80. Finding him

3 weeks later.

Rani was done crying in the shower and blaming herself for whatever made Achilles leave in the middle of the night, whilst they were making love.

She was angry at him for doing that, and at the same time she was worried about him. What made him leave so suddenly, just when he made her remember who he was and helped get rid of that soring ache upon her shoulder.

She texted and called trying to reason with him, trying to get him to reach out to her, but Achilles refused to make any contact.

Which agitated him since he wanted to make contact but he had no idea how to break the awful news that bothered him.

The only reason he decided to stay away from her was because, he did not want to bite her. He didn't want to claim her again due to the nature of his bloodlust for her. What would happen if he wouldn't be able to stop?!

There was a high chance that he could kill her.

He would never forgive himself if any harm came to her because of his natural predatorial instinct. Last time Rani made him drink her blood when he was on the brink of death due to the deadly poison in him. But somehow, he found the will power to stop. Damon was there to make sure of that, but this time his brother was not here. He was not here to hold him back if he lost control over her.

Re-marking her was risky. He wouldn't be able to control his bloodlust for her insatiable blood if he bit her.

"Where is he?!" Rani asked after returning from her work place.

After her incredible healing night that made her crazy mark go away from her shoulder, Rani's true powers had returned back to her, more stronger than before. Deep down inside, she had a feeling that Hector had helped her recovered in more ways than one. He had made her stronger somehow and she needed to find him since she missed him.

Ren and Theo were in the office overlooking the paper work whilst their Alpha was away and they acted dumb.

"No idea."

"He said he was coming back this week, or was it next week?"

The duo shrugged their shoulders and Rani sighed.

"Please, I need to talk to him. This isn't like him?"

Ren sighed and understood Rani's hurt. She hated lying to her and she could no longer keep her big mouth shut.

"He's gone to Alaska."

"Ren! You're not supposed to say that." Theo sighed frowning at her.

"Well too late. Look we're also getting worried about him too. So, Isn't it time that we got our Alpha back?" Ren said making Theo walk back and fourth. He was too loyal to follow the instruction that Hector gave him, which was simply stay put, handle the board whilst the Alphas were away and keep guard over her mate with Ren.

She was tired of posting him pictures of what Rani was up to constantly. She knew he was thinking about her but couldn't understand why he'd run away when they didn't have a fight in the first place.

"Where is he exactly in Alaska?" asked Rani eager to find him, whilst looking hopeful at Ren.

"The last we heard him say, was that he'd be up on a mountain doing more training."

"Training for what?! Didn't he just come back from training months ago?"

Theo shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, thanks for the information guys, I'll take it from here." Rani said walking out the door in a great haste.

Ren and Theo immediately followed.

"Woah, you're not seriously going up there are you?" Theo asked, seeing his job could be on the line if Rani did.

"Yep."

"Rani you can't. He in a real bad mood ok, and he's asked us not to be disturbed!"

"Well Ren can come and Theo you'll probably need to run this place right?"

"Hey, I'll be with her." Ren rest assured.

Theo pulled her towards the side and shook his head at her, knowing this was a bad idea.

"Ren you don't understand, Alaska is crawling with wolves, it could be dangerous for her."

"Hey, I can handle myself! Ren are you coming or what?!" Rani then stormed out of the building with a mission to find Hector/Achilles where ever he maybe.

After a flight out to Alaska, the girls checked themselves at a lodge.

They headed towards the small town and entered the local diner. All eyes fell on them since they were clearly outsiders.

The girls made themselves towards the bar and ordered themselves a couple of hot drinks.

"You girls out of town?" The barman said making light conversation, whilst he wiped a glass with his white cloth.

"Yeah, we're actually looking for someone." Rani said pulling out her beloved's photo from her phone.

The barman took a look at the photo and looked quite disturbed.

"You with him?"

"Yeah, we're his friends?" Ren said as Rani put away her phone.

"Well then you're no longer welcome. Get out." The bar man said pulling out huge hunting gun on them.

Rani was alarmed to see the gun. She silenced her nerve wrecking heart by keeping calm and simply asked.

"What's wrong, what did he do?" She couldn't believe she was acting so calm in a very alarming situation. The old Rani would have easily put up her hands and slowly backed away out the door without a word.

"He came in here and started a fight with one of the boys in town..." The barman said angrily.

Ren and Rani shot one another a quick look before turning their attention to the bald headed angry looking barman.

He started a fight?

That doesn't sound like Hector or Achilles.

"The wild fool had one of them hospitalised for weeks!" The bar man shouted.

Ren scoffed and immediately pulled out her claws, slicing off the man's hunting gun in half, making the crowds around the room, stop their mingling conversations. Ren was in no mood for anyone bad mouthing her Alpha.

"Sir, I suggest you kindly put your the rest of the gun away and tell us where he is before I claw you to pieces." Ren growled and the bar man nervously gulped, scared speechless, shaking in his bones.

"Your boy don't come here no more." A local senior said, quiet calm and relaxed than the scared rabbits in the room.

"Then where is he?" Rani asked in her serious tone grabbing Ren's hand to control her sudden outburst of anger. Ren immediately calmed her rage and concentrated on the calm stranger sitting across from them.

"I don't give answers for free 'howler'." The senior finished up his beer and walked out of the diner with Rani and Ren following him at once.
