Perfect

A kiss on the forehead. A kiss on the cheek. One arm around her waist, and then he let go. He held her hand when they walked into the woods, kissed it and let go. It didn't seem like he was going to go any further than that.

It was their last night at the lake together. She was going to spend it drunk. She had been scrolling down Lee's TikTok and Instragram and saw him with a girl. A very pretty Korean girl dancing a duet with him. She left a heart emoji on the post though she didn't mean it.

But who was she to judge him when she was alone with her first crush ever and had been flirting her heart out with him since he arrived? The crush that Lee have always been jealous of and he always said that she will never get over Theo ... ever. And the last few days have been proof that Lee was right.

"How are you?" Lee sent her a private message. It was the beginning of a conversation she wished she didn't have.

Lee was permitted to use his phone for a few hours before it was confiscated again, and he decided to talk to her because he saw she was online on Instagram.

Lee was having the time of his life in Korea, and the girl in the post was someone he was close with ... a new 'best friend' just like the way they were friends at first. He had found her replacement. So soon.

So she told him that she was with Theo at the lake ... just the two of them. There was a long pause before Lee finally replied with a broken heart emoji and it crushed her. Why the hell did she told him that? And when she told him "I miss you" the words just felt empty and untrue. Though it's true. She really did miss him.

The conversation ended with a bitter after taste. Maybe that's why they say you can't be friends with your ex. So she turned to the fridge and grabbed some beers. Theo had been busy working on the cabin. It needed a few fixing here and there. She was left alone with her phone, hence, spending too much time on social media and got her heart broken and smashed Lee's heart while she was at it.

She was upside down on the sofa watching Netflix when Theo finished showering. He came out with just boxer shorts and a towel to dry his hair.

"Oh my God ... you look bored out of your mind ... do you wanna go out? Sorry about that, I had to finish the balcony before we go home tomorrow," Theo said.

She turned and sat right side up. Her head spin. There were 5 cans on the coffee table in front of her and they were all empty.

Theo laughed, "I can't believe you started the party without me ... is there still anything left in the fridge?"

"Yeah ... grab me another one will ya'?" she said with one eye closed. "I don't wanna go out tonight ... let's just stay in and ... get wasted," she laughed.

"You're half way there it looks like," he laughed as he grabbed some beers in the fridge.

"Haha ... very funny ... I was talking to Lee ... on Instagram ... he has a new girl as it turned out," she squeezed her eyes shut, "She's so pretty," she sighed.

Theo sat on the floor facing her and handed her the beer, "I'm sorry to hear that," he took a sip, "What are you going to do about it?"

She glared at him. It was a cruel thing to ask with his bare chest, wet hair, his sun-kissed skin and looking like he came straight out of an ad in a Sport Magazine.

"Nothing ..." she said, 'Absolutely nothing but sulk in agony for how pathetic my love life is' was what she really said inside her head.

"It's a good thing he moved on ... I mean ... have you moved on from him too?" he was dying to find out.

"I don't know ... is it moving on? Or maybe I'm just stuck in the past and never really moved on all this time?" she blurted. Then she drank her beer when she realized she had said too much.

"What do you mean?" he furrowed his brows.

"Nothing ... it doesn't matter anymore ... it's over with Lee and ... " she glanced at him swiftly.

"What?" he was curious.

'It's never going to happen with you' she kept her thought private but then something she didn't see coming happened. She cried.

"Hey ... what's the matter? I think you drank too much, Micky," he took the beer from her hand and sat beside her on the sofa.

She shook her head. The tears kept coming and stopped her from forming any words. Maybe he was right, maybe it was the booze but it hurt inside for what just happened with Lee and then ... Theo.

The scent of his body wash tingled in her nose, his skin soft on her cheek when she rested her face on his shoulder. She got a taste of how it would feel like to be skin on skin with him, and she wanted it. She looked up at him. His gorgeous face was staring back at her, her heart sank.

She did have a few too many beers. She kissed him. She didn't care. If he could read her mind she didn't have to explain what she was doing. She wanted to take anything she can get from him right there and then.

His cold lips. His mouth opening up to welcome her. He wanted it as much she did. She knew it, she just couldn't figure out why he held back from making the first move. Her eyes were closed. She took it all in, the feel of his hands on her cheeks, his tongue softly tangled with hers. His breath on her face. It was the perfect kiss.

She sat back on the sofa, she pulled him toward her and had him between her legs. His firm arms on either side of her head holding his weight from pressing against her. The kiss was catching a moment and neither of them was going to end it. She slipped her hand inside his boxer and he was hard.

Theo pulled himself away abruptly. Her hand in his shorts had startled him. "No ... Micky ..." he was catching his breath. "What are you doing?" he panicked.

"I'm sorry ... I guess I got carried away ..."

"You know we can't do this ... right?" he fidgeted on his feet, he seemed uncomfortable with what's going on under his shorts.

She hugged her knees and raised her shoulders, she was indifferent to whatever Theo was worried about.

"You had too many beers ... that's one ... and ... you're upset about Lee ... and ... we've been here alone for days ... that could create a false believe that you wanted to do this with me," he said still trying to control his breathing.

Hazel looked at him with a 'Really?' expression and stood up. She grabbed the beer can on the table and took a big gulp. "Sure," she said and walked past him.

He held her hand to stop her from walking away. She challenged him with a look. "Give it more time? Please ... you know I want this too ... I want this to be perfect," he said.

She wasn't sure what he meant, but he was confirming his feelings for her and it was enough to make her smile, "It already is," she said.
