I facepalmed. This is not the start of their father-daughter conversation I was expecting.
"Havannah, he's your Daddy... Respect him," I said, a little scolding.
Luca just put down the things he bought in front of Vanna. I was stunned when I noticed that my daughter was sneakily peeking at them. Luca just knelt down to be on the same level as her, then held Vanna's hand.
"D-Do you want me to cut my hair?" Luca asked, his voice shaking.
Vanna pursed her lips. "If you're really my real Daddy, why did you only come now? At least Daddy Aiden is better. I like him more."
"Havannah!" I scolded her.
Luca looked at me and nodded. "It's alright, Crescent. She's just surprised by what's happening," Luca said in a soft voice and looked at Vanna again.
"I-I'm sorry if I was late... It's Daddy's fault for being slow... B-But I'll do better this time. C-Can you please give me a chance, Havannah?" Luca asked... I noticed that his voice immediately shakes when he talks to Vanna.
I just bit my lower lip and held my arm... It's easy for him to say that it's my fault because I hid Vanna from him, but he didn't say that to our child... He even took the blame for what happened.
"Vanna?"
We all stopped and looked at the door... Aiden arrived. Vanna immediately smiled and hugged Aiden. Aiden just smiled, then carried the kid. I looked at Aiden, confused... We agreed that he wouldn't come first so Vanna and Luca could have time together... Why did he still come?
Aiden looked at me and smiled. "Sorry, I forgot about our agreement. I just finished work early," he just said.
I don't know why I feel bad about what he said... He forgot?
"Daddy! Let's play outside!" Vanna said excitedly, then hugged Aiden's nape.
I looked at Luca, who was just looking at the two of them. I couldn't help but feel guilty, especially when I saw the pain on his eyes. He just followed Aiden and Vanna with his gaze when they went out.
"Havannah! Come back here--"
Luca held my shoulder, it's as if he's stopping me from calling Vanna back. He just smiled faintly at me. "This won't be easy for her to accept. Let's take it slow... I'm not in a hurry," he just said, then gave me a faint smile.
He looks calm while saying that, but his hand on my shoulder is shaking now. He just looked away and immediately took his hand off... Is he that nervous? I think this is the first time I've seen him this nervous.
I just sighed and looked at Aiden and Vanna on the veranda... I'll talk to Aiden seriously later. Vanna won't get close to Luca if he always appears. If possible, I'll let Luca and Vanna be alone just so they can have time together as father and daughter... I already promised myself that I would help Luca with Vanna.
TIME PASSED, and Havannah only played with and paid attention to Aiden. Luca was just quiet while watching our child. He didn't leave, nor did he look angry or annoyed... but he looks hurt.
"Be careful on your way home... Tomorrow, I'll let you be alone with Vanna. I'm sorry about what happened," I said, apologizing to Luca as I walked him to the gate. Aiden also followed us; he probably already put Vanna to sleep.
"It's alright," he just said. He looked at Aiden.
I gasped in surprise when Luca just pulled Aiden's collar and pulled him away from me. It's obvious that even Aiden didn't expect him to do that. Luca kicked Aiden's stomach with full force, causing him to sit on the ground.
"L-Luca!"
Luca looked at Aiden with a cold stare. "You fucking asshole."
I gasped when Luca violently kicked Aiden in the face; he completely fell on the ground. I immediately went to Luca when he was about to kick Aiden again. I held his arm to stop him even though my knees were shaking from nervousness.
"Are you trying to stop me, Crescent?" Luca looked at me. I immediately let go of him and nervously stepped back because of the coldness in his eyes... I felt fear from that stare.
Luca looked at Aiden again and kicked his stomach. Aiden was about to stand up, but Luca immediately went on top of him and punched his face twice. I was so flustered and covered my mouth because Aiden's lip was already bleeding.
"L-Luca! S-Stop it!" I tried to stop him... but I'm still too nervous to get close to him.
Luca pulled Aiden's collar, then pulled him into a sitting position. He punched Aiden again... I think I felt the power of his punch because I think I heard Aiden's jaw bone crack. Aiden groaned in pain, but Luca just pulled him again.
"It looks like you're underestimating me," Luca said in a dangerous voice while looking at Aiden, whose face was already covered in blood.
"W-What the hell are you saying?" Aiden asked.
"Is it fun to fuck with me? Huh, Aiden Donello?" Luca asked again. He punched Aiden again. "You're a bastard," Luca said coldly.
"L-Luca... P-Please stop it." I tried to get close to him, but my feet wouldn't move.
"It looks like you're underestimating what I can do," Luca grinned while looking at Aiden with a cold stare. "You messed with the fucking wrong person, doctor," Luca said firmly, then punched Aiden again.
I gasped when Luca took a gun from behind him and pointed it at Aiden's jaw. My nervousness increased when he cocked it. I was about to go to him to finally stop him, but I felt Vanna come out of the gate.
"Daddy!"
Luca only stopped when he heard Vanna's voice. Vanna immediately let go of the teddy bear she was holding and ran closer to Luca. She pushed Luca away from Aiden, then hugged Aiden while crying. Vanna glared at Luca, which made him freeze. Luca was stunned by the angry stare and tearful face of our daughter.
"You're so bad! I don't want you to be my Daddy! I hate you so much!"
Luca was stunned by what Vanna said and couldn't move. Aiden wiped the blood from his lip and had a staring contest with Luca... I don't know why I don't like the way he's looking at Luca... it's as if he's mocking him.
"Do you get it now, Luca? I did that before because you're too dangerous for Vanna and Crescent... a monster like you... You don't deserve them."
