Chapter 91

"Look, isn't this so much better now?"

Alvin admired his work with a satisfied grin.

Mary nodded excitedly, her face lighting up with gratitude. "Alvin, I can't thank you enough. I don't even know how to show how grateful I am."

Alvin waved it off with a smile. "No need to thank me. We're friends, right?"

"As long as your online store takes off, that's all the thanks I need."

Mary's eyes filled with tears at his words. She was overwhelmed with gratitude and didn't know how else to express it.

In the end, she just held Lisa's hand, her face full of emotion as she said goodbye to Alvin and the others.

Alvin didn't mind that he had worked hard without expecting anything in return. He was genuinely happy. After all, Mary's situation reminded him a lot of Karen's.

Seeing her struggle alone with Lisa, Alvin couldn't help but think that if he hadn't come here, Karen and Isabelle might be in the same situation as Mary and her daughter.

Alvin had a soft spot for Karen and her friends. Since he had personally taken Isabelle home back then, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

Just as Mary and her daughter were about to leave, Alvin suddenly called out, "Mary, make sure you practice what I taught you today!"

"If you have any questions, just come and ask me anytime!"

"Think about what I said. Your online store will definitely get better and better!"

Mary turned around, her face full of gratitude as she thanked Alvin again.

Alvin quickly said, "Stop!"

"No need to thank me!"

"If you keep doing this, I won't help you next time!"

Mary's eyes reddened again at Alvin's sincere demeanor. She nodded, indicating she wouldn't do it again.

With that, Alvin and his group headed home.

As soon as Alvin walked in, he looked around, searching for Karen.

But instead of Karen, he saw a bunch of packages scattered all over the living room.

Alvin stood there, bewildered by the chaotic scene before him.

The packages were piled up like a small mountain, some already opened, with foam and plastic bags strewn on the floor.

Alvin looked puzzled. Sam picked up one of the packages from the floor, examining it curiously.

Alvin didn't even need to look to know they were baking tools.

He thought Karen might be in the bedroom, so he ran to find her.

"Karen! How was your class today?"

"Are all those baking tools in the living room yours?"

Karen, who was in the kitchen fiddling with her new baking gadgets, heard Alvin's call.

She came out of the kitchen, her hands still dusted with flour. She quickly wiped her hands and ran out.

As soon as she entered the living room, she saw Sam and Isabelle tearing into the packages she had just bought.

"What are you guys doing?"

Karen said with a laugh.

Before Karen arrived, Sam and Isabelle had already opened several packages.

The two of them were like excited children, exploring the new baking tools.

Isabelle's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she held an egg beater, pressing the buttons repeatedly, but it wouldn't spin.

"Mom, Mom, what is this? Why won't it spin?"

"Is it broken?"

Isabelle frowned, looking curiously at the egg beater in her hand.

Karen walked over and immediately took the egg beater from Isabelle.

She looked serious. "Isabelle, this is an egg beater. It's dangerous. Kids shouldn't touch it!"

Sam, on the other hand, was studying the oven's instruction manual. He looked up at Karen.

"Karen, you could start a baking class at home with all this stuff!"

"There are so many things, it's making my head spin!"

Karen just gave Sam a quick glance.

Sam didn't dare say another word.

Alvin heard Karen's voice and quickly ran out.

"Karen, are you turning our house into a bakery?"

Alvin asked half-jokingly, a hint of affection and helplessness in his voice.

"Did you buy all this?"

"Of course, I bought all this and had the delivery guy bring it up."

"I bought so much, I couldn't carry it all with my own hands."

Karen looked playful.

"I was hoping to get everything sorted before you guys got home!"

Then, Karen scratched her head sheepishly.

"I got so excited during class today. I couldn't resist buying all those baking tools."

"Did I buy too much?"

"These are all for my class."

"I'm a pretty amazing baker now. I can even make egg tarts!"

Karen had been busy since class ended, first going to the supermarket to buy a bunch of ingredients.

Now she was sorting everything out.

The house was already small and cluttered.

