Noels Attack

Samuel's love story was not as smooth as Curtis'. He had to face a strong rejection from Noel. The king did not want Samuel to have a relationship with an ordinary man with the rank of captain. If Samuel was a Duke and had the title of Commander, Noel would not have opposed Yerenika's relationship.

He realized this hatred by sending a hitman to finish Samuel off.

Samuel, who suddenly found several people blocking his horse, began to feel suspicious. He was sure that these people were not ordinary people.

"Who are you?"

They did not answer. The hitmen drew their swords at Samuel. Their movements were fast and professional-looking. Unfortunately, they forgot that Samuel was also a powerful werewolf.

"Whoever sent you is a fool," Samuel muttered as he hit the last assassin.

Of course he thought those who sent the hitmen were fools. Because they did not master natural elemental magic at all. And the number sent was only five people. Whereas it took ten thousand ordinary soldiers to kill him.

Samuel continued his journey leisurely. Actually, he could guess that the one who sent all the soldiers was Noel.

"Your Highness, the people we sent were all defeated by Captain Samuel," reported Noel's new advisor Yura.

"What!?" Noel was so shocked that he stood up from his seat. He couldn't fathom how that man could defeat five chosen men.

So Samuel faced them easily. He simply moved quickly and knocked all the hitmen unconscious.

Noel began to turn pale. He really didn't expect that defeating one of Curtis' trusted captains could be so difficult.

"Where is he now?" Nole asked irritably.

"Still on the way to the royal city," replied Yura.

Noel bit his lip. His brain was working hard to stop Samuel from traveling. Suddenly he had an idea that popped into his head.

"Yura, send in the archers. Lace their arrows with poison and attack Samuel using the poisoned arrows," Noel ordered.

If humans couldn't defeat Samuel, Noel was confident that the man could be defeated using poison. Not a single creature could escape poison.

"Good, I can finally stop him from coming here." Noel's sardonic smile spread perfectly. What he was thinking about now was not his sister's happiness but his desire to strengthen his position must not fail. Yerenika was just one of the sacrifices he had to make.

The man had forgotten that he only had one blood family, his sister. He also forgot that he once promised his sister to be the happiest daughter in the world. Everything seemed to evaporate just for the sake of power.

The troops ordered by Noel moved immediately. They entered the forest secretly while waiting for Samuel's arrival. In their hands were arrows that could be released at any time.

After waiting for three hours, Samuel finally arrived at the forest that protected the royal city and separated the city from the village. The soldiers immediately got ready. Honestly, they were very tense. After all, what they were facing was a werewolf.

Samuel smelled that there were some soldiers waiting for him. They were all hiding behind a tree. Samuel began to wonder if they would attack directly or not.

'Will they gang up on me when I enter the forest?' Samuel asked himself.

Samuel just shook his head at the thought of how sloppy their ambush had been. He was undeterred and entered the artificial forest anyway. Unexpectedly, hundreds of flames flew towards him.

The surprised Samuel jumped up. And there were hundreds more arrows flying towards him. He had to work hard and fast to avoid them.

"You're making me angry!"

Although he was not as strong as Curtis but Samuel also had a great ability. The man shot flames from his mouth towards the forest where the ambush money men were hiding.

Whoosh.

The fire quickly spread, causing the people to scatter. They ran away because they were hit by Samuel's fire.

"Water!"

"Help!" The soldiers affected by the fire immediately ran to find a water source. No one stayed behind to take orders. With this, it was certain that Noel's plan had failed.

Samuel snorted in annoyance. He realized that Noel really wanted to get in the way of his goal. He grew impatient and wanted to take Yerenika away.

'If only Yerenika was willing,' Samuel thought. He was bound by a promise to Yerenika to win Noel's blessing. Something he had to do even though Noel desperately wanted to separate him and Yerenika. If he wasn't bound by his promise to Yerenika, everything would be easy.

"I can't give up," Samuel murmured.

He resumed his journey. He sped his horse towards the royal gate

Now he was sure that nothing would stop him from heading to the royal city. Noel must have heard what happened to the people the man had sent.

...

On the other side, Yerenika met Noel. She stared coldly at her brother who she defended and became a terrible man. Greed had apparently taken hold of her brother.

"Brother, I think you know what happened to your soldiers, right?" Yerenika asked directly. She didn't want to talk nonsense and challenged Noel head-on.

"Yerenika, you're a princess but you chose an ordinary man instead. That's not acceptable to me at all."

Yerenika pursed her lips. Her eyes narrowed in disgust.

"Father really failed to educate you."

Noel was silent. He was getting angry that Yerenika had offended his father.

"What do you mean!? You have no right to say that to me!"

"You can't even see the opportunities that exist but act like a king. If you're like this then don't be surprised if your throne is usurped by another noble. Because you really are a fool!"

"Yerenika!" Noel shouted. But the girl wasn't afraid. She still reproached her brother even though he was a king.

"If you want to know what foolishness you're doing then wait for Samuel. He will give you something that will make you realize how stupid you are!"

Noel's face was full of questions. What the hell was he supposed to do? He felt innocent. His sister should have married into high nobility.

"If you still don't understand, then just wait for Samuel. I'm sure he will come soon," Yerenika hissed. If he was not her sister then she would destroy this annoying man. It wouldn't have been difficult to do so if she had the support of Swana and Curtis. But that fool was completely clueless and unaware.

Noel didn't answer but he did what his brother did. He was honestly curious about what Samuel had brought.

'Did I really not see the opportunity before my eyes?' Samuel asked himself.

Not long after, the report from the royal guards came. They reported that Samuel had arrived at the gates and asked for permission to meet. And for some reason, Noel began to fidget. Had it not been for his sister, he would have refused the meeting.

The bodyguard headed towards them. He bowed before speaking.

"Your Highness, Captain Samuel of the North requests permission to see you personally. "

Noel glanced at his sister who was staring intently.

"Yes, I will. Let her in. "

"Yes, Your Highness." The bodyguard walked backward before finally turning around.

"Captain Samuel has arrived!"

Noel's heart grew more and more uneasy. It was just too late to leave. Samuel was already here.

'Tsk this sucks, ' Noel thought.
