Chapter 44

Chapter 44
“I should stop.”
“No, you shouldn't.”
“This is wrong.”
“Yes, but… it feels good.” I whispered, desperate, because each time he pulled away to speak, I lost the feeling I needed most.
“Elliot…” He said that name—his brother’s name—against my clit, and my body jolted from the waves that rushed through me. His breath alone melted into my skin.
“Y-yeah.” I laid back, spreading my legs even wider. I wasn't thinking straight, and I didn’t care who was who anymore—I just wanted to feel. “Mhm…” I whimpered as he pushed his tongue inside me. I was about to explode.
My hand reached for his head to pull him closer, but before I could, he stopped. Just like that. He stopped and turned his back to me.
I sat up quickly, confusion flooding me. What had just happened? He wanted to stop—again—but I told him not to. He wanted this too. I knew he did. So why?
“Dylan?” I stood, walking toward him slowly. Maybe he thought I was unsure. Maybe he needed reassurance. My hands slid up his arm from behind—he was still fully clothed, all of him warm and untouchable.
“I said don’t stop,” I murmured softly, the words barely brushing the air. I could feel the reaction in his body. His breathing deepened.
“Alex…” he breathed.
I moved in front of him, standing close. His eyes were shut tight, hands clenched at his sides like he was fighting something much stronger than me.
“Why are you fighting this?” I asked, letting my hands trail down my thighs as I slowly lifted my skirt. “You obviously want this.”
His eyes opened—slowly—and locked on what I was doing. His breath hitched again, more erratic, like he was on the edge of something he couldn't name.
“Al–” He didn’t finish the word. His mouth crushed against mine, a kiss so hard and messy it knocked air from my lungs. I could taste myself on his tongue, and it drove me wild.
I didn’t hesitate. My fingers found the zipper of his pants. He was big—bigger than anyone I’d ever been with. Of course he was, he was older than the boys I used to mess with. Dylan was around twenty-six. He was now moving down to my breasts, sucking each one like he was starving for me.
“Aah…” I moaned, my body pulsing between my thighs. I needed him. If he left me like this again, I didn’t know how I’d survive it. I felt feverish—my skin, my thoughts, everything was burning. “Yes, ah!”
I finally reached inside his pants and touched his hard, thick—he pulled away again.
“You should go now,” he said, turning his back on me once more.
I froze, confused and somehow hurt.
I had no idea what just happened. I’d been rejected enough times to know this feeling. My pussy was practically crying, begging to be touched, to be filled, and yet my brain told me to leave. My heart—somehow—agreed. It was still racing, but I needed to calm it.
I didn’t say a word. I turned and walked out quickly, my steps faster than my thoughts. Down the stairs, past whatever this mess was, until—“Alexis, leaving already?” It was Janet. I stopped, breathless and nodded. “Wow, you look…” She paused, tilting her head. “Don’t you want to use the bathroom first?”
I must’ve looked like a mess—my hair, my blouse. Everything screamed sex gone wrong.
“No, I’m good. It was nice to meet you, Jane.” I tried to move past her but she blocked my path.
“Don’t tell me I cooked for nothing. Come eat. It’ll take a minute.”
“I don’t have a minute.” I meant that. I really needed to get out of here.
She must’ve seen how serious I was, because she finally stepped aside. I rushed out the door until I was outside again and back in the car.
I collapsed into the seat and exhaled, trying to forget the whole thing. Shit, I was just about to get it—and then that happened. Again. Last night, he pulled away. Today? Twice.
If it was Elliot, I would understand. He cared so much about image and consequences, but Elliot had slept with me. So this—this was Dylan’s issue.
I rolled down the window as he joined me in the car. The air smelled of cigarettes. He’d been smoking.
“Did Mrs. Perez call you?” he asked casually, referring to his mother the same way I did.
I stared straight ahead.
“Step on the fuel. I can’t stand you,” I said flatly. I meant every word. I was embarrassed. I'd offered myself and got rejected three damn times.
Dylan didn’t say a word. He started the car and drove fast, like the wind could erase everything. I liked the silence. It helped me stay numb.
Soon, we parked in front of the beach house.
“Thank you,” I muttered as I got out, heading for the trunk. I grabbed my bag and walked to the entrance, pressing the bell and waiting. I glanced back. It was dark now, but I could see the faint glow from a cigarette in his hand. He was smoking again.
I rang the bell a second time and yelled, “Hello!”
No answer. My nerves were fried. I didn’t even want to be here. If no one opened, I’d just walk to the beach and scream into the waves.
I was about to turn and leave when the door opened.
My bag dropped from my hand.
“Paris?” I gasped.
It was my stepsister.
What the hell was she doing here?
No. No… Don’t tell me Ximena actually did what she said she’d do. Invited her here to set her up with Elliot in my eyes?!
