Chapter 13 — The Hardest Confessions
Cassandra POV:
As my husband and Austin walked away from us, I raised my hands and wave goodbye.
"Wait for me, my baby, and Val. We will be complete and will go to be a happy family again,” I said to myself.
My tears started to fall on my cheeks. I quickly wipe it with my palm. My sobs stop and my attention went back towards Kent. I don't know what Lucy felt about this deal, but this is my way of getting revenge on her husband's dad Alexander. With this, I can make Mr. Alexander Stone think about his mistakes. He's the one to be put in jail and not me or my husband. We will put the law in our hands because police officers were all greedy for his money.
"Come here. Don't be nervous sir, I won't eat you,” I said while waiting for him inside.
I sat on the bed and wait for him to start the deal. I was surprised to see him getting a bottle of champagne from his backpack. So, he will let me drink. He thought he can please me with the beverage, but he can't make me drunk with that kind of alcohol.
I chuckled softly while staring at him what is his next move. I stop laughing when he suddenly glared at me.

“Tell me, why are you doing this? We treated you like a family. Austin likes you so much but why you kidnap him and make our life miserable?” Kent's voice was full of anger.
Cassandra just watches him like she gets used to it. She doesn't care anymore what will happen or the outcome of her actions. For her, Kylie's life is more precious than anyone else, but they took it from her and Val.
She won't let him see her vulnerable side. She's the mastermind and she will decide how to end this game.
She walked closer at Kent grabbing his collar and made eye contact with him fiercely.
"You will know later but for now, let's have a drink before we start the night of us,” she said while teasing Kent with her cleavage.
Kent changes and he's not the type of guy that falls easily to women's flesh and nudity.
Cassandra walked closer towards him while licking her index finger. She's teasing him. Val didn't know that his wife has a secret urge to Lucy's husband Kent.
Kent walked backward as Cassandra keeps teasing him with her fingers and lustful eyes.
"Why? Are you afraid that you might betray Lucy again? She knows what I requested right so no need for you to hold back, SIR!” she said as their bodies are just one inch away from each other.
Cassandra went closer and shaken her arms around Kent's neck. She can smell the manly and cool scent on his t-shirt.
Kent just stood there like a mannequin.
“For Austin, you will sacrifice everything right? So, this is what you're doing now. You will save him if you help me make a baby." And her lips slightly touch his lips.
Kent just closes his eyes while Cassandra is kissing him. He stayed his lips sealed and she got annoyed.
She narrowed her eyes at him impatiently.
"Will you do it or not? If not, I will call Val to take Austin to the airport and won't come back here anymore." Cassandra warned him and Kent won't allow it.
He cupped her face and told her not to harm their son.
“Please, don't take away him from us! I beg you! Okay, I'll do it, but can we have a drink first?” he begs for her.
A smirk appeared on her face.
"Sure. I love that." Cassandra mumbled and waited for Kent to pour her a glass of it.
She never left her contact at Kent's hands. She's afraid he will put something on it, but she had no idea that he did it before he left their mansion.

One Hour Ago:
Lucy went to the kitchen and found Kent opening the bottle of champagne. She got confused.
“Honey, what is that for?” she asked him, making her way next to her busy and serious husband. He noticed Lucy and smiled at her.
"Oh, I'm just preparing a way to make Cassandra, that wretch, fall asleep,” he informed his wife while pouring the sleeping pills tablets.
"I need to be smart. Later, she’ll think her drink is safe,” he added.
Lucy understands and wraps her arms around Kent. She leans her face on his back.
"Hon, what if we failed? What if they will take Austin and we won't see him anymore." Lucy said and Kent turned around to comfort his hopeless wife.
He cupped her face and stared at her full of hope and chances. He took a deep breath and smiled at her.
"Hon, don't say that. We will catch them they will pay for what they did. Don't worry, I can take care of myself,” he promised her and planted a light kiss on her forehead.
Lucy looked up with her puppy eyes look.
"Really? Promise?” she asked again.
Kent nods his head.
“Promise. Come on, let's pack my things now," Kent said and he brings the bottle of wine with him.
Cassandra checks everything. The glass and the wine bottle itself.
"Don't worry, there's no poison on it. Don't you trust me?” Kent asks her.
Cassandra sat and looked at him. She crossed her legs together and her arms on her chest. She raised her eyebrows at him.
“How will I trust you? I don't know what you put inside these drinks." She's very smart. She won't believe him.
Kent doesn't know what to do. Will he drink it? If he does, he will go to sleep instantly because he poured ten capsules inside. But he has no choice. He will drink first.
"Okay, to erase your doubts, I will take the first glass!” he challenges her.

Police officers and Detective Damian heard their conversation.
“Sir, this is bad. Kent will drink it. Shall we call the backup to attack or stay?” Rick, one of the police officers told Damian.
All of them were tense. They don't know if this mission and rescue operating will work. They were shocked when Mr. Alexander Stone arrived.
"Sir, we are doing an operation for your grandson, what brings you here?” Damian asked him.
Alexander clears his throat and hands them a long white envelope. They look puzzled while staring at one another.
“What is this?” Damian asked him after accepting it.
"That is Cassandra's profile. I know her. I was the one who put her in jail. I think they're looking for me and they targeted Kent's son." His voice seems genuine.
"Come here. We need to talk." Detective Damian leads him inside his office.