With all the tools and ingredients she bought, there was no room to put them.

So the kitchen was a mess, piled high with stuff.

Karen hadn't planned on buying any baking tools. She thought she'd wait until they moved to a new house.

But plans change.

Karen had learned so much in her baking class today. She was amazed by the teacher's skills and made some like-minded friends. She could now make egg tarts, which turned out to be surprisingly easy.

So after class, she bought an oven, a bread machine, an egg beater, and various bowls of different sizes. Of course, she also bought different types of flour.

Alvin walked over and gently hugged Karen, wiping the flour off her forehead. "My dear Karen! Buy as much as you want! This house is too small and cramped anyway. When we move to the new place, we'll take all your stuff with us."

As he spoke, Alvin suddenly realized Karen could make egg tarts now. He couldn't help but smile. "Karen, you're amazing! You can make egg tarts now! I can't wait to try them!"

Isabelle's eyes lit up at the mention of egg tarts. She quickly dropped everything and started bouncing around Karen. "Mom, Mom, I want egg tarts! Egg tarts! Egg tarts! Egg tarts!"

Alvin couldn't help but laugh at Isabelle's eager little face. She was a true little foodie.

Alvin quickly said, "We can't have egg tarts today! Someone's taking us to The Epicurean Haven for dinner!"

Isabelle pouted when she heard there would be no egg tarts. Alvin smirked. "Isabelle, do you want egg tarts or lobster?"

Isabelle's eyes lit up at the mention of "lobster." Her love for lobster clearly surpassed her love for egg tarts. She clapped her hands excitedly, almost jumping up and down. "Lobster! I want lobster!"

Soon, she was pulling Alvin's hand, spinning around in circles. Alvin found the scene both amusing and endearing.

Karen was curious about who was taking them to The Epicurean Haven. Alvin then recounted the day's events to her. Karen, full of surprise, had Alvin sit on the couch and tell her everything in detail. She had no interest in the messy living room and kitchen.

Alvin sat on the couch, Karen snuggled up next to him, listening intently to his story. She even found a bag of chips, munching on them as she listened to the exciting tale. Alvin's voice was deep and soothing, making Karen wonder if he was doing it on purpose.

Karen was completely absorbed, nodding occasionally or exclaiming in surprise. She was so engrossed in Alvin's story that she forgot to eat her chips. Sam was still adding details, chattering away as he supplemented Alvin's account.

Through their vivid descriptions, Karen quickly formed a picture in her mind. Her expressions shifted from worry to joy as she listened to their thrilling story. By the end, Karen was in awe of her husband Alvin.

"Alvin, you're amazing!" Karen couldn't help but praise him. She looked at Alvin with wide, admiring eyes. Alvin felt incredibly satisfied and proud. See, this was his charm! He was such a charming, all-around great husband! He could do anything and was adored by his wife.

He didn't think there was anything wrong with his choice of words. Alvin was very proud. Unbeknownst to him, Alvin had undergone significant changes since his time travel. In this journey, Alvin himself had been influenced by fate. His love for Karen had grown beyond his imagination. His love for Karen had become deeply ingrained in his bones. Karen was not just his wife but his soulmate. Their bond had transcended words.

This love was incredibly complex! Alvin willingly immersed himself deeper into this emotion. He was willing to do anything for Karen, even face unknown challenges and fate. Alvin took a deep breath, knowing he was completely immersed in this love, unable to extricate himself. He also thoroughly enjoyed this feeling, willing to embrace it and make it the best part of his life. He believed that as long as Karen was by his side, he could overcome any challenge in the future.

Meanwhile, Isabelle was already impatient to go to The Epicurean Haven. She had been playing by herself while the adults talked. But now that they had stopped chatting, Isabelle ran over to the couch. She tugged on Alvin's hand, urging, "Daddy, let's go, let's go!"

Alvin smiled and patted Isabelle's head. "Don't rush, sweetheart. Didn't you see all the stuff Mom bought? We need to tidy up the house before we go!"

With that, the family started bustling around, organizing the new baking tools and ingredients.
