Chapter 42

Adrian’s POV

Amani had told me that it is best for me to keep calm till she gives birth and that's what I will do because if I fight now, they would think it. After all, I am the bad one here. I want them to see what they had dumped me into. I don't want them judging Elisabeth when she returns to the pack.

I plan to keep her to myself. Once I'm done telling the world the true face of Linda, I would marry Elisabeth and crown her as my Luna.

"Fine I will go bring her back," I said to them with a defeated look.

I was going to act like a fool and not even allow Linda to know my plans till I'm done with all of them.

"That's a very good thing Alpha. Now your people will be happy, '' they said to me.

I nodded my head. After they were dismissed, I gritted my teeth and hit my table in anger. Then I sighed resting my back on the chair.

"Lisa, please come back to me" I pleaded in my heart.

I start to think of all our good days together. How she would smile at me and tell me calm words when I'm angry or sad. How we trained secretly together. She was really obedient. I didn't know how I allowed Linda to seduce me. Seduce me to the extent of me leaving the one I truly love just because of lust. Now I'm regretting everything.

When I had told my Beta that I was going to bring Linda back, he too looked satisfied. He must have thought me to be a fool. He was happy when I ignored Linda and let her stay at her father's house but now going back to take her, he was not happy at all but he didn't say anything.

"Isn't your vacation over?" I had told Linda when I got to her father's house.

She gave me a rebellious look.

"You and I know that I am not here for vacation" she snapped at me.

I chuckled but didn't smile. All these I was forcing myself to do.

" Then what are you here for?" I asked her like I never knew.

" Don't play a joke with me, Adrian. I have had enough. Enough of you treating me like trash. Enough of you making me feel like I mean nothing to you. When you knew that you can't let go of Lisa, why did you marry me and impregnate me? I am so done with you calling her name when having sex with me" she rushed out and then tears started to flow down her cheek.

Funny enough, I wasn't moved at all. I felt like she was acting it. Although my face looked pained, it was as if it was all fake to me but then I needed to convince her and those stupid old men.

"I thought you were comfortable with it?" I asked her.

I could remember she was even the one that told me that I can do it. That I can see her as Elisabeth l, why then is she sad?

"Yes, that was before we got married. Now she's gone and you are mine. Shouldn't you also have me in your heart" she shouted.

She was shouting even though I'm close to her. I'm sure those outside were hearing her voice. She had refused to see me so I had to go up to her room to talk to her. Now I understand how foolish I was back then. She had used being fine with me seeing her as Elisabeth to lure me to her bed. That's how she caught the foolish me. Well, I will change it all. Let me continue to behave like the fool I am being called to be.

"Hey, u have you in my heart. I just thought you love being called that" I said with a remorseful look.

Yes, I truly have her in my heart, just that it's the opposite of what she thought. I went to her and hugged her.

"I don't mean to get you angry, my Luna. You are mine" I said to her.

" Are you sure?" She asked looking up at me.

I used my tomb to wipe her tears and kissed her lips. It took all my will to do that because right now, this woman is already disgusting to me. I hate her with perfect hatred.

One for her cheating on me, two, for her making me lose the most precious thing I could ever have.

She smiled at me when I broke the kiss and I smiled back.

"I miss you so much Adrian," she said.

The sadness she had been showing me earlier had disap6 from her eyes and I wondered how it could be that fast.

Then she moved herself away from me and started to strip herself naked.

"What are you doing? I asked her to widen my eyes.

"What do you think?" She gave me a seductive smile.

I don't know if she's just never satisfied with sex because I'm sure that she is definitely seeing the one she has been sleeping with every day.

"Linda, people are out there waiting for us," I said to her.

I was trying to see if I could avoid her but then my body is a bastard. I know I must do something so as not to get attracted to her body again. I didn't want to disappoint Elisabeth the second time.

She moved closer to me and took my hands, she rubbed them on her baby bump. It was so annoying that I felt like pulling out the baby in it but I had to pretend.

She kissed me again and started to rub me beneath. Then, as my usual, I started to think of Elisabeth. That was how I was able to carry Linda to the bed and give her sex like a starved dog. I really miss Elisabeth and I had imagined how I will take her for the first time when she's back to me. I must be very gentle and not treat her like this whore beneath me.

Aleksander’s Pov

Work had been delayed because I didn't show up. Now that my woman is up, I am ready to go deal with Chris. I know he too would have been anticipating my coming.

I walked into the basement of the house that he kept. He was there all tied up in two silver chains.

At first, he didn't notice me but later he did and a big smile crawled to his face.

"Here comes the Alpha King," he said sarcastically.

I looked at him like a mad man. I stood in front of him like a god looking at stubborn subordinates. My hands were in my pick and my mouth pouted a little and I squinted my eyes at him. I wasn't even bothered by his stupid words or smiles.

