Chapter 319 We Are So Lucky to Have You
Aydan did not realize that Joey was deep in thought. Looking around at the bustling shopping mall, Aydan put his hand on Joey's shoulder.
"Joey, when we arrived, I noticed a new bar nearby. We are alone tonight. Why don't we go there and have some fun?"
Joey withdrew himself from his deep thoughts and glanced at Aydan, who was full of interest in the bar. Then Joey curled his lips.
"Don't get drunk and act like a freaking kid!"
"That was in the past. My alcohol tolerance has improved a lot in the past few years. If you don't believe me, I'll show you later!" Aydan said as he walked out with knitted brows.
...
In the apartment, the kids were sitting in front of the coffee table, censoring themselves by writing down reviews.
Sitting in front of them was their cold-faced father.
Although today's incident was a false alarm, their parents were frightened. After all, the kids were kidnapped not long ago.
Ann was sacred. On the way back, she had been holding the kids and refused to let them go.
Carson and Jackson were writing seriously while frowning. Nikki was sitting in the middle of them, looking upset.
Holding the pen, Nikki only managed to write down a few words.
Carson and Jackson learned to read at an early age. Besides, they had read many books. But Nikki was no different from her peers, who barely knew a few words.
Ann brought them fruit and sat down next to Phillip.
Seeing Nikki biting her pen with a troubled face, Ann couldn't help but laugh.
"If you can't write, drop the pen. Come here and have some fruit."
The eyes of the kids lit up. Carson and Jackson raised their heads and saw their father's serious and gloomy face. They looked at the fruit and lowered their heads to continue writing.
Seeing that her brothers did not touch any fruit, Nikki stared at the fruit in front of her and licked her mouth. She did not touch the fruit, either. Instead, she lowered her head and continued to bite her pen, trying hard to write down a sentence.
Ann felt hurt to see that. So she turned to Phillip, who was wearing a grim face.
"It's not their fault. Kids want to play. That's their nature and we haven't taken them out for a while."
"This time it's an accident, but we can't make sure next time will be the same." Phillip turned to look at Ann.
Although Phillip was sure that those who coveted the power of the Moore family dared not to lay their hands on Ann and the children rashly, there were too many unpredictable things.
There was too much danger in the world, and Phillip could only try his best to avoid them.
Yet when it came to his women and children, he did not dare take any risks.
Ann stared at Phillip and understood him. For a moment, she wanted to cry. She held Phillip's hand tightly.
"Phillip, we are so lucky to have you."
'Thank you for trying your best to protect us.' said Ann in her heart.
In the end, the children finished writing down the reviews under Phillip's strict gaze.
Carson and Jackson's handwriting was great. Their reviews were well-organized and logical, though there were also distinctive features of kids' writing.
By contrast, Nikki only managed to write a few lines, and her handwriting was also terrible. Some of the words were also misspelled and looked blurry.
That was because Carson and Jackson finished before Nikki. Nikki couldn't write, so she cried out of anxiety.
After she finished writing, Nikki curled up in Ann's arms pitifully and had fruit while complaining.
"Daddy is bad! I don't want Daddy to hug me!"
In her memory, Phillip had always been gentle to her. He was nicer to her than her brothers, and this was the first time she had seen Phillip so strict.
Phillip, who was being a strict father just now, looked at Nikki in a doting and helpless way. He didn't know what to do to make Nikki permit him to hug her again.
"Are you sure? If you insist, I'll take your brothers to the amusement park tomorrow without you!"
Nikki, with her mouthful of fruit, stared at Phillip in disbelief with her pitch-black eyes. Her long and curly eyelashes trembled. Grabbing Ann's clothes with her little hands, she cried loudly.
"Daddy is so bad!"
Ann coaxed Nikki as she glared at Phillip.
Phillip touched his nose. He planned to take the kids to the amusement park to bond with them, but he did not expect that things were against his wish.
The next day was the weekend. Phillip was a man of his word. As the boss of the Moore Group, he was always busy, but he still cleared his schedule and took the little guys to the amusement park.
Phillip forced the kids to write reviews because he wanted them to know that they could not wander around alone. He took them to the amusement park because he agreed with Ann. Since he and Ann were forced to break up, the kids had been living a depressing life.
Children were always curious and wanted to explore.
Ann chose the clothes for the kids last night. It was sunny today. The temperature was mild, but the sun was a bit dazzling.
Ann picked pink T-shirts, suspenders, and hats with cat ears for the little guys. When the little ones finished dressing up, Ann felt her heart melting for them.
Ann suddenly wanted to dress the same as her kids. So she took a suspender that she hadn't worn for a long time and a pink shirt from her wardrobe.
Phillip had already changed his clothes and was waiting for them in the living room.
He looked up and saw Ann come out with the little fellows. He fell silent for a moment and his brows were slightly furrowed.
Ann saw it and asked, "What's wrong? Don't we look good?"
Phillip glanced at the clothes Ann and the kids were wearing and thought of his wardrobe.
He only had black, white, and grey clothes. Although Todd and Aydan would occasionally give him some designer clothes as gifts, those clothes were never pink.
Phillip pursed his lips and stood up.
"You look nice."
Ann blinked. Phillip was praising them, but she somehow felt that he seemed to be unhappy.
It was the weekend. Other than some students and couples, parents and their children packed the amusement park.
It was crowded. Phillip lined up to buy tickets.
Ann and the three little guys were waiting in the small pavilion not far away, and their outstanding appearances attracted the attention of most people.
The sun was burning. It was a long line and Phillip was far behind. Ann bent down to ask the kids who were standing obediently.
"Are you thirsty? Do you want mommy to take you to buy drinks?"
The little guys had been staring at the bubble tea shop opposite them for a while. When they heard Ann's question, they nodded happily.
Ann asked them to hold hands and lead them over, but a person suddenly ran past her.
Ann felt a pain in her shoulder. She turned and realized that her bag had been stolen!
