Chapter 64 Chapter 64

Chapter 64 Chapter 64
CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

Dimitri's POV

Mikhail came to my room the next morning after I made the announcement. His expression was serious and concerned.

"Dimitri," he said. "I must advise you against this marriage."

I was sitting at my desk, reviewing guest lists. I looked up at him.

"Why?" I asked simply.

"Because it is dangerous," Mikhail explained. "Because the underworld will not accept it."

He walked closer, his hands were clasped behind his back.

"A brother impregnated a woman, and now another brother is marrying her?" He continued. "It has never been done. It goes against all our traditions."

"I do not care about traditions," I said firmly.

"The other families will mock you," Mikhail warned. "They will see it as weakness."

"Let them mock," I replied. "Their opinions mean nothing to me."

Mikhail sighed deeply. "You are being stubborn."

"I am being determined," I corrected. "There is a difference."

He studied me for a long moment, then shook his head.

"I cannot stop you," he said finally. "But I want you to understand the consequences."

"I understand perfectly," I assured him.

“And also, I won't be attending the abomination.” He said, and left angrily.

After Mikhail left, I called a meeting with all my top guards.

They gathered in my office, standing at attention.

"I am getting married in three days," I announced. "Security must be perfect."

The head guard nodded. "Yes, boss. We will increase security detail."

"That is not enough," I said. "I want guards at every entrance, every exit. I want men patrolling the grounds constantly."

I stood up and walked to the window, looking out at the estate.

"Most importantly," I continued, turning back to face them. "Alexei and his men are not to be allowed in. Under any circumstances."

"Understood, boss," the guard said.

"If you see anyone suspicious, anyone who does not belong, you stop them immediately," I added. "Use force if necessary."

The guards nodded in unison.

"This is the most important event," I said seriously. "Nothing can go wrong. Am I clear?"

"Yes, boss!" They responded together.

As the days passed, word of the wedding spread through the underworld.

The reactions were exactly as Mikhail predicted. Shock, disbelief, mockery.

Other mafia families were talking about it constantly. I heard the whispers, the jokes, the criticism.

"Have you heard? Dimitri is marrying his brother's baby mama!"

"It is insane! It has never been done!"

"One brother impregnated her, another is marrying her. What kind of family is this?"

But I ignored them all. Their opinions meant nothing to me.

All that mattered was Irina. All that mattered was keeping her safe and making her mine. Even though I don't remember our past.

The wedding day finally arrived.

The estate was transformed into something magical. Everywhere was lit with gold, silver, and diamond decorations.

Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings, sparkling in the light.

White roses and lilies filled every room, their sweet scent perfumed the air.

The main hall where the ceremony would take place was decorated with thousands of white candles.

Mafia families from all over started arriving. Their expensive cars pulled up to the estate one after another.

Men in tailored suits and women in designer gowns stepped out, looking around with curiosity and judgment.

I stood at the entrance, greeting them formally. Playing the role of gracious host even though I could see the mockery in their eyes.

"Congratulations, Dimitri," they would say with fake smiles.

"Thank you," I would reply politely, knowing they were laughing behind my back.

But I did not care. Let them laugh. Let them mock.

Before the ceremony started, I gathered my guards one final time.

"Remember," I said seriously. "Alexei is not to enter. Be on the lookout for him or any of his men."

"Yes, boss," they confirmed.

"If he tries anything, stop him," I added. "I do not care how you do it. Just stop him."

The guards dispersed to their positions. They were stationed everywhere, watching.

The ceremony was about to begin.

I stood at the altar. My heart pounded with anticipation and nervousness.

Then the music started playing. Everyone turned to look at the entrance.

And there she was.

Irina.

She looked absolutely stunning. Breathtakingly beautiful.

Her white gown was adorned with silver threads and pearls that caught the light with every step.

The dress was designed perfectly to hide her small pregnant belly. You could not tell she was carrying a child.

Her hair was styled elegantly, with small white flowers woven through it.

Her face glowed with happiness, though I could see nervousness in her eyes too.

She walked down the aisle slowly. Every eye in the room was on her.

I could hear the whispers, the comments, the judgment.

But she held her head high. Dignified and graceful.

When she finally reached me, I took her hand gently.

"You look beautiful," I whispered.

She smiled. "Thank you."

The ceremony began. The priest started speaking the traditional words.

Everything was perfect. Everything was going according to plan.

The guests watched silently. Some with genuine happiness, others with barely concealed disapproval.

After the vows, we mingled with guests for a while. Everyone congratulated us.

Then a waiter approached us with a tray.

Two crystal glasses filled with champagne sat on the silver tray.

"Congratulations," the waiter said with a smile.

We smiled back and took the glasses.

"To us," I said, raising my glass.

"To us," Irina repeated.

We clinked our glasses together and drank the champagne in one go.

The liquid was sweet and bubbly, going down smooth.

But then something felt wrong.

My head started spinning slightly. The room seemed to tilt.

"Dimitri?" Irina asked. "Are you okay?"

I tried to focus on her face but everything was blurry.

"I am fine," I said, but my voice sounded strange even to my own ears.

Sweat started forming on my forehead. My shirt felt too tight suddenly.

The music was so loud. It pounded in my head like drums.

"I need..." I started, but the words were hard to form. "I need to get to the bathroom."

"I will come with you," Irina said, concerned.

"No," I said quickly. "No, it would not make sense. You stay here."

I walked away quickly, pushing through the crowd. People's faces were all blurred together.

I made it to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face.

What was happening to me? Why did I feel so weak?

I looked at myself in the mirror. My reflection stared back at me.

But something was different.

Something I could not quite identify.

The dizziness was getting worse. The room spun around me.

I gripped the sink to steady myself. My knuckles turned white from the pressure.

What was wrong with me? Was I sick? Was it the champagne?

I looked at myself in the mirror. My reflection stared back at me. I splashed water on my face.

After a few minutes, the feeling started to pass. The dizziness faded.

I dried my face and straightened my suit. Time to go back to Irina.

Then I felt a presence behind me.

Before I could turn aro

und, I felt something hard hit the back of my head.

Pain exploded through my skull.

My legs gave out immediately. I collapsed to the floor.

My vision blurred. Everything went dark at the edges.

I tried to move, tried to fight, but my body would not respond.

Throughy darkness, I saw a figure standing over me.

A face came into focus. A familiar face.

Silver hair. Blue eyes. Features that looked exactly like mine.

My brother.

"Alexei," I whispered before everything went black.
