Chapter 21 Nooooooo!
Chapter 21 Nooooooo!
"Cassian... Cassian, wake up. Please, open your eyes."
Ivy's voice pierced the fog in my head, soft and trembling, like she was holding back tears. I blinked against the dim light, my body aching from the overload, from everything. We were in some kind of chamber—cold stone walls, flickering torches that cast long shadows. Not the house. Somewhere older, deeper. My hand still throbbed from the cut, but her fingers were intertwined with mine, warm and real.
"Ivy?" I rasped, sitting up too fast, the world spinning. "God, Ivy, I thought I'd lost you. When everything went black... I woke up alone."
She cupped my face, her thumbs brushing away the grime, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "You didn't lose me. I pulled you through the mirror just in time. The convergence... it shifted us here. Some kind of pocket dimension, I think. But we're together. That's all that matters right now."
I pulled her into my arms, crushing her against my chest, breathing in her scent—rain and mint, mixed with the sweat of our earlier frenzy. "I was so scared. For the first time in forever, I felt real fear, not just numbness. Because of you. You make me feel everything, Ivy. I love you. Through all the cycles, all the madness... I love you."
Her breath hitched, and she tilted her head back, her lips finding mine in a kiss that was slow, tender, full of the emotions we'd bottled up for so long. "I love you too, Cassian," she whispered against my mouth, her voice breaking. "You've been my light in this darkness. Every touch, every look... it's been you keeping me sane. Don't ever think you're alone in this."
Our kiss deepened, her hands sliding under my torn shirt, tracing the lines of my chest with a gentleness that made my heart ache. I could feel every caress, every flutter of her fingertips, thanks to her—the only one who broke through my condition. "You're everything to me," I murmured, my voice thick with emotion. "I don't deserve you, but God, I need you."
She smiled through her tears, her fingers undoing what was left of my buttons. "You deserve everything, Cassian. Let me show you. Let me make you feel how much I love you."
I nodded, my throat tight, as she pushed me back onto the makeshift bed of old blankets we'd somehow landed on. Her movements were unhurried, sweet, like she was savoring every second. She peeled off my shirt, her lips following the path, kissing down my collarbone, my chest, lingering on each scar from past cycles. "These marks... they're proof of how strong you are," she said softly, her breath warm against my skin. "And I love every part of you."
Emotion swelled in my chest, a mix of love and vulnerability I'd never allowed myself before. "Ivy... you're too good to me." My hands found her hair, loose and damp, threading through it as she moved lower, her kisses trailing fire across my stomach.
She looked up at me, her eyes shining. "No, Cassian. We're good for each other." Her hands worked my pants open, freeing me, and she took me in her hand, stroking slowly, her touch reverent. I groaned, the sensation overwhelming, but it was her words that undid me. "I want to make you feel cherished. Loved."
She lowered her head, her mouth enveloping me, warm and wet, her tongue swirling with a tenderness that brought tears to my eyes. "Oh, God, Ivy... that feels... I love you so much," I whispered, my voice cracking. Every suck, every lick was laced with emotion, her free hand holding mine, squeezing as if to say, I'm here. We're real.
I arched into her, pleasure building sweet and slow, but I needed more—needed to connect with her fully. "Come here," I said, pulling her up gently. "I want to be inside you. Feel you around me."
She nodded, stripping off her clothes with my help, our hands trembling from the intensity of it all. Her body was beautiful in the torchlight—curves I wanted to worship forever. She straddled me, guiding me inside her, sinking down inch by inch. We both gasped, her tightness enveloping me, the connection electric.
"I love feeling you like this," she murmured, starting to move, her hips rolling in a gentle rhythm. "So deep... so perfect. You're mine, Cassian. Always."
I sat up, wrapping my arms around her, our chests pressed together as we rocked in unison. "And you're mine," I replied, my lips brushing her ear. "I never thought I'd have this—real touch, real love. You gave it back to me." My hands roamed her back, her ass, pulling her closer with each thrust.
Our pace quickened, but it stayed sweet, emotional—kisses interspersed with whispers of "I love you" and "Don't stop." She clenched around me, her breaths coming in soft moans. "Cassian... I'm close. Come with me. Please."
"Yes," I groaned, thrusting up to meet her, the pleasure cresting like a wave. We shattered together, her cry mingling with mine, bodies trembling in shared release. I held her tight as we came down, our foreheads touching, tears mixing on our cheeks.
"I don't know what I'd do without you," I said, my voice raw.
"You'll never have to find out," she promised, kissing me softly.
But as we lay there, entwined and catching our breath, a low rumble shook the chamber. The walls shimmered, and through a crack in the stone, a figure emerged—Valeria, bloodied but alive, her eyes wild with rage.
"You think you can escape the legacy?" she snarled, raising a pulsing device. "Cycle nine isn't over—it's just beginning. And I've got your friends as leverage."
Before we could move, the device flared, pulling us toward a swirling portal. Ivy screamed my name as we were torn apart, her hand slipping from mine.
