Chapter 52

Zelda POV

Where is he? My sister is missing and I'm sure someone kidnapped her.

The inner battle to call my Father raged on. He'd be pissed I was even here!

I arrived at the bar Zora worked at but I caught my wolf caught her mate's scent and he knew we were here.

Rats! I don't want to deal with Kaleb but he might help me.

I don't know anyone in this town other than him and I have to find Zora.

"Kaleb?" I called over the loud music, the laughter and the balls smacking against each other on the pool table.

I squeezed between bodies and scanned faces on tables. The second I entered the bar my senses were assaulted by a blend of smells. It made me want to gag.

I found Kaleb sat in the corner of the bar with a tall glass of beer. A smile lit up his face as he spoke to his friends. Damn him for being so gorgeous.

Focus Zelda, we're not here for men. Even though this one is mine.

To be honest I wasn't sure what to do with Kaleb.

"Hey!" I said.

The smile was wiped off his face and he stood instantly.

I noticed the friends he was with were a blend of one guy and three girls. I clenched my jaw maybe this was a mistake.

"Zelda, what are you doing here?"

"Looking for Zora… I thought you could help me but never mind."

I turned to leave.

"No, no, wait."

I couldn't get away from him fast enough because my next step sent me into another man's back and then into some guy's chest, making him spill his beer on me.

"Gross," I whispered.

"Back off!' Kaleb said, shoving the guy into his friend.

"Hey! She backed into me, bastard."

"Get your eyes off her!" Kaleb roared.

I grabbed his elbow before he lost it and attacked the guy.

"Stop that," I said.

"He got alcohol all over you," he argued.

"Because I was trying to get away from you."

He ran a hand down his face before grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of the bar. I could finally breathe when we were in the parking lot. How could he survive in there without irritating his wolf?

"What's wrong with Zora?" he asked.

I crossed my arms over my chest. "She was supposed to call when she got to work but she didn't. I found the bar's number online and called. The manager said she arrived at work but she wasn't there anymore. Someone tried to kidnap her already what if they succeeded this time?"

"What if she just went home?" Kaleb asked then stopped to run a hand through his hair. "Hmm, I don't think she went back to Cassidy's."

"Yeah…" that must be weird from what I've heard and Kaleb said they got into a fight.

"I'll find her on my own you can go back to your friends. Don't leave your ladies waiting."

He slipped an arm around my waist and dragged me to his body.

"Don't be jealous Zelda. You have no reason to be."

"Of course not there's nothing between us!"

He brushed his nose against mine. "How long do you think it'll last before we mate? On my end, I could strip you naked right now and fuck you against one of these cars."

A lump formed in my throat and I swallowed it. "That's for the visual."

He smirked. "I'll help you find her. I care about her too."

I nodded. "Thank you."

We climbed into his truck. I smelt new but there were fast food boxes and wrappers on the floor and on the backseat.

Boys, I thought.

Kaleb gripped the stirring wheel before starting the car.

"I care about you too Zelda. I know we just met but I want to explore this. A fated mate is a precious thing."

I didn't know he felt that way. I've thought about him a lot and how our relationship wouldn't work. I'm a nobody from out of town and he's a mature Alpha wolf with a great position in the Pack. He's experienced and popular I'm none of that.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Of course I am. So I have to come clean if we're going to make this work."

"Come clean about what?"

He turned in his seat and held my gaze.

"I've known Zora for a long time and… I always thought of her as a sister until this year… we…uh… we crossed the line."

Heat rushed to my cheeks. "You guys hooked up? Did you sleep with her?"

"No, no, but we did do other things. I don't mean to give you a visual but-"

"Stop, I know enough. All that happened before I came into your life right?"

He nodded.

"Then there's no big deal. I didn't come to this Pack looking for a boyfriend I came here to find my sister."

"I know besides, Zora's with Dash and nothing's going to change that. I just don't want secrets between us."

I nodded. "Fine… then I guess I have to tell you something too."

His muscles tensed. "Something like what? I don't need to know about your ex-boyfriends."

I smirked. "You'll find out eventually but it's not that."

"Tell me then," he said, his eyes narrowing.

I let out a shaky breath. "Okay… I know where the Pandora is. My Dad had the location written out before he destroyed it. He doesn't know I know."

"Fuck, Zelda. Don't tell me. Don't tell anyone you know!"

"Why?"

"It's dangerous. Fuck, this isn't good. We'll deal with that later let's just fine Zora."

I nodded. She was what's important right now. Kaleb and I drove to her house which was under heavy construction and dangerous right now from there we went to Dash's house and no one had been there for days. No one knew where Zora was.

We returned to Cassidy's house and parked in the driveway.

"I have no other options," Kaleb said, pulling out his phone.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm calling Dash. He has to know his girlfriend's missing."

"I hope she's okay," I whispered.

Kaleb rubbed my thigh intimately and let it sit there while he made the call.

"Thank fuck you picked up. We have a situation."

"What?" Dash replied.

Kaleb put him on speakerphone.

"Dude, we can't find Zora. She showed up to work and vanished."

There was silence for a few seconds.

"Uh-huh, are you sure she isn't screwing someone else? Hell, if she's not fucking you then she must be with Gunner," Dash said spitefully.

My jaw dropped.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Of course, she's not screwing Gunner. We don't know where she is."

"She's fucking someone! She my mate I can feel stuff like that."

"You failed to mark her remember? You don't have a mate bond. Did you hit your head?"

Dash groaned. "I know what I feel and I can feel the betrayal."

"What if it's against her will?" I said in a small voice.

"Who is that?" Dash asked.

"Zelda, my fated mate. Think about it man, how many times has Zora been in danger? Since the beginning."

After thinking it through Dash realised he fucked up.

"I'm coming home."
