Zane’s POV
I was pissed, I honestly thought we had all the fuckers. But no, the pricks had to come and try to ambush us at the wharf. I was just glad that Betty and Roland were in the car with Albert and Bethany. If they had been on their own this could be a whole different situation. I could sense 5 men hanging around and I nodded at Gerald and we split up to kill them. It didn’t take us long before we met back up at the boat and saw Ivy looking at Lachlan in awe.
“Why are you looking at my son like that?” I asked her as I climbed back into the boat and pulled Zara into my arms.
“A man came up from the water” she told me “And Lachlan spoke to the sea animals, and they pulled him under and I think they killed him”
“They did” Lachlan confirmed “They removed his oxygen tank and held him under to drown”
“You can talk to animals?” I asked him
“Yep” he grinned “I learnt it from Nana Bethany when I was in mummy’s tummy”
“Fucking hell” Gerald laughed “Thank you for protecting my mate”
“I will always keep Aunty Ivy safe” he told him
Albert and Bethany turned up with Zara’s parents and rushed over to us.
“We got fucking ambushed” Albert snarled “Four men tried to run us off the road”
“Are you ok?” Zara asked as she ran over to her parents
“We are fine” Betty told her “Albert dealt with all the men with ease while Bethany carried on driving”
“Lachlan dealt with the guy that was hiding under the water beside the boat to get us” Ivy told her.
“How did you do that little man?” Bethany asked as she climbed into the boat next to him
“I spoke to the animals like you do” he smiled “I remembered the spell from when you did it on the rat”
“You were not even born” she laughed
“No, but mum was excited, so I paid attention” he smiled
“I should have left the glamour on the boat” I grunted “But I thought we were safe and wanted to make sure Betty and Roland could see it”
“We are fine” Zara reassured me “But I am worried if even more hunters are hiding ready to attack”
“I will set up security alarms and cameras all around the house” I told her “I will make sure that no human or supernatural can get through without me knowing. I was too slack on the last house as I honestly didn’t think I had to worry about humans. Now I know better and I will make sure we are prepared”
“Let’s get back to the island” Albert grunted “I think we need to see if we can get any more information out of the men before the hunt begins tomorrow”
I had to agree with him, we had to try and see if we could find out how many more men, they had out there. “Let’s go”
The boat ride was quiet, and I knew that we were all lost in thought. Me, I was planning on ways to torture information out of the men.
“Can I come and help you gather information?” Zara asked me when we were halfway to the island.
“As if I would ever say no to you” I smirked “You will probably be much more creative than us old ones”
I looked at the twins who were holding hands and looked to be in a deep conversation with each other. I was looking forward to getting them alone and finding out all about the skills that they had. I was still shocked that Lachlan could talk to animals, as that was a skill that only a witch could possess. Even learning the spell did not give him to power to perform it.
Once we arrived back at the island we made the slow walk back to the tower.
“We will go and grab everyone some lunch” Bethany told us
“Then when we get back, we will go and get some information” Albert told me just before they disappeared.
“While they get lunch, we will be in our room” I told everyone as I grabbed Zara and the twins and transported us all to our room.
“Ok, talk” I told the twins as soon as we were alone
“We have too many skills to tell you in a short time like now” Lachlan sighed “But we possess the power of every supernatural”
“What?” Zara asked
“Like before” Lachlan smiled “We can possess the powers of a witch”
“Or the strength of a werewolf” Isla added
“Or the control of a Siren” Lachlan winked
“You can make them talk” I smirked
“Yes” Lachlan confirmed “And with our succubus blood, we will be too strong, and they will be unable to fight it”
“That will be cool to see” Zara grinned “Can the others come see, or do you want it to be a secret from them?”
“They can know” Isla told us “We trust them and love them, but they cannot tell others”
“If they do, we might get hunted” Lachlan sighed
“They won’t” I told him “And the hunters will all be dead by the time they leave the island, so they won’t utter a word”
“Then let’s go meet the others and have some lunch” Zara grinned as she took their hands
“To the dining room” Isla chuckled and she disappeared before I could even grab her.
“What the fuck” I grumbled as I focused on Zara and landed next to her and the twins in the dining room.
“They arrived without you” Gerald smirked
“A skill they forgot to tell us about” I growled
“Surprise” Isla giggled
“So do we get to know about the skills?” Ivy asked while smiling at the twins
“Yes” Lachlan told her “But we want to show you another skill before we tell you”
“What skill?” Gerald asked me
“They are going to get the information we need from the hunters” I smirked “And without use of bloodshed or pain”
