LILITH’S POV
I could feel the warm breath fanning on my face, I squirmed, trying to avoid it, but a hand was wrapped around me limiting my movements.
‘What is it?’ I was sleepy. Last night was a roller coaster, I don’t remember how many rounds we had but at one point I gave up because of tiredness and Caleb understood, engulfing me in his arm, closed to his bare chest, I immediately drifted off to sleep.
‘Wake up sweetheart’ I twitched my face at his sweet and deep voice.
‘No! Let me sleep’ I stomped my legs on the bed and again tried to toss, but he had tightened his grip. I wiggled to get release from his hold but due to my half open eyes and mind still fogged with sleep, I failed and humph in annoyance. He chuckled; he was so close to me that I felt his lips brushing with my jawline.
‘You’re not getting free, until you open your eyes’ I sighed and accepted my defeat, he is way too much strong for me to fight.
‘I will take revenge, remember!’ I warned him and he sucked in breath acting as if he got scared, I hissed and crossed my hands over my chest.
‘I’ll wait’ he lowered down and plastered a soft kiss on my lips. Our eyes met, his was full desire and love. I pursed my lips and covered his eyes with my palm.
‘Don’t look at me like that,” he laughed and removed my hand effortlessly with his.
‘What you mean by that? How am I looking to you? He asked and I passed a knowing glare at him.
‘You can’t take me as your breakfast, okay. We are going down and have proper meal, I am hungry’ I hadn’t eaten much yesterday, and now I could feel my stomach begging for the food.
‘And what if I refused to? Isn’t that what you wanted? Me and you, loving and devouring each other’ his lips curved in devilish smile, and I punched him on the shoulder.
‘It doesn’t mean, you will not let me eat,” I whined, he laughed again. He was enjoying my situation. I was feeling shy, but at the same time my hunger was making my feisty.
‘Fine, let’s shower and go down. Ethan has called twice for the breakfast’ He moved, releasing me from his grasp, I squinted my eyes at him.
‘You were teasing me?’ I gritted my teeth.
‘You were teased?’ he instead asked from me, and I threw a pillow at him.
‘You wait; I will take my revenge from you,” he laughed and entered in bathroom to take the shower. I laid down, thinking about how my life had changed. A week or so back I had lost all my hopes of having a better life, Irene shutdown, no recognition of our mate bond from Caleb, Harper mocking me for weak wolf, I being nothing but a loser who couldn’t save her pack from rogues, but in all this disappointment I never expected or had hope for such a bigger and swift change in my life.
Things took completely opposite turns, and I got everything which I was quietly wishing and weeping for. Respect, love, care, and sweet love and fight relation with my mate. Even, I went through the incident of losing my life to losing Caleb's, and in that process, I realized, life isn’t just about thinking and caring about yourself, it is a very short moment we have been granted to live happily and rather than wasting it on arguing or misunderstanding others, we should put ourselves in others shoes to understand what is causing them to act that way or pulling out of something that is unusual and non-acceptable, it saves us from losing the warmth in relation.
If, I hadn’t lost my conscious that day, Caleb wouldn’t have realized his love and care for me, the fear that was restricting him from acknowledging our bond, and when I learnt through our bond that why he isn’t willing to mate with me. In order to succeed, we have to surpass our fears, we had to show the fear that we won’t let it win and that’s the point from where we start to grow. I hope, I and Caleb have passed through that stage and are now on are growing stage.
‘What are you thinking? I was lost in my thoughts when Caleb called out to me, I turned my head to look at him. Soft smile made its way on my lips, staying near to him I learned that he has too many good qualities, he is not only a good Alpha, but also a good man and perfect mate, I am flying on sky that this man is my mate, he is mine just mine.
‘Nothing, just recalling days, we were at our lowest’ I headed to shower, leaving him behind shocked.
We joined Ethan and Noah, Margaret, Isaac, Willow and Hazel, were also there. It was quiet while we all ate, Harper wasn’t here, I missed her, don’t know if, Isaac and other noticed her absence. I think she now must move in with Isaac, that is her right place to live and staying close will help removing the wall between them.
I looked at Caleb; I need to talk to him and take his opinion before I ask Isaac and Harper to do that.
‘Is everything ready and prepared?’ I heard him asking from Ethan, and Ethan nodded in response.
‘They are waiting for you’ I looked at my mate confused, was he going somewhere? He didn’t mention that. Caleb hummed in response and looked at me.
‘If you’re done, come with me’ I was done with my food and had retreated my hands, he had noticed it and asked me to follow him. I was confused, he wasn’t saying anything and I didn’t want to sound noisy, so I quietly walked behind him. Ethan and Noah were beside us, we all left the pack house and turned right. I haven’t explored this side yet, mostly I left pack house either for visit to the hospital or looking at kids and none of it has route from this side.
‘Where are we going?’ taking chance, I asked from Noah, he lowered his head and whispered.
‘To our pack’s ground, all members are gathered their for you and Alpha’ my eyes widened. What was this? Is it something to be worried about? I looked at Caleb, but he seemed relaxed, no layer of concern on his face.
