voices drifted up from downstairs.]]
“Where’s Leona?”

Chapter 13
“She’s asleep, sir. Maybe come back tomorrow?“]
Heavy footsteps pounded up the stairs.
A second later, Dominic appeared in the doorway–eyes bloodshot, radiating pure fury.]
Pure terror shot through Leona at the sight of him.[]
But she recovered quickly. “Dom, what are you doing here so late? About today, I already forgave you. I know you’re hurting because of Viv–AH!”
He backhanded her so hard she hit the floor.]
Leona touched her burning cheek, staring up at him in disbelief. Tears welled up on cue. “Dom, how could you hit me?“]
Her voice trembled with practiced vulnerability–a trick that used to work every time.[]
Now it just made him see red.]]
Dominic’s hand clamped around her throat. His eyes burned with murderous rage. “Still trying to play innocent?!“]
His grip tightened. Stars exploded across her vision as she clawed at his fingers, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.]
Just before she passed out, he let go. Angry red marks bloomed across her throat as she sucked in desperate gasps of air.]
Then he fisted her hair, wrenching her head back to force eye contact.[]
“What did you do to Vivienne? Why did you lie to us?!“[]
He shoved her backward. Her skull cracked against the nightstand, blood trickling down her forehead.[]
Neither man moved to help.]
Dominic hurled a stack of documents at her. The paper edges sliced across her skin, leaving thin red lines.[]
“It’s all here. Every sick thing you did. What’s your bullshit excuse now?“[]
Cameron crouched down, gathering the scattered papers. []
Page after page of evidence laid out the truth in black and white.]
He looked at Leona with pure disgust.[]
Their parents‘ voices carried up from downstairs, burst into the room, taking in Leona on the floor with blood streaming down her face.
“What the hell are you doing to her?!” their mother tried to help the girl up, but Cameron blocked her path.[]
“Take a look at what your precious Leona has did!“[]
