The woman had provoked him, and as a result, he was unable to control his anger and struck Nadine with his fist. He didn’t want to hit her but he was furious. Of all the people who could betray him, he didn’t expect Nadine to do it. He didn’t expect that she could sleep with another man while claiming she loved him!
He should not have resorted to the level of violence that he did, but by the time he realized his mistake, it was too late.
“I asked you a question, Nadine. Are you pregnant?”
Nadine nodded and replied, “Yes, I am pregnant with your child, Alpha Marcus.”
Marcus laughed at the woman’s response and grabbed her wrist. “Pregnant with my child? Do you think you can fool me?” He screamed at her and his voice reverberated in the entire room. “I can forgive you for sleeping with him, Nadine, but I can’t let his bastard live!” He shouted at her again. He was infuriated. He was enraged! While looking at his Luna, he felt the urge to throttle her beautiful neck and snap the life out of her body!
Slowly, he approached Luna Nadine and placed his hand on her stomach. She grimaced in discomfort, but he was already out of his mind. He was intent on ensuring that the bastard inside her womb would die.
“Please…help me, Alpha Marcus,” she sobbed while pleading with her husband to help her, but his eyes were blazing with anger.
“It’s better if the child will die, Luna. I cannot allow the bastard to live!”
“Please, Marcus. Help me. I don’t want to lose our first child,” she begged him, but as she looked up, she saw the disdain in his eyes. Tears began to well up around the corners of her eyes when the realization hit her that he despised her!
“The baby inside your womb has no right to live, Luna.”
“I am carrying your child, Marcus! How can you be so heartless? I am your mate, and there’s no way you will kill this child! The Moon Goddess will punish you, Alpha Marcus!”
Marcus snorted and replied, “You are no longer my mate, Nadine,” he announced. No, you can’t be serious, Marcus! Sakajun, his wolf screamed at him, but Marcus was too opinionated to listen otherwise.
Then, Marcus stared at the woman for a long time and studied her appearance. There was no doubt that Nadine Smith, his Luna, was considered as the most beautiful woman in their entire Pack.
Brown, long wavy hair slightly revealed her anguished face. Narrow sapphire eyes, set low within their sockets, watched him carefully. Her smooth skin beautifully complimented her hair, and by all means, she was so pretty!
Nadine Smith, an Alpha’s daughter who managed to capture his heart when she was eighteen looked vulnerable before him. Her innocent façade could fool anyone, but not him!
He was no longer captivated by her beauty because he knew that behind her innocent look, she was a cunning woman who would do everything for her happiness. She was selfish!
She had become pale but he was hesitant to help the woman who betrayed her, and only God knows, how many times she slept with Jason Reed! For goodness sake, how dare she be to sleep with a human! When she passed out before his eyes, he realized he needed to help her!
“Luna!” Marcus screamed, and then he shouted for assistance.
A few moments later, Kate Fox arrived with a worried expression, and Nadine’s friend gasped in horror upon seeing the woman in his hands.
“What happened to Luna Nadine, Alpha Marcus?” Kate asked while trying to check on Nadine, and she lost the color of her face after seeing the blood on her legs.
“She’s pregnant with that bastard’s baby!” Marcus exclaimed.
