93. Damon
A month later.
Hector had returned back home to his territory with his brave cute courageous mate. So had Damon.
Angelo had returned back to his pack house whilst keeping a low safe long distance relationship with his beloved mate.
Rani had taken care of Hector's wounds and kept her distance from Damon. Her bad memories with him had returned back and when they did the first thing she did was give Damon one hell of a hard slap across his face.
"So, you're talking to me now?" Damon smirked feeling the sting of her slap as she turned away from him.
Rani was done crying and all she could say to him was
"Burn in hell!"
"Great, I'll meet you on the other side." ;)
Rani looked at him disgustedly and turned on her heel. Damon was a playboy and a classified jerk she didn't want to deal with anymore. Luckily she didn't have to deal with him when he got busy running his casino and club in town.
Instead, she became busier and tended to the botanical gardens she helped bloom in ways that attracted visitors from all over. The business was booming however her love life had drastically slowed down.
Rani had distanced herself from Hector and got herself a nice cosy condo apartment that Hector helped purchase. He understood her reason for distancing herself and vowed that he'd only engage with her on a 'deeper level' once she was comfortable being around him again.
Luckily the bite he gave her no longer pained her. His mark was prominent and so was his scent on her, which relieved her of stress. No wolves looked her way and she was thankful she could get on with her work in peace. However, there were times when she missed Hector's touch and wild kisses upon her. She once had to escape from his sight when she nearly pooled her pants from his gaze.
Hector knew he was a turn-on for her, but even he controlled his own sexually frustrated self around her.
Achilles on the other hand couldn't take more of the distance and started playing with Hector's head, splurging images of her in her erotic state for him.
He'd been having sleepless nights thanks to his wild side, making him tempted to bed her again.
Hector rolled his eyes at Damon and shook his head at him in disapproval. Yet at the same time, he was thankful for him having injured him enough during his dark period a month ago before he truly killed his beloved mate for his crazy blood thirst for her.
"Don't flirt with her it annoys me."
"Speaking of flirting, I haven't seen you two play puppy love with each other?" Damon teased.
"Why are you here again?" Annoyance dripped from his tone.
"Because Carlos and his douchebags are on the move again."
"Why haven't they been taken care of Damon?"
"Because the betas I keep sending to kill them either happen to find their true mate on the way, or get sidetracked from their missions. It's annoying." Damon sighed quite annoyed about that. Their pack numbers were growing low and he knew what needed to be done to make the numbers increase once more.
He pulled out his phone.
"Theo, have you gathered the batch?"
{T} "Yes Alpha Damon, they're all ready."
"Excellent I'll be down by the training ground within half an hour."
He cut the call.
"What did you mean by batch Damon?" Hector curiously asked.
Damon smirked.
"Well since you were busy getting your wild side in order, I was busy with hiring the recruits."
Hector looked at him puzzled.
"All our pack members have been recruited? There are no new wolves to join until the blood moon by next year?"
Damon chuckled.
"Well, dear brother these guys that want to join the pack house aren't strictly speaking lycans like us."
"What?"
"I've scouted them from our territory grounds, you see since our numbers are declining I don't seem to have a choice but to give the bite to the humans now."
Hector sighed and shook his head as Damon walked towards the door.
"You're going to get them killed with your bite."
Damon rolled his eyes, he had a plan for that too.
"The lambs have all signed a contract and they are very well aware of the consequences. They've come on their own terms and I'll do whatever it takes to keep this town and our numbers safe. We are the Blood Moon pack after all, and with Rani on our side we'll be the deadly pack no one will dare mess with." Damon said darkly with power dripping of his tone and walked out of the door.
Just as he did so he saw Rani again.
"Did you just say you're going to bite humans in town?" Rani asked shocked and worried as she returned to the office to grab her forgotten phone on Hector's desk.
"To grow my pack army, yes I did. By the way, eavesdropping is rude."
Damon walked past her but Rani quickly caught his wrist from the back.
The Alpha turned towards her and raised a brow.
"You'll do no such thing."
Damon darkly stepped towards her and looked down intensely at her. He could see fire dancing in her eyes as she stared up at him like a fearless Alpha female. It pissed him off that she no longer feared him nor saw him as her Alpha. That spot had been claimed by his dear stepbrother Hector.
Even now as she held him a part of him was still turned on by her.
"If you don't let go, I'll continue what I did to you out in the woods all those months ago and seriously eat you this time."
Rani's heart pounded as Damon looked into her chocolate dark orbs. He meant what he said yet at the same time she knew he was trying to scare her again in his own intimidating way.
"No you won't."
"What?" He was surprised by her answer.
"I know deep inside your cold heart that you won't hurt me like that again. You're wolf won't let you."
Damon clenched his jaw and snatched his wrist away from her hold as Hector stepped through the door and watched him warningly. He hated the fact that she was write. Ajax would never let Damon loose control with her like that, now that they had a taste of her precious blood. They felt protective over her.
"You don't know what I or Ajax [his wolf's name] want." Damon then shoved her backwards making Hector easily catch her fall from the back as she yelped out.
"Damon!" She yelled out angrily, but Hector held her back.
"Hector we need to stop him, he's going to kill innocent people!" Rani said worriedly clutching his suit jacket by his collar angrily.
