Chapter 246 Bonus Chapter – Life and Death of Jonah (Part 9)
Jonah’s POV
All I wanted to do when I got home was take Maddy in every single way, but after the shot from the doctor, I was exhausted. I remember Maddy tucking me into bed. When I woke up in the morning, Maddy was already up cooking breakfast.
“Good morning, judge,” Maddy had beamed. “How did you sleep?”
“Like a baby,” I grinned, hugging Maddy from behind. “Do you want to come back to bed with me?”
“We can’t,” Maddy advised. “We have to head to the airport right after breakfast. Sit, eat.”
“Shit, I forgot,” I replied, sitting down at the counter. “Thanks for making breakfast, Maddy, but you didn’t have to.”
“I want to give you everything you deserve, Jonah,” Maddy said, smiling, a gleam in her eye.
The doctor walked into the kitchen, staring down at his tablet. “Yvette, did you respond to Luca this morning? He wanted…” The doctor stopped dead in his tracks and closed his mouth.
“Did you just call Maddy Yvette?” I asked.
The doctor looked at Maddy, panicked. “No, I was sending a voice message to my assistant,” the doctor responded.
“Oh, sorry,” I stated.
“Dr. Mathias, didn’t you say Yvette is on holiday?” Maddy questioned. “Shouldn’t you reach out to Luca yourself?”
“Oh my gosh, where is my head this morning!” Dr. Mathias exclaimed. “I’ll do just that.” Dr. Mathias scurried off.
“I already packed your suitcase. Just double-check it to see if I missed anything,” Maddy advised.
“I can’t believe I finally have you,” I said, smiling. I had always dreamed of what life would be like with Maddy. Honestly, I think it was better than expected.
Maddy walked over to me and leaned in for a kiss. “I’ll always be with you,” Maddy grinned. “Until the day you die. Which might be soon if you don’t hurry up and finish your breakfast,” Maddy giggled.
“Ok, ok! I’m hurrying,” I replied.
Before we knew it, we were sitting in the private airport lounge waiting for our flight to board.
“First class?” Maddy asked, her eyes widening with shock.
“Only the best for my little ghost,” I grinned. “I can’t believe this is real. I’ve waited so long to be with you.”
“Well, you don’t have to wait any longer,” Maddy said, smiling. “I just can’t believe you still want me, Jonah.”
“You still don’t understand, do you?” he asked.
“Understand what?”
“That this trip isn’t about the yacht, or Miami, or even first class,” I said, leaning closer, lowering my voice. “It’s about the fact that you are mine. MINE. You always were, and you always will be mine.”
Maddy smiled and spoke. “Yours.”
“I’m glad you finally realized that, little ghost,” I grinned.
We boarded the plane, and I watched her with amusement as she explored every detail.
“You’re smiling,” I said.
“I just don’t get to travel first class that often,” Maddy informed me. “I feel like I’m supposed to act like this is normal.”
I leaned back in my seat. “And why would you do that?”
“Because it’s normal for you,” Maddy replied. “You probably always fly first class.”
I looked at her and smirked, “Maybe, but watching you experience it makes it better.”
Maddy looked at him. “You mean that?”
“I do.”
Somewhere over the clouds, I realized the trip wasn’t about the destination. It was about finally having Maddy. The only woman I have ever truly wanted and desired.
We started our descent into Miami, and the city shimmered beneath the afternoon sun.
“It’s beautiful,” Maddy whispered. “No matter how many times I’ve been here. It still shocks me.”
I followed her gaze. “Not even close to how beautiful you are,” I declared, lifting her hand and kissing the back of it.
“Jonah,” Maddy sighed in contentment.
We drove past, palm trees swaying in the warm breeze, the water sparkling like diamonds, and luxury yachts lining the docks like floating mansions.
We pulled up to the docks and stepped out of the car service. A short walk took us to the yacht.
Maddy stopped in her tracks. “Did you get a new yacht?”
“Yes,” I answered.
“This is insane, Jonah,” Maddy said, tears in her eyes.
“Good insane?” I questioned.
“You named your yacht after me!” Maddy giggled. “Very good, insane.”
I took her hand as we walked aboard, then entered the back sliding doors to the sitting area.
“Jonah,” Maddy gasped. “This yacht is even more beautiful than the last.”
“It’s all for you,” I stated, reaching out and pulling Maddy into my embrace. Fuck. “I want to share everything with you.”
“Me too. I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner,” Maddy declared.
“Well, at least you realized it now,” I expressed.
Maddy’s phone chimed.
“I’m sorry, Jonah,” Maddy uttered. “It’s the clinic. I have to call them.”
“Take your time,” I told her. “I’ll just go check in with the crew.” I kissed her forehead and walked towards the bridge.
Maddy’s (Yvette’s) POV
I stepped out of the glass sliding doors and closed them. I didn’t need Jonah to catch on to any part of the plan. I thought for sure Dr. Mathias blew it this morning when he called me Yvette in front of Jonah.
I looked at my phone. The message was from Luca.
Luca: How is everything going?
Yvette: Going well. We just got on the yacht. Dr. Mathias’ flight just landed.
Luca: Excellent. Yvette, you know that you may have to have sexual contact with the target.
Yvette: I knew that when I signed up, Luca. I’ll do whatever it takes to complete the job.
Luca: You’ll be rewarded handsomely, Yvette.
Yvette: As handsome as your brother Mauricio?
Luca: Lol. Don’t joke about that, Yvette. You know Mauricio would marry you in a heartbeat.
Yvette: I’m not joking, Luca. I feel like it’s time to settle down after this job.
Luca: I’ll set it up. Welcome to the familia, Yvette.
Yvette: I've got to go; Jonah should be coming back soon.
Luca: Ciao, Bella.
Yvette: Ciao, Luca.
