Chapter 252 Bonus – Babymoon Relaxation
Chapter 252 Bonus – Babymoon Relaxation
Lainey’s POV
After amazing French toast for breakfast and having a quick rendezvous in the shower, we were off to catch the jet to Half Moon Bay Airport in California. It took 3 and a half hours to get there and then a short drive to the resort.
“Oh my gosh,” I exclaimed, looking out the window. “It looks like we're in Scotland.” The large castle-like resort dominated the coast, set against the rugged California coastline. A rolling emerald green golf course surrounded the resort. As we stepped out of the car, I could hear the distant crash of the waves against the shore below the cliffs the resort was perched on. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed Ben’s cheek. “You spoil me way too much,” I beamed.
The view from our 1 bedroom ocean-view suite was spectacular, especially through the floor-to-ceiling windows. I walked to the patio door and rested my hands on my belly. Ben came up behind me, hugged me, and placed his hands on my tummy.
“Do you like it?” He asked.
“I love it,” I replied. I looked over and spotted a fire pit. “A fire pit?!?” I squealed, opening the door and rushing out, Ben following me, chuckling. “Can we make s'mores tonight?”
“Yes, but once we’re dressed warmer and wrapped in blankets out here,” Ben advised. “I don’t want you to catch a cold.”
“Yes, Daddy,” I teased.
“You know what that does to me when you call me that,” Ben smirked, lifting me off my feet and carrying me back inside.
I shrieked and begged him to put me down, which he did. “Well, I wasn’t expecting you to listen,” I giggled.
“We have plans in the spa in 20 minutes,” Ben informed me.
“Ok, let me go freshen up,” I told him, walking into the bedroom. The suite was beautifully decorated in cream and taupe with upscale marble accents. Oh my gosh! There was a welcome note on the bed with a basket of s'mores supplies. Ben may never get me away from the fire pit tonight.
I quickly freshened up in the bathroom and headed out to the living room, carrying the s'mores basket.
“Are you ready to…” Ben said, pausing. “Really?” He chuckled.
“It’s our welcome gift,” I scoffed. I placed it down on the table. “We’ll use it later.”
Ben grabbed my sweater and helped me put it on. “It’s a little windy for just a sundress,” he said, smiling.
“You take such good care of me,” I grinned.
"This is exactly how I should be treating you,” Ben declared. “You are my greatest treasure, and you’re forced to carry three of my spawn."
I laughed, “Spawn? What am I? A fish?”
“Why would you be a fish?” Ben asked, confused.
“Spawn. Biology. You really did suck at it in prep school, didn’t you?” I giggled. “Spawn is usually used for fish or frogs laying eggs.”
“My offspring?” Ben questioned.
“Sure,” I chuckled.
We walked towards the spa. The sprawling hotel spa overlooked the ocean, and the smell of lavender and eucalyptus drifted in the space.
“Welcome, Mrs. Halesten. My name is Gwen. Please follow me,” she said, smiling. I followed her down the hallway. “The treatments we have for you today are specially designed relaxation for expectant mothers.”
“Perfect, Gwen,” I replied. “Relaxation is just what I need.”
“We even have a special maternity massage table that has a hole for your belly,” Gwen grinned.
I almost cried at the thought. Stupid pregnancy emotions.
Gwen smiled, knowing exactly what I was thinking. “Here is your changing room key,” Gwen said after unlocking the door. “I’ll wait for you to get your robe on.”
After I changed into the robe, I followed Gwen down the hallway to the treatment room. I stepped inside to find Ben lying on one of the massage tables. “What took you so long?” Ben teased.
“I had to pee again,” I giggled, dropping my robe.
Ben drew in a sharp breath that turned into a moan.
“Benjamin, stop objectifying me,” I teased.
“Have you seen yourself?!?” Ben grinned. “That perfect booty, the beautiful baby bump, your…”
“Do not finish that sentence!” I responded, holding my hand up.
Gwen laughed, “I wish my husband would react to me like that.”
“Exactly,” Ben replied. “See, Gwen is a smart woman.
”
“Mrs. Halesten, please lie stomach down,” Gwen advised, guiding my belly into the divot in the table. "Comfortable?"
"Honestly, I haven't been comfortable in over 4 months," I stated. “I have a feeling that my children will have my husband’s large head.”
“Hey! I heard that,” Ben smirked.
Gwen laid the sheet over my bum and started to rub gentle strokes on my shoulders. All the tension in my body seemed to melt with every move of her hands. At one point, I think I forgot that Ben was in the room completely. Halfway through, Gwen had me flip to my back, and she worked on my neck, scalp, and legs. The best part was that the triplets seemed to be as relaxed as I was, because there was no kicking, no gymnastics, or cage fighting in my stomach.
Ben stood at the end of the massage, donned his robe, and helped me with my robe. His eyes were soft and loving. “What?” I asked.
“You are so breathtakingly beautiful,” Ben sighed. “Especially when you’re relaxed and at peace.”
I blushed. “Thank you for this day.”
Ben smiled and said, “No thanks needed. This trip is about thanking you for making our family grow.”
We headed to the next room and had manicures and pedicures before I was whisked off for a facial and scalp treatment.
When we left the spa, I was so relaxed my body felt like jelly.
“Are you hungry?” Ben asked.
“Maybe a little,” I replied.
“Good, I had a charcuterie board delivered to the room that we can snack on,” Ben stated, opening the door to our room.
“Does it have pickles on it?” I asked excitedly.
“Nope,” Ben answered.
“Boo,” I pouted.
“It doesn’t because I had them make you a pickleterie board,” Ben smirked, pointing to the board full of different types of pickles.
I turned to him. “Have I told you how much I love you?”
“Yes, and later,” Ben said, snuggling into my neck. “We both can SHOW each other how much.”
“Absolutely,” I said, biting my lip. “You have my favorite pickle.”
