Chapter 27
I am aware that he is creating an opportunity for Alpha to notice her, and it infuriates me. Alpha Damien smiled at her and agreed. Naturally, I wasn't going to back down, so I volunteered to join the wolves' training as well.
"Can I join them too, Alpha?" I inquired.
"Y-yes," Alpha Damien responded.
I noticed Aryana's displeased expression upon hearing my request, but there was nothing she could do since Alpha had granted my wish. I looked at her with a smile and invited her to join the wolves who were practicing. Pretending is nothing new to me, so it's easy to act friendly in front of Alpha.
"Let's go, Aryana," I said with a smile.
It took a few seconds before Aryana answered and joined me. I could tell that she sensed I was just toying with her in front of Alpha. I challenged her to a fight to test our strength, but I had a plan in mind, so I simply smiled. I could clearly see the annoyance on Aryana's face, and that's exactly what I wanted. I wanted her to be angry with me and hurt me.
A few minutes later, the fight between the two of us began. She attacked me, but I purposely didn't move, allowing her to hit me in the face. I felt the pain, but I endured it.
She followed up with a punch, and she smiled when it landed in my stomach, causing me to bend down and fall to my knees. However, Alpha Damien intervened and suddenly shouted for us to stop our fight.
"Stop that!" he shouted.
He immediately came over to me and supported my back. I could see the worry on his face. I simply smirked and noticed Aryana frowning and raising her eyebrows.
"Stop it, Aryana!" Alpha said angrily.
"Why, Alpha? It's normal for me to hurt her in a fight, so let us fight fairly," Aryana firmly replied.
"That's enough! I don't want to see her hurt, so please stop!" Alpha Damien pleaded strongly.
"Why are you so overprotective when it comes to her, Alpha?!" Aryana asked firmly.
"I've already told you, Aryana. She's my mate, and nothing can change that," Alpha Damien answered seriously.
"But you are so... grrr," she expressed her annoyance.
I experienced a strange sensation once more. The impact of his words on me was unexpectedly strong. Ignoring my emotions, I shifted my focus to Aryana. She shook her head and walked away from us.
Damien and I locked eyes as he leaned on me. His bright eyes, pointed nose, and red lips captivated me. I couldn't help but admire his handsome face. Why does he have this effect on me?
"You should have just let me go. It's normal in the midst of an argument. One of us might get hurt, or maybe both. Maybe she's right, you're too overprotective," I remarked.
"Can you blame me for wanting to shield you from potential harm?" he asked softly.
"I'm not going to die just yet, Alpha," I replied with a smile.
He furrowed his brows at my words. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable he looked when he was upset. Wait, what am I thinking, Amelia?!
I was taken aback when he suddenly lifted me up and carried me to a nearby cement bench. I couldn't quite comprehend my emotions at that moment, but I pushed them aside for the time being.
"Can I speak with Aryana first?" he inquired gently.
"Why do you need to talk to her?" I asked, feeling irritated.
"I know I shouldn't have raised my voice at her. Even if I didn't agree with what she did to you, it wasn't right for me to raise my voice," he explained.
His words irked me. How significant is that woman to him? Why is he so concerned about her feelings?
"I promise I'll be back soon," he assured.
"Can it wait? Stay here with me first, please," I pleaded.
He nodded and smiled at my request. I pretended to be in pain, clutching my leg, to persuade him to remain by my side. I let out a scream as if I were in agony.
I let out a sigh."Amelia," he exclaimed in a panic."Where are you feeling pain?" he asked, looking confused."Here," I indicated towards my legs.
"Hold on, I'll give you a massage," he offered as he gently held my legs and started massaging them.
"Elevate it," I instructed him.
He lifted his hand towards my legs, and I took hold of it, guiding his hands to the lower part of my thighs. I noticed him gulp nervously as he touched my legs.
"Are you sure about this, Amelia?" he inquired.
"Yes, take it easy, Alpha," I reassured him softly.I could sense his hands getting clammy as he massaged my legs.
I couldn't help but smile, knowing he was trying to control his thoughts about me. It was amusing to watch him struggle.
"Go on, keep torturing yourself, Alpha. I know you won't be able to resist for long," I thought to myself with a grin.
I held his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. We shared a sweet smile and locked eyes for a moment, until Aryana's voice interrupted us from behind.
Aryana's words didn't sit well with me, and Alpha Damien immediately rose to defend our actions. I could sense jealousy in her tone, but I wasn't going to let her dictate our choices.
"What's the problem, Aryana?" Alpha questioned, his expression stern.
"Crema needed help with her foot, so I assisted her. There's nothing wrong with that," Alpha Damien clarified.
I locked eyes with Aryana and spoke confidently. She seemed irritated by my response, but I wasn't going to back down.
"You don't owe her any explanations, Alpha. She has no authority over you or your actions," I asserted firmly.
"That's not the point. Keep your good deeds private, not on display in a public setting!" Aryana retorted firmly.
