Chapter 64 Chapter 64
Tessa
I blinked my eyes repeatedly, trying hard to play it cool and not look suspicious. I turned to face my room, but I heard Jasmine scoff, her voice dripping with disdain and disgust.
I just returned home to find her around. Two of us in the house. Things might be a bit uncomfortable.
"What's wrong with her?" I thought to myself, feeling a surge of anxiety.
I turned back, only to find her eyes glaring at me dangerously, her pupils constricting with anger. I swallowed hard, my thoughts racing wildly inside me.
"See who we have here," she smile like a witch, her voice echoing "Sleeping with someone who's old enough to be her father," she added, her gaze returning to her phone for a second before ravaging me with her eyes.
She dropped her phone, counting her steps closer to me, her heels clicking on the floor. My eyes followed her every step, my heart pounding with anticipation.
"Don't your parents teach you lessons on how not to hook up with a man that's old enough to be your father?" She spat, her brow furrowed in disgust, her hands folded on her chest.
I felt a sting from her words, but I stood my ground.
I know what I did was quite out of it, but why would she involve my mum?
"I won't allow you to talk to my mum anyhow," I replied, giving her my full attention.
"And aside, isn't like I was the only one caught up in this, your dad was also part," I added, my voice firm.
Jasmine's eyes widened, her face reddening with rage. "Really?" She asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.
I shrugged my shoulder, feeling a sense of defiance.
"You heard me right," I replied with a sharp tone.
"Oh, you're now bold enough to say it with your full chest?" Jasmine asked, her voice rising.
"Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Sleeping with your mother husband? Common, girlie, you can do better," she said, her words dripping with venom.
I felt a surge of anger and shameful, but I kept my cool.
I know I should be ashamed of myself,
but why should I? I didn't force myself to Carter he willingly want me.
"I know I should be ashamed of myself, but sorry, I am not," I said, my voice steady. She looked stunned
"So, what are you going to do?" I asked, my eyes locked on hers.
Jasmine's face twisted in frustration, her eyes flashing with anger.
"I'm going to do what you don't expect," Jasmine retorted, her eyes flashing with malice.
"Like what? Telling the whole world we are dating? Huh?" I asked, my voice laced with sarcasm, even though I didn't know if I was in any position to argue with her. But I hated the fact that she mentioned my mum in this.
"Why tell the whole world when I can just tell your mum, so she can see who she calls her daughter?" Jasmine yelled, her face reddening with rage.
My heart sank, and I felt a surge of anxiety.
"You dare not do that, girl," I warned, my voice firm. "If you try that, I'm not going to take things easy with you."
"Then leave my father alone," Jasmine protested, her voice trembling with emotion. "He deserves something better, not you, stinky homewrecker."
I felt a sting from her words, but I stood my ground.
"You can't choose for your dad, girl," I said proudly, trying to convince myself that I meant what I was saying. "He wants me, and I want him."
Jasmine's eyes widened in disgust.
"You are..." Her words trailed off with the sudden opening of the door.
My eyes became wide, seeing my mum stepping into the house with a mouth wide open.
"What's going on here?" she asked, dropping the bag in her hand.
Jasmine stared at me like she was threatening to tell Mum about our argument. I shook my head, regretting each of the words I had said to her. I should have begged instead of saying what I didn't mean.
"What if she tells Mum about this?" I thought, panic setting in. "What am I going to do?"
"Can someone answer me, please?" Mum asked again, her voice firm.
I swallowed hard, trying to think of an excuse.
Jasmine's gaze didn't leave mine, her eyes still blazing with anger.
I wanted to say something, but I couldn't find my voice. My eyes searched around each corner, desperately seeking an escape.
"Tessa," my mum called, her eyes staring deep into my soul. "What caused the argument?" she asked, her voice firm but laced with concern.
My voice stammered, not knowing what to say. "It's...I..." I trailed off, feeling my face flush with anxiety.
Mum's gaze turned to Jasmine, who shot me a venomous glance. My breathing began trembling, and I shook my head, pleading for her to keep quiet.
"Please don't say anything," I pleaded in a low tone , my heart racing.
But Jasmine wouldn't relent.
"You should ask your shameless daughter," Jasmine retorted, her voice dripping with malice before storming out of the house.
A sigh of relief escaped my lips, even though I didn't know if this was the end of me.
"What's wrong with her?" Mum murmured, confusion etched on her face, before directing her gaze back to me.
"Can you tell me what's happening?" Mum asked again, her voice softer this time.
I shook my head, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes.
"It's nothing, Mum," I said hastily, matching out of her sight and heading to my room. Tears began falling down my cheeks.
What am I going to do now? Jasmine doesn't look like someone who will back off easily.
I closed the door, locking it despite hearing my mum's calling me. I walked to the bed, falling on it heavily.
"This isn't going well," I thought, panic setting in. "Something isn't right."
I buried my face in my pillow, feeling overwhelmed.
Why did Jasmine have to come into our lives? Why did I have to be having fun with her father?
My thoughts swirled, and my heart ached.
