Instructor Moge
Moge saw this scene when she came in. she pushed her glasses to cover the intrigue in her eyes.
“What’s going on?”
The moment the low-pitched female voice sounded, Layla trembled as if she was shocked by sudden cold breeze. Layla raised her eyes in disbelief and met the eagle-like sharp eyes behind the lens. The face was not familiar…but the build, the voice, even that look—they were all familiar to that person!
Layla lost her expression and was completely speechless. Who could tell her that when she went out to play black games and met her teacher, she accidentally knocked down that teacher…what should she do?!
Suddenly, the thought of Reznik appearing and taking her away from this place was a good idea.
After asking the reason and knowing the twists and turns of the situation, Moge nodded nonchalantly.
“Okay then.” Moge clapped her hands twice. “In order to let us get acquainted quickly, let’s run 20 laps around the field first.”
Even the mecha department had many students who were sporting black faces upon hearing such a run! Although they did perform routine drills every morning, it was only ten laps at most!
There was a short yet muscled boy whose face was the most distorted among others. He could not help but utter, “Instructor, 20 laps are too exaggerated.”
Looking around, the inner diameter of the shooting training ground was small. It was said that there were 400 meters. 20 laps were equivalent to a half marathon!
Moge turned to look at the student when she heard his words. With a smile on her face, she said: “Too much?”
Seeing this, the others also thought that the instructor was about to let go so he stared at her expectantly.
But instead, he heard the instructor’s soft words. “Too much proves that you have not exercised enough. Then just run more.” She pointed at the boy who complained. “You. 30 laps. The rest of you, 20 laps. Any more questions?”
Every student was silent and no one dared to ask questions.
Moge nodded in satisfaction and clicked some button on the optical end. “It’s fine. Your optical brain should have received a timer now. The first column records the number of laps you have run. The second column is the maximum time you can for 20 laps. Once you exceed it, you will run an extra lap.”
Seeing the value in the second column, there was a collective gasp from the group of students.
As for the only one who had a calm expression, they all thought she was numb from all of it like them. If not, then she was dumb.
Although the time limit was as easy for Layla as jogging in the morning, but seeing Moge’s iron-blooded skills, Layla seemed to have imagined what would be waiting for her in the future. She could not help but shiver.
“Now that everyone understands, let’s take action.” The teacher shouted energetically.
Sparse responses sounded and everyone ran to the runway.
“It seems that everyone has no energy. This is not okay! Run a few more laps to sober up!”
Everyone was even more speechless from Instructor Moge’s series of actions and logic.
At this moment, a figure who was trying to minimize her sense of existence felt that someone was jogging beside her as if the person intended to match her rhythm.
“Layla Themis.”
Layla cursed at the back of her mind before she innocently smiled and looked at Instructor Moge who was running side by side with her. “Teacher, did you call me?” Layla said in a sweet and innocent tone.
Moge stretched out her hand, took the light end information from Layla’s optical brain that was connected to her class, and glanced at the data on it. She could not help raising her eyebrows slightly. Seeing Layla’s leisurely posture while not blushing or panting, Moge thought she was being lazy. But Moge did not expect that it was because of her good physical strength that she seemed to be able to do things with ease. However, when competing with her the last lime, Moge discovered that this little girl was really fast—fast and stable—and it seemed that the restrictions given were too easy.
Thinking of this, Moge returned the light end to Layla and suddenly raised another topic. “You know it is against the school’s rules for students to play illegal games, right?”
Hearing this, Layla maintained her innocent persona. “Illegal games? What illegal games, Teacher?”
After a few glances at Layla, Moge smiled and said: “I don’t intend to report it anyway. I just want to ask you if you want to participate in the mecha competition…not as a substitute healer in the rear but as a real player.”
As a firm supporter of mecha competition, Moge personally encouraged students to participate in various competitions, even the illegal games. Even last time, after she discovered Layla, a rookie, she felt sincerely happy. With such a mecha player who could manipulate data and utilize her mental power while in a state of battle mode, the road of Federal Military Academy would be smooth even against the Imperial Military Academy.
She was certain that she was going to enter the school team, so Moge asked this question. However, unexpectedly, she only got a more bewildered expression from the girl.
“I don’t really want to.” Layla was telling the truth this time. She was tempted by the star coins but she had Reznik to ask permission to. She did not want to be ‘punished’ again by that man!
Moge only thought that Layla was being modest. After all, Layla was a healer and a perfect fit to be a strong team’s substitute player.
“One of the most important selection criteria for the mecha competition is the class points. Now I can give the opportunity to increase your points. Do you want it?”
Contrary to Moge’s thoughts, Layla was really not interested in any mecha competition even with the shining star coins prizes. But she was very interested with class points. This thing was not only useful for the mecha competition selection, but also for the scholarship selection. If she planned to slowly move away from Reznik, she needed to afford the sky high amount of tuition fees. Scholarship was the best option for her.
Layla’s eyes lit up. “What opportunity?”
A few minutes later, Moge announced a new training rule to the students running around on the field with a loudspeaker.
“The current average number of laps for mecha students is ten laps. I invited a classmate from the auxiliary department to play a chase game with you. Her optical terminal shows 8 laps. If she exceeds one lap, the 1 point will be deducted from the grades of all mecha department students and one point will be added to her grades per person she defeats.”
“Do you have any objections, Mech students?”
Most of the mecha students on the field were in a good condition. They heard that a mere auxiliary student dared to challenge them and she still was two laps weaker than them. If they dared to disagree with this, it would be too embarrassing.
