Chapter 66 - Surprised by Three Mates

April POV

I laid the test on the counter as my mates hovered over me.

“Okay, now we wait 3 minutes,” I said.

“That’ll take forever.” Alastair groaned. I giggled and shook my head.

“I know how we could pass the time..” Klaus said. I squealed and ran out of the bathroom.

“No! There are like 2 1/2 minutes left. That’s not enough time for anything.” I said as I jumped on the bed. I used a pillow to shield myself from him.

“Ugh, fine. You’re right.. I need more or less 5 minutes.” He teased. I choked on my saliva as I laughed.

“2 minutes,” Alastair said from the bathroom.

Alexei walked to the doorway of the bathroom and looked at us with a smile.

“I’m excited.” He said. I hopped off the bed and Klaus grabbed me, planting a big kiss on my forehead.

“Me too,” I said. When Klaus let me go I walked over to Alexei and he pulled me in his arms.

“We’re gonna have pups,” Alexei said in a soft voice.

“We are.” I smiled. He pressed his forehead against mine and smiled brightly.

“30 seconds,” Alastair said from the bathroom. My heart raced erratically in my chest. I already know the answer.. but this test just makes it even more realistic.

“10, 9, 8, 7,” Alastair continued counting down as the rest of us piled back into the bathroom. I took a deep breath and held it as I waited for the timer to go off. Alexei put his phone down and pressed the record button. He said he wanted to have a video to look back at throughout the years.

The second it went off my mates looked at me. We had 4 tests lined up next to each other. Two cheap pink dyes, two digitals. We only did four because everyone wanted their own to flip over and look at.

“Ready?” I asked. They all nodded and smiled nervously.

“1,2,3,” Klaus counted and we all picked up a test. My heart soared the second I saw two very bright lines. If I was human, they would be negative.

I squealed excitedly, my mates hugging each other before they pulled me into a group hug. Tears rolled down my cheeks, I didn’t believe I could ever be this happy.. but here I am. Grossly wet and red-faced.

“We’re going to be parents,” Alastair whispered. The joy I felt through the bond was almost overwhelming.

Once they pulled away I looked at them.

“When do you want to start telling people?” I asked.

“As soon as possible. This is amazing news.. I would shout it from the top of the Eiffel Tower if I could right now.” Klaus said.

“I agree, I’d like to share as soon as you’re up for it,” Alexei said.

“Same here,” Alastair said. Alastair’s face was red, and his eyes filled with tears. How did I get blessed with such wonderful mates? Such loving.. caring and absolutely amazing mates?

“We can tomorrow. First, I need a good night's sleep.” I said. Alexei picked up his phone and switched it off. I was about to just walk to bed when Alastair’s arms snaked under my knees and he picked me up bridal style and carried me to the bed.

“You’re pregnant, can’t have you doing too much.” He said. I giggled and shook my head.

“I don’t think walking 10 feet to the bed is that much work. And please tell me you won’t do this the entire pregnancy.. just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I can’t do things.” I huffed. I crossed my arms when he chuckled and rolled his eyes.

“I will try my best.. but I make no promises.” He said.

“Wait.. so you’ll be less than a month pregnant around the time we go to war with Catherine.. I don’t think I feel comfortable with you fighting.” Klaus said.

“Mom and I had this conversation. She said she has some ideas to help with that if I were to be pregnant. Ya know.. my mom fought a bunch of forsaken, vampires, wolves.. and Lycans when she was 4 months pregnant with me and Seb. Just don’t worry. When we tell her, she will know how to help.” I said.

“Can she do that whole vampire diaries thing? Where the Gemini coven put the twins in Caroline’s womb?” Alastair asked. Klaus scoffed and plopped on the bed. Alastair sat me down and I crawled into my spot.

“You watch too many tv shows,” Klaus said.

“What? It’s a genuine question. What if something were to happen to April? The pup wouldn’t make it.” Alastair said.

“I think that’s just made up, Ali.“ I chuckled.

“Just don’t worry. Like April said, her mom will know what to do.” Alexei said. Alastair climbed into bed and so did Alexei.

“Wait, can we watch the vampire diaries right now?” I asked. Alexei grabbed the remote and turned on the tv.

“We can watch as many episodes as you’d like. Or at least until you pass out.” He said. He pulled up the vampire diaries and started it at the first episode.

“Gooooood morning!” I tapped on Alastair’s shoulder gently as I whispered.

“Gahhh, morning.” He groaned.

“I told Maria it was a special occasion.. so guess what she made for breakfast,” I said. He didn’t even bother to respond as he shot out of bed and threw on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.

“Klaus is still asleep? That’s unusual.” He yawned in that last part.