"I thought you were going to hide in your hole forever," he said again.

I know what he is doing. He is trying to get me angry but I was too happy to get angry.

"Aren't you too ashamed at how you were being brought here like a wimp?" I asked him.

How we easily captured him was enough pride for me. He has been on the run for years and I'm sure he didn't get it coming.

He glared at me and I gave him a cold smile.

"I have been trying to capture you but a little woman did. Isn't that too embarrassing Chris?" I asked him again.

His face turned red and I know his wolf was trying to take control but then he is already bound with silver and now he was just a barking dog.

"Don't you dare feel so glorious Aleksander? I am going to have my revenge" he said to me.

He has always been talking about revenge but then I didn't know what I did to him to warrant all these attitudes. It wasn't my fault that I was mated to the woman he loved. He should have blamed the moon goddess for that, not me.

"You are not the only one here to get revenge. I want revenge for all the people you killed" I said to him.

He had killed a lot of people in the kingdom and even outside. Many people had come to ask me for help to capture him.

"You can kill me but then I will make sure I get revenge for Becca before I die" he shouted.

Becca, that is the name of my mate. The one whom Chris killed. I looked at him like he was insane, I was really trying to put my anger in check but then I could see Becca lying on the floor cold-blooded.

"Revenge? After you killed her" I said in a thick voice.

I had spoken between my teeth because I was really angry. Chris's face looked shocked.

"Kill her? Why would I kill her? I love her with all of my heart but you killed her because you don't want me to have her" I said with so much animosity in his eyes.

Tears strolled down his eyes as he talked. The Chris I once knew isn't a pretender and he wouldn't deny what he did. Now I'm really confused. I had seen him with Becca that time I found her. Although I had injured him so badly, he still escaped. Now him saying that he didn't kill her, isn't that too much of a lie?

"Don't you dare give me that lie!" I growled at him.

" I met Becca in her cold blood when I was trying to kidnap her. Why will I kill the only thing that made sense to me? Don't you dare pretend like you don't know Aleksander! You killed her!" He shouted in a loud voice.

His voice rolled around the room and it was as if water was poured all over me. If Chris didn't kill Becca, who did? I was sure no one could enter where I kept Becca.

Becca isn't a ranked wolf and that was the reason I want to protect her the most. The reason I had told her to stay away from the battle.

I had known that Chris was going to come for her, so I went to hide her, while we fought the rogues that filled Chris. Becca had protested and wanted to fight with us but then I wouldn't want to rush her life. I didn't want Chris to have her. But then when I went back to check on her, I saw her on the floor, she had been stabbed and blooming was flowing like streams out of her body. I also met Chris there. His claws were out and his hand was on her body, so it was obvious that he killed her.

The last word Becca said was Chris and I'm sure she's telling me that he killed her. Now he is denying it.

"Don't you dare to deny it!" I shouted at him.

My heart was already hurting. I didn't want to believe that someone killed Becca and that the person must be among my people. I don't want him to talk me into rubbish.

"You are everything aside stupid. You know that if I didn't kill Becca someone close to you must have. Not everyone you know is a saint. They surely have their reasons to hurt you but I didn't kill Becca and I hate you because she died because of you. You got her killed. If you had let her be with me, I'm sure she wouldn't have met her death. You wouldn't have died so young. You are such a self-beast. Everything has to go your own way even if it will hurt them" he shouted at me.

Every one of his words hit me so hard. My heart hurt like it was being pierced with a knife. This is not me. I shouldn't allow his words to affect me. I didn't do anything wrong. Becca is my mate and she is meant for me.

Well, the pain there is when she was with me she met her death. She wouldn't have died if she didn't marry me. Chris was right.

Nicholas walked in and saw me holding my chest in pain. He rushed to me.

"Alek. Are you alright?" He asked me with a worried look.

" I'm fine," I groaned.

"He is not fine. He is such a selfish one. No one will love you!" Chris shouted.

" Shut up you bastard!" Nicholas shouted.

" I won't. The ghost of Becca will taunt you to death. You are the reason for her death. You killed her!" He continued talking.

Nicholas went to him in anger and hit him hard. Chris didn't try to fight back. He just kept on laughing. The more Nicholas hit him, the more he laughed. Blood was coming out of his mouth joined with his saliva.

I went to Nicholas to stop him from hitting him. He is already a hopeless man.

"Leave him, let him kill me. I will be glad to go accompany my Becca where she is" he said with a smiling face.

What he said shocked me. So he had wanted to die all the while.

"Sorry buddy, I'm not going to kill you. You've killed too many people for me to just give you such a merciful punishment" I said to him.

He then started to struggle on the chair that he was tied to.
