Chapter 11: Take Care
Meredith cautiously followed Damien, Magnus, and Xavier back to the main packhouse. Members of the pack went about their daily routines, some in human form, others in their wolf forms. Damien carefully led her into the foyer, where a large map of the territory was pinned to the wall.
"This is the heart of our territory," he said firmly. "It's important for you to understand the layout. We have various sections. The training grounds, the communal areas, and the private quarters.”
Meredith studied the map. "What's the purpose of the different sections?"
Magnus stepped up beside her. "The training grounds are for physical conditioning and combat practice," he said patiently. "The communal areas are where we gather for meetings, meals, and socializing. Private quarters are for personal space.”
Xavier added, "And you'll need to be familiar with all of them. As Luna, you'll be expected to attend meetings, oversee activities, and sometimes mediate conflicts."
Meredith nodded hesitantly, absorbing the information as much as she could. "And what about the pack members?" she asked. "How do I get to know them?"
Damien placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You'll have time. For now, it's important that you get acquainted with the pack house. Soon we'll introduce you to key members, and they'll help you adjust."
They moved through the house, showing her the kitchen, the dining area, and the library. After the tour, they made their way to the training grounds. The open area was surrounded by forest and equipped with various training apparatuses. Meredith silently watched as pack members engaged in drills, sparring with each other and practicing their skills.
"This is where you'll spend a lot of your time," Damien said, his gaze sweeping over the area. "Training is essential for both physical fitness and mastering your new abilities."
"And you'll be teaching me all of this?" Meredith asked.
Magnus nodded. "We'll start with the basics and build from there. You'll learn everything from combat techniques to how to control your wolf form."
Xavier added softly, "And don't worry if it seems overwhelming at first. We'll go at your pace."
They continued to walk, Damien pointing out key members who would be involved in her training. Each person was introduced with a brief description of their role in the pack.
Damien took her aside after. "There's one more thing we need to discuss," he said firmly. "The upcoming full moon. It's a significant time for all werewolves, especially for you as you begin your transformation."
Meredith's heart skipped a beat. "The full moon? What happens then?"
"Your transformation will be more pronounced. It's when your wolf instincts will fully awaken. It's essential that you are prepared both mentally and physically."
"But what if I'm not ready yet?" she asked.
Damien's expression softened. "It's normal to be scared. The full moon will test you, sure. But if you overcome it, you'll come out stronger."
Meredith took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing thoughts. “Alright...”
The next day, the sun was just beginning to rise as Meredith prepared for her very first training session. Damien, as the Alpha, took charge. “Let's start with the basics,” he began. “We'll focus on physical conditioning and basic combat skills.”
Meredith nodded enthusiastically. “I'm ready!”
Damien soon led her through a series of warm-up exercises. His movements were precise. Meredith pushed herself to keep up, matching his pace as best as she could.
“Come on!” Xavier called out, grinning as he demonstrated a series of agility drills. “Just think of it like a dance.”
Meredith couldn't help but smile. “A dance, huh? I didn't realize I was joining a dance troupe.”
“Exactly!” Xavier laughed. “Just more sweat.”
As they moved through the drills, Xavier challenged Meredith to races and quick sprints. “If you can catch me, I'll buy you dinner!”
Magnus meanwhile watched Meredith closely. During brief breaks, he would approach her with a gentle smile, offering water. “You're doing great, Little Wolf,” he said softly. “Just remember to breathe and pace yourself.”
“Thanks, Magnus. It means a lot.”
Meredith soon practiced striking and blocking moves.
“Good,” Damien said. “You're picking this up quickly.”
Meredith wiped sweat from her brow, breathing heavily. “I'm trying my best.”
“And you're doing better than most of our recruits on their first day.” Xavier winked.
After the training, Damien gathered everyone. “You did well today, Meredith. We'll continue to build on this foundation in the coming weeks.”
Xavier clapped his hands together. “And remember, you're not just training to become a great Luna. You're also getting ready for some fun nights under the full moon!”
Magnus took Meredith's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “We believe in you.”
Meredith looked at each of them. “Thank you all," she said gently. "For everything...”
As Meredith finally settled into the plush armchair by the window, she looked up to find Damien, Xavier, and Magnus gathered around her. Damien approached first. “You've worked hard today,” he said. “You deserve to relax.”
He guided her gently from the chair. As he led her to the bed, he began to remove her training clothes. The fabric fell away, revealing her flushed skin, and Damien's eyes lingered on her.
Xavier, watching with a playful smirk, stepped closer and began to softly caress Meredith's shoulders. “Now it's time to enjoy a different kind of workout.” His hands slid down her back, tracing soothing patterns that made Meredith shiver. He leaned in and pressed soft kisses along her neck.
Magnus approached with a gentle smile, his hands cradling Meredith's face. “Let us take care of you,” he said softly. Magnus's lips met hers in a slow, passionate kiss. His hands moved to her waist as he deepened the kiss. Meredith felt a surge of desire building within her.
They guided her onto the bed, Damien's lips trailing down her length. The room was filled with soft moans and whispers as the three men took turns attending to Meredith. Xavier's playful touches and Magnus's tender caresses left Meredith breathless.
Eventually, the room was quiet except for the soft sounds of their breathing. Meredith lay between Damien, Xavier, and Magnus. As she drifted off to sleep, nestled between her mates, she felt a sense of peace. For the first time, she was surrounded by those who truly cared for her.
