Chapter 25 25
POV LOIS
I wasn’t sure why he did it, but he did! He accepted me! I thought he’d think it over more, since he didn’t want to accept my conditions. I even thought he might reject me, but he didn’t.
He kissed me again, banishing every trace of pain from me, warming my body and giving me the relief I needed.
Wait…
Wait…
I set my hands on his chest and pushed him away—we were supposed to keep our distance! We only accepted each other so we wouldn’t be rejected, it was supposed to be a mere formality, not an actual relationship!
But this was exactly what Ezequiel wanted. He was betting on me not being able to resist—that was his plan.
“I see what you want,” I managed to say. My head was spinning while desire took over every inch of my body, making it hard to speak at all.
“How long do you think you can resist, Lois?” He left half a smile on his lips. I felt forced to close my eyes and try to ignore him, but that was nowhere near an easy task. “Is this what you thought would be easy?” My mind responded only to the silent call of his body. Every one of my heartbeats followed Ezequiel’s movements, and I felt like my existence revolved around him—or for him. He left a bite on my lips and then, hot as sin, slipped his tongue into my mouth. I lost myself in myself, or maybe in Ezequiel; my mind imagined doing everything to him, but reality stayed at a scorching kiss that had me moaning with nothing more than that kiss. But what a damn kiss! “I won’t do anything to get close to you, Lois. If you want to resist this, you’ll be the only one doing that. I won’t come to you, but I’ll take care of you when you come.” T–Take care of me? D–Did he mean that?
He left another quick kiss and finally pulled away. He grabbed all my things, opened the door, then came back to the bed to take my arm and help me stand.
“I–I can walk.” I felt brand new! And how could I not? A kiss like that was enough to restore every bit of strength in me.
We left the train. They were waiting for us; they took my things, freeing Ezequiel to hold me more securely.
All I can say is that his scent overwhelmed me so much I didn’t even realize we’d arrived. Maybe I slept on the way—I couldn’t be sure—but I think we got there quickly.
A man opened the door, and Ezequiel guided me through the hallways of the house. He opened a long, thick brown door, and inside… I already knew Emmanuel was there.
I knew it.
I ran to the bed and jumped onto him. His arms wrapped around me, holding me against his chest without letting go, keeping me pressed to him for long, blissful minutes.
“You’re here, Lois. I hope not for a single second did it cross your mind that I wouldn’t come for you, Lois.”
“I thought that…” that he wouldn’t come. I felt so much sadness when time passed and he didn’t show up, I thought he would never come. “I’m sorry.”
“Thanks to Ezequiel for bringing you here. I really feared you wouldn’t want to be here, that you wouldn’t want to come back.”
“About that…” I looked toward the door. Their presence together was overwhelming. I had to clear things up quickly, draw a line before all my sanity vanished.
“Lois is also my partner,” Ezequiel declared before I had the chance to say anything. He was the type who never held back and blurted everything out—even in a situation like this. How could he just say it like that? “Emmanuel, we got the same mate.” Incredible. These twins were something else.
Such little tact!
I hid my face in my hands, on the verge of crying.
I looked like a damn slut!
“Well! That’s…” Emmanuel pulled my hands away and held my face. “How do you feel about that, Lois?”
“The same as with you. She accepts us, but pushes us away. She already knows you’ll be the future Alpha, she also knows she’ll be the future Luna. Her parents must have arrived with ours by now, and she doesn’t want to accept the changes coming to her life, Emmanuel.”
“We can convince her,” he said in a soft, calm voice. He looked into my eyes and I melted. “Lois, it’s absurd for you to accept us just to push us away. I wish I could say I’m strong, but the pain of having you far from me is unbearable. You can’t keep saying this is a mistake, because it can’t be.”
“As the future Luna… her father has ordered that she stay at the university, choose a major and prepare. She’s now under the director’s care, under his protection. Starting today. Leave her, Emmanuel. Pressuring her won’t work—we’ll only scare her. She thinks she can resist us, and she can’t.”
“Well, I do want to try convincing her.” He placed his hands on my shoulders. “Lois, we can make this work. You accepted us—what could possibly go wrong?”
“I’m sorry, Emmanuel, but I already made my decision. I can’t.”
Next to Ezequiel, by the door, a man appeared.
It was the same one as last time, when I met Emmanuel in that building.
The director.
“Sorry to interrupt, but… I need to take Lois. I see Emmanuel is already feeling better. Now the young lady comes with me. She has to go for a check-up and then I need to give her certain instructions.”
“It’s too soon, not yet. We have important matters, Director,” Ezequiel said. He grabbed the doorknob and… closed the door in the man’s face.
Emmanuel let out a laugh, covering his mouth, and Ezequiel approached the bed, climbing on behind me. In front of me was Emmanuel.
Their combined presence was overwhelming, but Emmanuel’s aura was calm, while I could feel Ezequiel’s pressing against my nape—restless, anxious, and maybe angry. At me.
“I missed you, brother.”
“And I missed you, Emma.” They hugged, leaving me in between them, with Ezequiel pressing the most and Emmanuel laughing nonstop.
I couldn’t resist their embrace and joined in too, even though at this point I was more than participating.
How was I supposed to resist the idea of two Alphas for me?
My mind might protest, but my body had an essential vote, and it seemed perfectly comfortable—eager, even—with both of them around me. Especially with me in the middle, just like now.
In the middle.
“We can feel your desire!” they shouted at the same time.
“Well, get used to it! Because that’s all you’re going to feel,” I threatened them, pretending I was strong and could resist this.
All I knew was that I needed to get out of this room as soon as possible.
Or I’d end up between them both—but naked!
