Chapter 578 Win Over the Davis Family
Chapter 578 Win Over the Davis Family
After Bianca's suggestion, John sat back, lost in thought.
Did John resent Michael? Absolutely! Michael had played him for a fool, and John couldn't shake off the betrayal.
Isabella, on the other hand, had reaped benefits from her marriage to Michael, despite being deceived. Her gains painted her in a less innocent light.
John held a grudge against both Michael and Isabella, but navigating the family drama left him feeling stuck.
"I can't dwell on this now. I'm focused on bridging the gap between my grandfather and father," John sighed, sinking into the sofa and staring at the ceiling.
Bianca rolled her eyes. "It's simple. If you want them to bond, give them a common enemy. Why not team them up? You know what they both can't stand, right?"
John shot her a look, making Bianca squirm.
"You're onto something?" Bianca raised an eyebrow.
"Nah, I'm clueless about what they both hate," John chuckled, shaking his head.
John knew Owen and Mason's shared dislike for Bianca, but he kept that to himself to avoid stirring trouble.
Bianca sensed John wasn't being entirely truthful but let it slide when he changed the subject.
"So, how do you propose we take down Michael and Isabella? Exposing their marriage won't cut it. It might even boost Isabella's company with Michael's status," John shook his head, assuming Bianca's plan.
But then, with a sly smile, Bianca whispered something to John, leaving him wide-eyed.
"Are you serious?" John asked, his anxiety showing.
Bianca nodded. "My late father hinted at it. He said Isabella doesn't fit in with Jasper and Mia."
"But claiming she's not their biological child sounds far-fetched," John couldn't wrap his head around Bianca's revelation. The family had undergone paternity tests at birth, and Isabella had been part of the family for so long; it seemed implausible.
"I don't know, there might be more to it. But I'm certain Isabella isn't Jasper and Mia's daughter," Bianca shrugged, attributing it to her late father Dexter, whom she couldn't question anymore.
After a moment of contemplation, John turned to Bianca. "How did you find out? And why tell me now if you've known?"
John eyed Bianca suspiciously.
Bianca shrugged. "It just came back to me. If you want proof, why not do a paternity test? Getting Isabella's DNA shouldn't be too hard."
After a moment of consideration, John decided to make a call to set things in motion.
Meanwhile, Isabella remained oblivious to Bianca's scheming as she sat with Avery and Joseph at a restaurant.
"You've been promoted to CEO, must be swamped. Why'd you call us out?" Avery grinned.
Joseph, intrigued, gazed at Isabella. Despite his waning feelings for her, he still cared.
Isabella beamed. "I asked you here because I need your help with something."
Avery reassured her, "We're pals. Spill it; I'll lend a hand if I can."
But Joseph seemed apprehensive, sensing the topic.
"Is this about my dad?" Joseph inquired.
At Joseph's words, Avery tensed.
Isabella locked eyes with Joseph, acknowledging his insight as the heir.
"Yes, I need you to relay a message to your father for me."
Joseph shook his head. "If it's about the election, he's undecided on his support."
Avery, taken aback, interjected, "Election? Is this the right time? And Isabella, have you picked a candidate?"
Isabella confirmed with a nod, maintaining her silence.
Joseph, resigned, turned to Avery. "Avery, keep up with family matters. Owen reached out, pushing for Dad to back Henry."
Avery gasped. "When did this happen? How would I know? I've been out of the loop. Dad's trying to set me up with the Larson Family's son, who's not my type at all."
"Wait, the Davis and Larson families are merging?" Isabella's brow furrowed, realizing the implications of this alliance.
Joseph sighed. "Yes, the merger's set, and I'm to wed Anthony's daughter."
Avery and Isabella were stunned.
"Why wasn't I informed?" Avery exclaimed, shocked.
Joseph explained, "To spare you. Alliances matter more than personal preferences. A union of heirs strengthens family ties."
Before Avery could process the news, Joseph turned to Isabella.
"My dad expects you. He has a condition: hand over all research on hair growth potions and cosmetics."
