Rekindling the Fire
For weeks, Sierra and Jeandre had been caught in the storm Victor Dufort unleashed. The scandal, the lawsuits, the constant media scrutiny—it had pushed them to their limits.
But now, it was over.
Victor was gone, his empire ruined, and his influence obliterated.
But the damage he had inflicted on them still lingered.
Jeandre had spent weeks working around the clock, putting out fires at Caddel Financial Group. Sierra had been trapped in the estate, unable to live her normal life, suffocated by reporters and invasive headlines.
They had been so caught up in survival that they hadn’t had a moment to breathe, to be together—not the way they used to.
And Jeandre hated that.
So he decided to fix it.
They needed to get away from everything—to remind themselves why they fought so hard for each other in the first place.
And he knew exactly where to take her.
Jeandre had planned everything in secret.
The morning of their trip, Sierra woke up to find a beautifully wrapped box on her nightstand.
Frowning, she sat up and pulled the ribbon, lifting the lid to reveal a handwritten note in Jeandre’s unmistakable script.
Pack a bag, baby. We’re leaving in an hour.
No work, no stress. Just us.
—Jeandre
Sierra’s heart skipped a beat.
After everything, after the chaos and distance that had formed between them, Jeandre was finally bringing them back together.
Excitement and relief washed over her as she threw open her closet, quickly packing her essentials.
By the time she stepped outside, Jeandre was already waiting by his sleek private car, dressed in casual yet effortlessly expensive clothes, his piercing eyes watching her intently.
Sierra didn’t hesitate.
She ran to him.
And for the first time in weeks, Jeandre held her tightly, his arms strong and warm around her, his scent wrapping around her like home.
“I missed you,” she whispered against his chest.
He exhaled deeply, pressing a kiss to her hair. “Not as much as I missed you.”
And with that, they headed to his private airport and boarded his private jet, leaving the wreckage of the past behind.
When Sierra stepped off the plane, her breath caught in her throat.
Jeandre had brought her to a secluded island resort—a private paradise surrounded by crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and lush palm trees swaying in the warm breeze.
It was breathtaking.
“You did all this?” she asked, turning to him.
Jeandre smirked. “Of course. I always take care of what’s mine.”
A shiver ran down her spine at his possessiveness.
He guided her toward their exclusive beachfront villa, where everything had been prepared—a spacious open-air bedroom overlooking the ocean, a private infinity pool, and a candlelit dinner already waiting on the terrace.
Sierra couldn’t stop staring.
“I think I love it here,” she murmured, stepping onto the balcony, letting the ocean breeze kiss her skin.
Jeandre came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“You haven’t even seen the best part yet,” he whispered against her ear.
She turned in his embrace, looking up at him. “What’s the best part?”
He leaned in, his lips brushing hers. “Us. Alone. No distractions.”
And then he kissed her.
Slowly. Deeply. Like he was making up for every lost second.
For the first time in months, Sierra and Jeandre weren’t being pulled in opposite directions.
Here, away from the chaos, they found each other again.
They spent mornings wrapped in white sheets, tangled together as the golden sun filtered through their bedroom.
Jeandre took her out on sunset yacht cruises, where he poured her wine and fed her strawberries while they watched the sky turn shades of pink and orange.
They walked along the deserted beaches, barefoot, hand in hand, with the waves lapping at their feet.
At night, they sat by the firepit, drinking whiskey and sharing soft, intimate conversations—about their dreams, their fears, their future.
Sierra felt free again.
She laughed more. She relaxed in Jeandre’s arms. She let herself feel safe.
And Jeandre?
He worshiped her.
He kissed every inch of her skin, whispered sweet things against her ear, held her so close at night that not even air could separate them.
He made sure she knew—without a doubt—that she was his, and he was hers.
One evening, after another incredible dinner under the stars, Sierra found herself standing by the water, gazing at the moonlit waves.
Jeandre came up behind her, wrapping a silk shawl around her shoulders.
“Penny for your thoughts?” he murmured.
She sighed, leaning back against him. “I was just thinking… how different things feel now.”
He turned her gently to face him. “Better?”
She nodded, reaching up to trace the line of his jaw. “Better. I just… I don’t ever want us to feel that distant again.”
Jeandre caught her hand, pressing a kiss to her palm. “We won’t,” he vowed. “I won’t let it happen.”
There was something intense in his eyes, something deeper than just love.
Sierra felt her heartbeat quicken.
“Marry me,” he said suddenly.
Her breath hitched.
“What?”
Jeandre’s grip tightened on her waist. “Marry me,” he repeated, his voice low but sure.
Sierra’s mind spun. “Are you serious?”
“I’ve never been more serious about anything,” he said. “I almost lost you once, Sierra. I never want to feel that again. I don’t want to wait. I don’t care what people think. I don’t care about the past. I just know that I want you—forever.”
Tears burned at the corners of her eyes.
“Jeandre—”
“I don’t have a ring,” he admitted, “because I didn’t plan this. But I can buy you a thousand rings if that’s what it takes. Just say yes.”
Sierra laughed softly, her emotions overwhelming her. “You’re insane.”
He grinned. “A little. But for you? I’d be even crazier.”
Her chest tightened with love.
And then—without hesitation—
She said yes.
That night, wrapped in each other’s arms, they weren’t just two lovers escaping reality.
They were two people ready to build a future—one without scandal, without war, without fear.
Victor had tried to destroy them.
But in the end, all he had done was make them stronger.
And now?
Now, they had forever ahead of them.
