Chapter 32 Chapter 32

Chapter 32 Chapter 32

Tessa

My eyes were wide and I couldn't comprehend the scene unfolding in front of me right now.

Mr. Carter was staring at me with a sly smile crept on his lips.

"Did I have an eye problem?" I contemplate, running my palm on my eyes but it was still the same.

I woke myself up, It wasn't like I wasn't expecting him to wake or something but it was too sudden to feel real. I mean?

"Mr. Carter!" I finally exclaimed accepting the scene in front of me, astonishment etched on my face, my eyes wide with joy.

I rushed toward him, my feet moving swiftly, a smile spreading across my face. He smiled weakly, his eyes sparkling, warmth radiating from his gaze.

I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug, relief washing over me. "I'm so glad you're awake!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling with tears.

Mr. Carter's frail arms enveloped me, his face still pale, but a hint of color had returned.

"Easy, Tessa don't choke me," he whispered, his voice low and soothing.

I released him, concern flooding in my face.

"How are you feeling?" I asked, my brow was furrowed.

"I'm fine," he replied his voice was low and his eyes were crinkling at the corners.

He lifted his body and settled into the bed, his pale face contrasting with the hospital's white sheets, a faint smile on his lips.

I hesitated, wanting to touch him but unsure where my hands hovering. After a long day of waiting finally, he's awake.

Why had I missed him so much? I wondered.

"Where's your mom?" he lifted his lips, his gaze searching around.

"She went to work not long ago," I replied, my voice coming out as a whisper. "She'll be back soon," I replied.

I reached for my phone to call Mom. But his hands encircled my arms, his touch sending shivers through me.

He pulled me up to sit beside him, his eyes locking onto mine. My heart skipped multiple beats, his usual hand enveloping my waist.

"Stay with me for a bit," he pronounced, his voice low and gentle. My heart raised and it felt like it would soon explode.

I wanted to push him away but rather, I nodded my head, and my body became frozen.

Our proximity made me acutely aware of his presence, my cheeks flushing.

The hospital room faded into the background. All that mattered now was Mr. Carter, awake and beside me. His hands on me, his breath filling up my face. That's enough to ask.

His gaze held mine, his eyes burning with intensity Desire like he would eat me up alive.

I felt the air thicken between us, my heart pounded in anticipation.

Without saying a word, Mr. Carter leaned in. His face drew closer, his lips inches from mine. I closed my eyes, my breath catching in my throat.

"I miss your lips" he uttered softly, his lips brushed against mine. A jolt of electricity ran through me.

I felt alive, his lips moved gently, teasing me curtly.

I parted my lips, inviting him deeper, and our lips melded together.

Time froze, my thoughts disappeared, and all that existed was us.

The kiss became deepened as his hand drifted to my waist. Then, unexpectedly, his fingers grazed my breast, a moan lifting my lips.

I pulled back, surprisedly.

"Mr. Carter!" I whispered carefully, my cheeks flushing. "Why would you think of this now?" I asked a little shyness in my tone

He chuckled weakly. "Can't help it," he whispered.

"You're more beautiful now, Tess," he smiled.

I blushed deeper, His eyes sparkled with desire.

"I've missed you," he said. Our lips met again. This time, the kiss was deeper, and more passionate as if making up for lost time.

The moment lasted for minutes, our lips parted, and we gazed into each other's eyes. Mr. Carter's fingers tangled in my hair. "I missed you," he whispered again. I felt my heart swell, but words failed me.

Just then, footsteps echoed outside. My pulse quickened. I flung up on the bed, my palm resting on my chest.

The door swung open, and Mr. Grumpy entered, his face a mix of relief and surprise. "Welcome back to life, Mr. Carter," he said immediately after he saw him. "How are you feeling? Any discomfort or pain?" He pressed further.

"I'm feeling much better, thank you," he replied with a smile. "Just a bit weak."

Just a little bit weak? And he thought of making out with me? What a great liar.

"That's to be expected. I'll let the doctor know you're awake and recovering well." Mr. Grumpy nodded. He glared at me before matching out.

Once he left Mr. Carter's expression turned tender. He pulled me back onto the bed, his arms enveloping me. He stared into my being, my cheeks turning red.

His lips met mine again, and the world melted away. His kiss was gentle, yet passionate, sending shivers down my spine. I felt his fingers tangled in my hair, pulling me closer.

Our lips danced the tension between us building. His tongue traced my lips, and I parted them, inviting him deeper.

I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him closer. Our hearts beat as one, the rhythm intensifying.

The kiss was deepened, our passion igniting. I felt alive, electrified by Mr. Carter's touch.

But reality intruded, and I remembered my mom could arrive any minute. Reluctantly, I pushed him away.

"Stop," I whispered urgently.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his eyes burning with desire.

"Mom will be back any moment now," I warned. And his face fell, but he nodded.

"We have a lot to cover up, Tess," he said, his voice low and husky.

I understand the unsaid word. More deeper.

Just then, the door burst open, and my mom stepped in. I held my breath, hoping she wouldn't notice anything.

"Mom!" I exclaimed, trying to sound casual.

"Hey sweetie!" she said, her eyes scanning the room before settling on Mr. Carter.
