Chapter 589 My Husband is Michael

Chapter 589 My Husband is Michael

"Hey, Owen, sorry man. I planted a bomb on Michael's private jet, but guess what? The dude wasn't even flying private, he went economy!" Ryan's voice carried a hint of apology.

Owen was stunned by Ryan's revelation, nearly dropping his phone in shock.

Owen and Ryan had made their arrangement in private - Isabella would be their target. Michael would never stand by while Isabella was backed into a corner; he'd inevitably move his assets back home for protection. That kind of rapid transfer would require substantial liquid capital.

Ryan knew Michael would have no choice but to sell off his foreign holdings quickly, and when he did, Ryan would be there to snap them up at bargain prices.

Once Ryan had acquired all of Michael's overseas assets, the plan was simple - eliminate Michael before he could make it back to his home country. With him out of the picture, Ryan and Owen would seamlessly absorb everything they'd been eyeing all along.

"Is blowing up his plane really the best you could come up with? Haven't you thought of any other way to take him out?" Owen's anger was palpable.

Ryan's tone was innocent as he replied, "You want me to go all action movie and strap explosives on someone? C'mon, that's too much. Planting a bomb is already pushing it. If you've got a better idea, be my guest."

With that, Ryan abruptly ended the call, leaving Owen unsettled by the situation.

"Is he planning to double-cross us and keep all of Michael's assets for himself?" Owen pondered aloud, his thoughts consumed by suspicion.

Owen had his sights set on Michael's overseas assets, not competing for the Taylor Family's wealth. This was the message relayed to Isabella through Charles by Mason.

The collaboration with Ryan hinged on this plan, with Owen providing significant financial support for Ryan to acquire Michael's assets. Without Owen's backing, Ryan couldn't afford the deal, even at a discounted price.

'I hope you're not planning what I think you are, or you'll regret it,'Owen's eyes flashed with ruthlessness as he approached Anthony and Richard.

"What's the deal, Mr. Williams? We've invested a lot, why did your funds vanish? And who's this new player?" Anthony's hostility was evident in his gaze towards Owen.

Owen suspected the new player was likely Michael but kept this information close, not wanting to escalate the risk.

"I'm clueless about this new player; could be someone from Jeremy's camp. Maybe he's the real deal and can help Isabella," Owen redirected the focus to Jeremy.

Richard's expression soured as he asked, "We've poured in a lot of money, but our shares are dwindling. Should we keep investing?"

Richard wanted Owen to show some sincerity, considering that he and Anthony had invested the most money, while Owen's funds disappeared halfway.

Owen felt a bitter pang inside, as Ryan had used a large portion of his money to buy Michael's assets, leaving him with little for stocks. However, Owen kept his composure. "Remember our deal. The Taylor Family's assets are for you two, not me. Since it's what your families want, it's fair for you to invest more. My initial contribution was just a gesture of goodwill. Spending so much and gaining nothing in return doesn't seem fair, does it?"

Owen's gaze met Anthony's and Richard's, their expressions sour but acknowledging the truth in his words.

"Sir, should we continue buying?" the trader asked cautiously, sensing the tension in the room.

Richard hesitated, feeling a tug at his heart seeing the amount spent on stocks. Investing more could secure the Taylor Family's shares, but the risk weighed heavily on him.

Suddenly, Anthony declared his withdrawal. "My family can't keep up financially. The money spent today could lead to my impeachment. If you can afford it, go ahead. I'm out."

With a dismissive snort, Anthony left, leaving Richard relieved. Without Anthony's impulsive decisions, he wouldn't be pressured to buy more stocks alone.

"Anthony's too hot-headed. I'll go talk to him," Richard said with a smile, excusing himself to follow Anthony, but really to avoid the situation.

Alone now, Owen's grip on the glass tightened until it shattered, the shards cutting into his skin. His muscles twitched with pain and anger.

"Ryan, Michael, just you wait," Owen muttered through gritted teeth.

Meanwhile, in Isabella's presence, the trader sat pale, watching the stocks plummet on the screen.

"We're doomed. The new player bought all our stocks," he lamented, slumped in his chair.

The executives' faces darkened.

Carol turned to Isabella. "Ms. Taylor, please shed some light. Who's this new player?"

All eyes turned to Isabella. Her calm smile brought a glimmer of hope.

Isabella's gaze swept the room, her smile serene. "Don't fret, everyone. We not only avoided losses but made a hefty profit. That new player? My husband!"

The executives were stunned. Someone dared to ask, "Ms. Taylor, who's your husband? How is he wealthier than the big three families?"

Isabella's reply was simple yet powerful. "My husband is Michael."
