Chapter 7 7
POV LOIS
Water ran down my face—I didn’t even know how the three of us fit inside the shower. One pair of hands washed my hair while another pair crouched to scrub my feet.
I wished it were just a quick shower, because my body was truly exhausted.
Those good-morning kisses had been just as intense as the good-night ones.
I kept sighing, my attention shifting from one to the other. It was impossible to keep my eyes on only one of them.
This wasn’t anything serious—just an adventure that happened on a train, like the one Viviana was having in the room next door. Except… it felt strange. Maybe a tiny attachment because it was my first sexual experience, my first experience in so many things within this pleasurable and wicked world I had fallen into, at least for the last few hours.
“I think she’s done.”
Thank goodness. Everything happened without incidents—it was just a shower. I was grateful for that.
But then my stomach growled and ruined everything. Now their attention was back on me again.
How long until we arrived?! These twins seemed determined to stay at my side every second!
“We need to take her to breakfast,” one of them suggested after hearing my stomach beg for food.
“No, I’ll go later. You two get dressed and I’ll see you afterward,” I cut him off, crushing the idea of them accompanying me.
“Something tells me she wants to get rid of us. Don’t you think so, Ezequiel?”
The twins began circling around me and I immediately lost track of who was who.
“At some point you’ll have to leave, right?” I said. And honestly, I didn’t know when this adventure would end, but I hoped it would be before the train stopped. I did NOT want Viviana seeing us!
“We’re all going to breakfast.”
“No! You two are going to walk out of this room and leave me alone! With my thoughts! I need to think! And I’ll only do that when you walk out that door.”
I stepped out of the bathroom—my pathetic attempt at ordering them around—but they only raised an eyebrow, and immediately I felt their presence intensify, filling the entire damn room and crashing against my skin.
One of them found my clothes and the other dressed me; one of them set the beds back in place, and the twins got fully dressed in seconds.
At least now they were wearing different clothes!
But… why the hell did they act as if I couldn’t do anything on my own?
“Come have breakfast with us. It’s safer.”
“What part of the whole train is full of Alphas and Betas did you not understand? I don’t even know what the hell you were thinking getting on this thing, Lois.”
“Ovaries,” I corrected him. Though that wasn’t the reason—I got on the train without knowing it would be infested with them. I had no idea it would be only Alphas and Betas. Maybe I was naïve.
“Your friend—the one who says she’ll protect you, or the one you think will protect you—hasn’t even realized you won’t be able to go to breakfast without being bothered. Last night everyone was drunk, it was a party, people were trying to have fun. But today they’ll be looking for someone or something to have fun with… and you, little Lois, are the perfect target.”
“What do you care?” I complained.
It might be bad, but it couldn’t be that bad—not compared to things I was already used to.
And honestly, if I had known what I know now, I wouldn’t have gotten on this train—and even less would I have followed Viviana to a place full of Betas and Alphas. As much as I wanted to see the world outside my pack, Liberty University wasn’t the place for that. It wasn’t the place for me.
“Fine.”
“Not like we care that much, right?”
“You go first. It can’t be that bad. And as an Omega, you must be used to certain treatment, Lois. We’ll pretend we don’t know you.”
“Is that fine with you?”
“As you wish,” I replied, watching them with suspicion.
“Is the food free?”
My question made them laugh—and that was it, I walked out angry, grabbing some money.
I hadn’t seen either of them pay for the drinks they had the night before.
In the hallway, people were leaving their rooms, all heading in the same direction as me.
The restaurant.
They immediately began staring at me strangely, and I ignored them until I reached the door of the car that led into the restaurant.
There was a man in a blue uniform with many buttons across it. He extended his hand toward me when I stopped in front of him, blocking my way inside.
“Your… card,” he said slowly, looking me over with a critical stare. “Give me your card so I can see which room you’re staying in.”
“Hurry up!” a woman behind me shouted. “The rest of us are waiting.”
I turned my head to see the line forming behind me, all waiting for me to move.
It was as if everyone had suddenly decided to come to the restaurant at the same time. I guess we were all hungry.
“M-My roommate has it,” I said, already nervous as the people behind me kept complaining about the delay. I had no idea what card he meant. I didn’t even know if Viviana actually had it.
“Each guest, in case of a shared room, is given a card,” said the impatient woman, pushing past me and showing her card so she could go in before me. “Looks like we’ve got a stowaway.”
She covered her nose as she passed me and entered the restaurant—as if I smelled bad.
The others continued entering until I was once again left at the very end.
Start over.
“I can show mine, if you want.”
I turned toward the man who had been waiting behind me as the line moved quickly.
“I’d appreciate that,” I said, looking into those large black eyes. When my turn came, he showed his card, then gently guided me inside.
I gave him a grateful smile, my eyes catching on the tattoo on his neck. I had no idea who he was, but thanks to him, I got in.
I had finally managed to enter!
