Chapter 244 Bonus Chapter – Life and Death of Jonah (Part 7)
Jonah’s POV
Irina was one of the event planners the Halestens always used. My father had used her a few times for galas and political events.
“Irina, so nice to see you,” I said excitedly. “You must be super busy today.”
“Actually, it hasn’t been that bad because Rebecca has been handling most things,” she replied with a chuckle. “She pretty much has been managing the bride all by herself.”
“I’m sure Lainey appreciates that,” I replied. “Where is the blushing bride, anyway, in one of the bedrooms upstairs?”
“No, actually, she’s in the reading parlor,” Irina replied. “The sunlight in there is beautiful, and they wanted to give the pictures a little bit of a variation with the books and the couches in there.”
“Ahh, I see,” I responded. Bingo! I knew exactly where she was. The only thing I needed to do was get Rebecca away from her so that I could talk to her and take her away from this wedding.
The question now was, how do I get Rebecca out of the room so I can be alone with Lainey? Maybe I can cause a problem with the venue, so she would have to go down to see Irina. I slipped out the back door and headed straight for the glass venue tent where the reception was being held. Holy shit, they really went all out, basically constructing a new building. I snuck in through the employee side door and moved one of the boxes under a table. I looked outside to make sure no one was looking and slipped out without even being noticed.
“There you are,” Penny said, walking towards me. “Come sit down.”
“I can’t right now,” I expressed. “George wanted to talk to me quickly before the ceremony.”
“George is already outside,” Penny said, eyeing me with suspicion.
“I know, but he’s meeting me in the den,” I advised.
“I’ll come with you,” Penny said, smiling.
“Penny, go sit,” I informed her. “I’ll be back soon.”
“But,” Penny stated.
“Penny, stop it. We’re over,” I declared. “Go sit and watch your sister’s wedding.”
“Jonah! You can’t mean that,” Penny pouted.
“I do,” I said, placing my hand on her shoulder. “I found someone else. I’ll have all your stuff delivered to your sister’s apartment. Don’t follow me,” I uttered, then walked away, leaving her standing there.
I headed inside and raced up the grand staircase. The room across the hall from the reading parlor was probably the best place to hide. I knew this house like the back of my hand; spending every summer here had its benefits. That room was just an unused guest room, if I remember correctly. Now, it’s just a waiting situation.
The plan went perfectly, and 20 minutes later, Rebecca was out the door along with Lainey’s mom, Angelica. My breath hitched in my throat at the thought of seeing Lainey. I knocked on the door. Why the fuck was I knocking on the door? I should have just barged in. Lainey opened the door, and my jaw dropped to the floor. She was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in her wedding dress.
“Jonah? What are you doing here?” Lainey asked.
I needed to kiss her, not now, but right now. I pushed her into the room, slamming the door. Then I forced her against one of the bookshelves. Caging myself around her. I could tell that she wanted to scream, so I laced my fingers around her throat and squeezed.
“Jonah,” Lainey whispered. “Please Stop!” Lainey clawed at my hand.
“Lainey, I’m going to let go of your neck,” I advised, searching her eyes. “Don’t scream or I will grab it harder, OK?”
Lainey nodded, and I let go, grabbing her around the waist and pulling her close. Lainey was heaving in air, trying to fill her lungs.
“My beautiful little ghost, you are fucking delicious in that wedding dress,” I growled, licking her neck. “You didn’t listen to my last threat, so now I have to take matters into my own hands. Let’s get you out of that dress and truly make you mine.”
“No, Jonah,” Lainey murmured with a scratchy voice. “I am not yours. I will never be yours. Please leave, now.”
I tutted at her. “Little ghost,” I pouted. “You will always be mine. You were mine the minute I saw you in the school courtyard hanging that banner. Just one tantalizing look at your cotton panties as you stood on the top of the ladder. If it weren’t for that fucking Halesten, cockblocking me at the pub, you would have been mine fully 10 years ago.”
“You’re insane, Jonah,” Lainey spat out. “As if I can love a monster!”
“Your body told the truth, Lainey,” I smirked. “You came on my hand. Now it’s time for you to accept all of me, my little ghost.”
“Never,” Lainey said, defiantly. “I will NEVER be yours.”
I picked Lainey up and brought her to the desk. I pushed everything off the desk onto the floor. I lay her down on the desk and stepped between her legs. “Let go of me, Jonah!” Lainey begged. “You motherfucker!”
“Well, you are a mother,” I chuckled, touching her belly. “So, I am a mother fucker.” I lifted her dress and fisted her panties. “Fuuuuuuuuuuccck,” I groaned.
Lainey slapped me, and I grinned maniacally. I crashed my lips to hers. Lainey bit my bottom lip hard enough to break the skin, and the coppery taste of blood invaded both of our mouths.
“My little ghost has fangs,” Jonah smirked. “I like when you’re rough.”
“Fuck you,” Lainey yelled.
“I’d rather fuck you, willingly or not,” I grinned. “Either way, you’ll be screaming my name.”
I stood up, undoing my belt.
“No, Jonah,” Lainey screamed at me.
“Yes, my little ghost. My Maddy. My Lainey,” I said with a wicked smile.
I nudged Lainey’s legs open as I lifted her skirt. Oh, my fucking God, she was wearing tiny lace panties, obviously, for her wedding night. I grinned. This is her wedding night, and I am her groom.
I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head, and then everything went black.
