Chapter 78

Jackson’s POV

I was in my mother’s quarters talking to her.

“Mom, she’s pregnant.” I told her.

“That’s great news!” She replied.

“Well, it would be great if she were here, except she’s not.” I groaned.

“She’s not here right now, but I saw how you two loved each other. You have some apologizing to do.” Mother said. Apologize? Me? I’ve never done such a thing.

“I don’t think I can do it.” I admitted.

She smacked me upside the head, “I raised you better than that! You don’t have to be a brute like your father, you can be better.”

“I know mom, I just don’t know how.”

“Practice apologizing. It’s that simple. When you’re ready, go to her son. You don’t have to be alone. You can be a part of her life. See if you can join her harem, you saw all those men, what’s one more?”

“I’ll try.” I told mom. I wasn’t sure how to go about apologizing or trying to win her over, but I would try.

Eliza’s POV

My men. MY MEN. I can’t believe I have a group of men. It’s like something out of a fantasy novel, of course, so is vampires, werewolves, etc.

They were talking amongst themselves about building a home for all of us. Liam would still need to visit his place to uphold his duties, Warren and Justin were thinking of selling their home, Luke and Tanner would sell their places as well, and Trey, well he would just need to move out of his mother’s house. I had no idea where Jason lived but he said it wasn’t a problem to move, either.

“Liz, are you alright?” Trey asked me. I must’ve zoned out.

“Yes, I’m great. A little worried about Jackson, though. What if I am pregnant with his child?” I answered.

“We’ll get to it when the time comes, for now, come sit with us.” He said while patting the spot on the couch next to him.

I walked over and sat while looking around the room. Though Luke’s home was familiar, it was weird seeing all these different men in my life come together as one unit.

Knock, knock, knock

Luke got up from his chair to answer the door. On the other side was Jackson. Immediately my defenses raised up and I wanted to run.

“Can I speak with Eliza?” He asked. Luke looked towards me, wanting to know if I felt up to it. I nodded and stood up to walk towards him in the doorway.

“Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of the others.” I told him with my arms crossed in front of my chest.

“Eliza, I love you. I need you. I guess what I’m trying to do is apologize. I had no right to take your memories from you. I was so eager to have you for myself that I took the easy way. Can you forgive me?” He asked.

“I’ll need some time, obviously. But maybe one day I can forgive you.” I told him.

“That’s fine, love. Would you also consider letting me join you all? I need to have you in some way, and with a baby on the way, I’d like to be in his or her life, no matter how it comes about. I’ll love and support you in all your endeavors. Eliza, would you consider that?”

I sighed, I wanted to forgive him immediately and say yes, but I woud need to speak to the others first. After all, this was a group decision. I wasn’t sure how I felt about one more man but I knew I loved Jackson, regardless of what he did in his greedy, desperation.

“I’ll have to speak with the others. I’ll reach out to you when I’ve made a decision. Okay?” I said.

“Okay, love. I’ll await word from you.” He replied before grabbing my hand and kissing the back of it. He stepped out of the doorway and lit a cigarette before walking off.

“What do you guys think?” I asked them. Luke scoffed. “I don’t think I can forgive him for starving us in his dungeon. He has a long way to go.”

“I agree,” Tanner said.

“Well, let’s take our time and think about it, if I am pregnant, I think it would be fair to at least include him in my child’s life.” I said.

“I can understand that, being a father now, myself.” Luke admitted. From upstairs we heard a cry. Luke was awake. I rushed up the stairs and picked him up. Thankful for my perfect little angel. I know that motherhood is everything I’ve ever wanted in life, now that I am a mother. I smiled down at him and gave him kisses all over his face. Luke came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

“Maybe things will settle down now, after all. We’ve overcome so much together.”

“Yes, maybe they will.” I replied with a soft smile.

THREE WEEKS LATER

“You’re pregnant!” The doctor exclaimed. To be honest, I was beyond thrilled. I was planning on going to see Jackson to deliver the news. I also had another surprise for him. My mates and I discussed it and decided that he could join us. I was in love with him and they didn’t want to deprive me of anything in life.

“Let’s go, baby.” Justin said as he took my hand. We would all make an appearance at his estate this morning, he just didn’t know it yet.

The eight of us shuffled out of the doctor’s office and took separate cars to make the journey.

When we arrived, the guards came out and tried to hassle us.

“Do you know who that is?” A voice boomed.

“Sir, I’m sorry, sir.” The main guard spoke, obviously scared.

“Eliza, you look beautiful.” Jackson said as he approached me carefully, probably not wanting to push me too far.

“Let’s go inside, I have to talk to you.” I said.

“I understand, come.” He ushered us all inside and to a main sitting room.

“Jackson, I’ll get straight to the point. Today, a doctor confirmed I’m pregnant with your child.” Tears streamed down his face, he was obviously very emotional.

“That’s amazing, love. Thank you for sharing that with me.” He said with a big smile.

“Also, my mates and I discussed it, you can join us. However, you must understand that I’m not solely yours. We will all raise the children together. No fighting amongst mates. I’ll do my best to divide time equally between everyone as well as spend time together as a group. Now then, we are making plans to find a place for all of us to live. Do you want to join us?” I asked him while twiddling my fingers.

“Why don’t you all come stay here? It’s safe and there’s enough rooms for everyone. I’m sure mother would be fine with it, after all, she encouraged me to push my pride down and ask to join you.” He said with a grin.

“Let’s talk it over. I’m sure we can come up with something.” I told the men. We got to work discussing what to do. My life for once felt truly complete, like nothing could go wrong. We’ve been through many trials together and ended up coming out stronger than ever.