“Yeah.. after you fell asleep we were up until 5 am watching the show. He just couldn’t get enough.” I said. He rolled his sleepy eyes and ran his fingers through his hair.

“And he tells me I watch too much tv.” He scoffed. He walked over to Klaus’s side of the bed and tapped his shoulder.

“Wake up! We’re being attacked!” Alastair said loudly. Klaus shot up and looked around frantically, and when he realized Ali was bluffing, he fell backward on the pillow and covered his face with his hands.

“Did you have to wake me up like that?” Klaus asked.

“Sorry,” Ali said.

“If you guys want to tell everyone we’re pregnant, you’d better hurry up,” I said. Klaus quickly got up and got dressed.

“Where’s Alexei?” Klaus asked.

“He’s feeding downstairs. Come on, I’m hungry.” I said.

“Gotta keep the pups fed,” Alastair said.

“Pups? As in.. more than one?” I asked.

“You’re a twin.. you never know. We might have twins too.” He said. I shook my head quickly.

“Nope! Not happening!” I said as I quickly made my way to the door and opened it.

“Too late, they’re already in there.” He joked.

They both followed me downstairs and into the dining room where all of my family was sitting at the table.

“Why did Maria make French toast?” Seb asked.

“No reason,” I said, trying my best to hide the smile that wanted to appear on my face and give everything away.

An image of Dad dressed up as a giant baby popped into my mind. I covered my mouth as I choked at the sight.

Sebastian laughed hard, his face turning a shade of purple when he couldn’t stop laughing long enough to breathe.

“That was just wrong.” I giggled.

“You thought it was funny, though.” He breathed out heavily.

“Oh for sure,” I said with a smile. I took my seat and my mates took theirs.

Maria walked into the dining room with a couple of servants, plates of French toast in each of their hands. Maria smiled at me knowingly, before handing me my plate. She’d also given me fruits, whipping cream, and sides of toppings.

“Why’d she get all that? Can I have some?” Viktor reached for my plate and Maria gave him a stern look. He pulled his hand back and rolled his eyes.

“Hey, don’t roll your eyes at Maria!” Mom snapped.

“Sorry..” he said in a low tone.

“If you’d have just waited, you’d have realized I had more things to bring out.” Maria giggled. Viktor clapped his hands together excitedly as one of the servants placed two small side cups next to his plate. One cup had Oreo pieces, the other had chocolate chips.

“You’re the best,” Viktor said as he began stuffing his face. Maria giggled at the sight.

“So.. we have news,” I said.

Mom gave me a bright smile, while everyone else waited to find out. Of course, mom knows. That’s not surprising at all.

“I’m pregnant,” I said. Mom, aunt Dakota, Charlie, and Beckett all squealed excitedly. The men just looked at me shocked.

“I knew it the moment you walked in!” Mom said. She ran over and gave me a big hug.

“My little girl is going to be a momma.” My dad's eyes filled with tears. He got up and when mom w pulled away, he pulled me in for a hug.

“I'm going to be an Uncle!” Sebastian said super loudly. He almost launched himself at me and held me right in his arms.

“You are, and I'm going to be an aunt!” I said happily.

“Theyll be close in age, watch them be the best of friends.” he said.

“Of course they will.” I smiled. He squeezed me right once more before letting me go and walking back to his mate.

“Oh!! I can’t wait to go baby shopping!” Dakota said.

“Two babies on the way! First Sebastian and Seraphine, now our April and her mates! This is amazing! Congratulations guys. You are all going to be amazing parents.” Uncle William said.

“Thank you, uncle will.” I smiled at him when dad pulled away.

“My best friend is having a pup!” Beckett said excitedly.

“Pups.” Ali corrected her. Her eyes widened and she looked at us crazily.

“Oh stop it, there’s only one in there,” I said.

“You never know!” He said almost instantly.

“You’re telling me. I didn’t know my entire pregnancy. You, my April.. hid from the doctor at every ultrasound. It was definitely a surprise when your Aunt Dakota said there was another baby coming.” Mom said.

“Don’t jinx me!” I said.

“Sorry, dear. I’m not trying to.” She giggled.

I took a bite of my French toast and smiled brightly.

“These are delicious, Maria!” I said.

“We’ll I gotta show that pup how good of a cook I am!” She joked. She pulled me in for a hug.

“Congratulations, April. You will be an amazing mother.” She said.

“Thank you, Maria,” I said.

“April said you could help us out with this.. since.. ya know. The whole Catherine thing. She’ll be around a month pregnant.. we don’t want anything to happen to her or the baby.” Alastair said.

“Right, I have exactly the thing. Don’t worry.” Mom smiled.