"Wait, okay, I trust you now. Why don't we do the toast?” Cassandra uttered.
Kent felt relieved but he must drink with her. It's okay, he has a plan.
He pours one glass for her and one glass for him. He raised it and Cassandra did the same.
“For a new baby and our first night, cheers!” she said.
Kent waited for her to drink it and he did the same. They both emptied the wine glass, but Kent didn't actually drink. He quickly spit out his wine when she wasn’t looking, and he saw Cassandra was starting to look dizzy.
"I feel sleepy. What was in that drink? How dare you do this to me?” she yelled at him while her body is shaking.
Kent took the bottle and hit her head, but Cassandra avoided his attack. Her body swayed as she got up.
Kent's glared at her. He couldn't contain the anger that he wanted to kill her.
“You messed up our life. You ruined everything!” he yelled at her.
Cassandra took the syringe behind her back and run to inject it into Kent.
"You can't take Austin from us! He's my son. He belongs to us!” she said.
Kent didn't know that she's holding a syringe but before Cassandra injected it into him, he saw it and kick her which made her stumbled on the floor.
Cassandra hits her elbows and winces in pain. She was about to fight back but the effect of sleeping pills took her over.

Lucy POV:
I can't trust the police anymore. They're not moving. What if my husband will get killed by my crazy friend Cassandra? I can't sit here and wait for nothing. I heard Kent's screaming and they're fighting. I need to go and save him. She's crazy as hell.
I quickly took my car keys and head outside the house. I check my dad Raphael inside his room before I go. He's sleeping so I slowly close his door and went to save my husband and our son.
If Gregory was alive, maybe he will help his best friend, Kent.
While on my way, I received a phone call from detective Damian. I am hoping that this is good news since I can't hear my husband's voice anymore.
“Hello, sir. I'm on my way. Any update? Did you capture Cassandra?” I asked him.
My hands are trembling on the steering wheel. I felt my sweats running down my face. I'm feeling it again. The day when I and my dad got abducted by Eloisa's men.
I tried to put my attention on the steering wheel.

"Miss Lucy, we found the real culprit of Cassandra's victim and he declared that he schemed her murder case. She's not crazy too and she's not a murderer. She just had anxiety." Damian narrated every information she has to know.
Lucy doesn't know what to do. So, Cassandra was innocent just like her? If the real culprit showed himself, who would it be?
Lucy tightened her grip on her phone. She slows down her speed and places her earphones on her ears.
"He's connected to your husband, Kent. We're doing our best to track your husband until my men list him. I want you to calm down for what I about to say, Mrs. Stone, okay?” Damian informed her.
Lucy is always ready for everything. She's getting used to it.
“I'm ready, sir. Please tell me because I am on my way to find my husband's location. I'm afraid she will kill him,” she said while waiting for his answer.
Lucy took a deep breath.
"It's Kent's dad. Mr. Alexander Stone confessed what happened ten years ago. Mrs. Eloisa Stone's dad was part of it also." After hearing it, Lucy stops her car near the vacant road. She can't drive well when her heart feels heavy.
She took a deep breath. She wants to gather her strength to know the truth.
"Wait, sir. Are you telling me that Kent's dad killed the old lady, their neighbor?” she asked him.
“Nope. Mr. Sherlock hired a killer to kill Mrs. Dorothy." Damian replied.
Lucy needs a rest but at this moment, she needed to get back to her son and to check his husband at Cassandra's hands. It's not too late to stop her. She's just broken because her daughter died because of Kent's dad's selfishness.
"Sir, can we talk right now. Reopen her case as soon as possible. Kent's app is working again. I found him! Bye." Lucy told the detective and she quickly stepped outside her car and saw an old house.
Before she went inside, she took her husband's licensed gun inside her bag. She placed it behind her pants. Lucy checks the whole area, but she didn't see anything suspicious. She's hoping to see Austin inside this place.
She slowly checks the knob and she's happy that it's not locked.
"Hang on, Kent. Please don't die both of you. Cassandra, this is the time to clean your name,” she mumbled while the main door creaks a little.
She's worried that Cassandra heard her. She doesn't care what they are doing but she must stop them. Lucy finally reads the bedroom door. The only room that's closed.
Lucy wanted to call her sin but it's dangerous to make a noise. As she reaches the knob, she's hesitant to open it because she's afraid to find something unforgivable.
“I need to be brave. I need to do this." She convinced herself that she can open the door.
When she started to twist the knob and pushed the door inside, Lucy's eyes widened to see Cassandra's holding a syringe and was about to inject it into Kent, but Lucy quickly pointed the gun at her friend.
"Stop! Don't do it or else I will click this and shot your heads off, Cassandra,” she shouted.
Cassandra suddenly stops and saw her. She's not ready to see Lucy at this rate. Lucy, though, can forgive her but the way her eyes stared like she’s nothing to her, Lucy goes mad, and she decided to follow her instincts.
"Don't tell me you're not going to stop! Don't hit Kent, please, Cassandra. We can talk about this." Lucy is now pleading for her mercy.
Cassandra has decided. She raised the syringe and about to inject it at Kent's neck when a gunshot echoes inside the room.
