"The authorities have sent the victims to the hospital for testing, in hopes of getting a trace of this cure, to end this virus spreading in the werewolf kingdom."

"Good luck cracking that code," Jeremy laughed out proudly

Sonia and I came over to see him that morning, before the news came up.

"Only a true genius can figure out the ingredients used in making that cure. That's if they're able to find a trace in their blood," Jeremy cackled.

Sonia and I chuckled at his behavior.

You can tell he's enjoying every bit of this news, and I like it.

I'm always proud of Crescent's smartest lab doctor when he's at the top. It shows how unique and incredible he is.

"They started it by making that virus of a drug, hard for someone to study. But you cracked the code and gave them something way harder to solve," Sonia pointed out, increasing Jeremy's satisfaction.

With a smile, he said, placing his hand on her shoulder, "I like your brains. You're a smart girl. That'll explain your creative thought behind the video you made."

"Oh, you saw that?" Sonia blushed, her cheeks turning red while glancing at me.

She must think I told Jeremy about this, but she was in for a surprise.

"Yes, I did. In fact, Arnold was the one who told me about your talent and how your video got millions of wolves talking about the Alpha and..."

"Wait, Arnold told you?!" Her eyes grew large with curiosity.

Jeremy confirmed and began telling Sonia all the nice things the Beta said about her.

Jeremy grinned and carefully sat Sonia down, giving her all the details she needs.

Now she'll understand why I decided to come here and see Jeremy.

I directed my attention back to the screen to watch the ladies being taken into different Vans, heading for the hospital.

This made my heart swell with joy.

"You're doing wonderfully well, Diego," I murmured happily, proud of my Alpha.

We already watched the news last night when it first aired. And Diego was delighted when the reporters deemed him a mysterious savior.

"I bet they're trying so hard to figure out if this enemy is someone they know or someone new," He had mocked, getting flirty with me immediately.

Diego had smirked, proving me right.

But last night's plan almost got interrupted by someone's call.

It was Woods.

The old wolf sent me his digits yesterday morning, in hopes of having a contact me. So, I accepted and gave him a call—through a different line, monitored by Diego.

So when he called last night, I didn't answer him. Instead, I sent him a text to call me in the morning, letting him know how busy I was.

To spice things up, I sent a picture of myself laying half naked—with my boobs facing down—on Diego's strong hot body.

My Alpha was in support of this.

"All I have to do is wait for his call to come in and..."

RING! RING!! My new phone came buzzing out with Woods name on the screen.

With Sonia and Jeremy chatting away, I quietly excused myself into the silent part of the lab to be alone.

Once I answered Woods call, I got into character immediately. "You almost ruined a perfect night for me, old man. It's a good thing I ignored your call. I can't allow my Alpha knowing I have your number."

"And you think he'll foolishly let me off his that easily? Be smart, Alpha. Diego knows you're obsessed with me. He'll only make me a bait to fish you out," I scoffed, staying in character.

Woods hummed at my words and said, "You're smart. The harsh reality of this life has made you into a fiesty beauty I can't resist. You make me crave desperately for your body."

I rolled my eyes, irritated by his words.

"I saw the picture you sent. It was...quite disturbing, seeing you naked on that dog."

"I'm sure you meant beast."

Woods chuckled deeply, saying, "How about we meet this evening at the hotel, and I show you?"

"My actions will tell, my dear. I'll send you the address," He said, ending the call.

Before I could lower the phone down completely, Woods had sent me the address to the hotel, with his room number attached.

I immediately placed a call through to Diego, sharing my conversation with him.

"He got carried away by his lust and forgot to tell me why he called last night. But I'll find out when I see him this evening."

"I'm sure he called because of the news. He wants to get some information out of you."

I had to agree with him on that.

With the Mafias now knowing there's a cure, surely Woods first suspect will be Diego.

"I trust you to handle the situation, my Queen," Diego believed, making me happy.

Setting my eyes on the address sent by the old Alpha, I asked Diego, "Now that we have his hotel address, will you attack him tonight?"

This looked like an opportunity to end the Alpha once and for all.

But Diego said, "No, Anna. Attacking him now won't be the best. His invitation is too open and suspicious. There's a possibility that he suspects you and wants to see if you'll get me involved. That place could be crowded with his guards, waiting to ambush me. One needs to be smart."

"You're right," I agreed, keeping the phone back in my purse.

"But I will surely come with you. I can't leave my woman in the arms of that animal. He might be planning to take you away from me."

"I saw that coming," I laughed, admiring his possession over me.

Diego chuckled, before delivering me a heartwarming news. "I'm outside the lab now. Be expecting me in the next one minute."

"Wait, you're here?!" I gasped, my heart swelling with joy.

Without hesitating, I ran to the entrance of the lab to block Diego. But when I got there, I didn't see him.

I thought he was pulling a prank on me, until I felt two strong arms pulling me into a corner, pinning me against the wall.

"I knew you'd come," Diego smiled, locking lips with me.

I know we saw each other this morning, but it feels like a whole day already. I was so happy to be in his hold again.

"I thought you said you were heading out on a mission?" I asked, my forehead resting on his.

"That's what I'm doing. I'm here to complete the mission by getting my Queen," He said, kissing my hands.

"I have a surprise for you."

"Really? What is it?" My face bloomed with curiosity.

Diego poked my nose and reminded, "It's a surprise. You'll only know when we get there."

"Oh, so it's like a date, huh?" I bit down on my lip, taking hold of his tie seductively.

That got Diego smirking, as he said, wrapping his arms around my waist, "I'll suggest we go now before Jeremy finds us getting messy in his lab."

"I bet he'll just hand us a key to one of the rooms and beg us not to blind bim. Don't kill me with your horniness. Just take this key and go!" I dramatized, making Diego laugh.

"Now I'm curious to try it out, my dear. Let's plan a day to have sex in the lab."

"Diego!" I gasped, tapping him on the chest.

Our rough play was seen by a security guard, who heard our voices and came by to check.

When he saw us together, the guard immediately looked away, apologizing for interrupting us.

"It's okay. Just do us a favor and pass my message to Doctor Jeremy. Let him know that we just left."

"And tell Miss Sonia the Beta will be here soon. She'll understand," He added.

The guard left to pass the message while we went on our way to our date.

At the backseat of the car, Diego had me blindfolded, preparing me for my surprise.

I was already picturing a nice dinner table, decorated with flowers or something nice that'll steal my heart away.

"Are we there yet?" I asked, tempted to yank the blindfold off.

"Patience. We're almost there," He responded, keeping my hands down.

A few minutes later, I felt the car coming to a stop, followed by Diego's arms around my body, supporting me out of the vehicle.

He guided me up a stairs, making weird turns that got me suspecting the location.

"I know it's a restaurant, but I don't know which one," I indicated, hearing Diego chuckle from my side.

He's enjoying this.

Soon, Diego said, "Have a seat, but don't take the blindfold off. I'll do it, okay?"

"Okay?" I smiled, sitting down carefully with Diego's help.

With my hands falling on my lap, I felt the blindfold being attended to from behind.

Once it was off, "Now you can open your eyes," Diego instructed, his voice coming from my left hand side.

Excited, I did as he said and was left stunned by the surprise before me.

"Anna... How are you?"

"Da...Dad?" I stuttered, gazing at my own father in shock!
