Chapter 30 - Sylvia’s POV

Dean and I reached the basement parking. I thought he’d leave after walking me to my car. My hand still shook from all the emotions I have, and I found it difficult to put my key in and unlock my car.

“Here, let me do it,” Dean said. His hand took the key from me, and in a swift movement, unlocked it. “I’ll drive. You don’t look like you’re in the right condition to drive.” He moved around and opened the passenger door for me.

I did not protest because he’s right. I’m not in the right condition to drive. The odds of me getting in an accident are high. He fixed my seatbelt before closing my door and moving to the driver’s seat.

“Where to?” he asked, looking at me.

Where to? I don’t know. All I know is I did not want to go home. I did not want to remember how I searched for Joey’s fucking shoes like crazy only to be setup.

Of all the people who would do such a thing, it had to be Joey. She knew how I bled because of him. She knew Jared would host the event, and she hid it from me. How could she work with that asshole?

Dean did not probe me when I did not answer his question. He started the car and drove away. My eyes looked outside the window, but my mind flew elsewhere.

I traveled back to the time I got his text message. A myriad of emotions engulfed me—surprise, confusion, sadness, anger. My world crashed, and I did not know how to move forward. I felt dead. If not for the pain I felt, which reminded me I was still alive. The excruciating pain told me I was not dreaming. The man I loved with all my heart left me. It was not a dream. Everything was real.

I did not know that I was crying until I saw the white handkerchief Dean offered. I took it without looking at him and wiped my tears away.

I cried endless buckets of tears. At first they were only silent tears, then they became sobs. Now, I’m full-on crying and wailing like I’m at a funeral.

Dean let me cry my heart out. He drove in silence. I did not know where he drove us. The place did not look familiar to me, but I did not care.

After driving around, he stopped his car. It seemed like we’re outside the city because there were no towering buildings around us. The surroundings were also quiet, only the sound of crickets disturbed the silence. He got out of the car and stood outside, looking at the darkness ahead. I followed him.

The chilly night breeze embraced my skin as I stood a foot away from Dean. Like him, I looked into the darkness in front of me, hugging myself.

“Do you need me to give you some privacy?” he asked, his voice tender. I leaned my head on his shoulder for my answer. Then I felt his arm wrap around my shoulder. It must have been the comforting feeling that I have somebody with me during this time that made me tear up again. I felt his lips on my forehead as his hand rubbed my back. “Hush now, Sky.”

“Why do you call me that? ”

“Sky?”

I nodded.

“Isn’t that your initials? Sylvia Kate Yabut. S-K-Y.”

Oh yeah, it is. It’s funny, I did not realize it until he spelled it out for me.

“I know you like to keep your personal things personal, but can you tell me what’s going on?”

I took a deep breath. “Jared was my fiancé. We’re supposed to get married three years ago, but he dumped me three weeks before our wedding day. He sent me a text message telling me we’re over. Who does that, Dean? Who sends a text message to break one’s heart?”

He did not answer but I could feel his body tense as he listened to me. “And the Malta trip?”

“I’ve always wanted to go to Malta ever since I saw it on a postcard. Jared knew it’s my dream destination and so he paid for the trip for our honeymoon. But the wedding did not happen.”

“Yet, you still went there.”

“Yes. I wanted to forget everything. I wanted a reset, and I thought Malta would give me that. Well, it did. I was a changed person after that vacation.”

“How so?”

“It just did.”

He did not probe further, and I am glad he didn’t. There are things I am not ready to share with him and I think he sensed that, too. I don’t know how long we stood there, looking at the darkness of the night, feeling the chilly breeze against our skin, but the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine, and I was kissing him back.

Only Dean has the power to make me forget. The pain Jared brought was now an afterthought and all my body and mind focused on is how soft his lips felt. My arms wound around his neck, pulling him closer to me. I clung to him like a lifesaver. I felt weightless as he lifted me off the ground. He walked towards my car, never breaking our kiss.

My back hit the car’s door as Dean leaned closer to me, pushing his hardness against my softness. He trailed kisses on my neck, making me moan in satisfaction. Like a student diligently following her teacher, I too let my tongue trace his neck. He must have felt the same surge of electricity running down his spine because the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine again and his tongue sought mine. We tasted each other and our hands felt our bodies.

“Dean…” I moaned his name when his hand gently squeezed my breast through my dress.

After a while, Dean opened the back passenger door and slid me in. I was lying on the seat, and he was on top of me, his hands retracing the trail it once traversed three years ago. Each centimeter he touched burned. His hand moved up and down my thigh, sending warmth throughout my body and converging on my center.

“Sky, tell me to stop,” he said, pausing the delicious things he was doing to my body. His burning blue eyes looked into mine, waiting for me to respond.

I pulled his necktie, bringing him closer to me and flicking my tongue on his parted lips. It was the answer he waited for. He tugged on the hem of my dress and in a fluid motion took it off my body.

His eyes looked at my naked upper body, admiring each of my curves. I felt his teeth sink on the base of my chest as he branded me. Throwing all my inhibitions out the window, my hand undid his tie and the buttons of his shirt. After freeing him from his clothes, my hands felt his taut muscles. My lips closed on his nipples, sucking and nibbling them as he did to mine many years ago. Dean gasped at what I was doing and nibbled on my earlobe.

I felt him ease me from the last piece of clothing that covered me. Then his finger parted my lips, teasing my bud before entering me. I writhed in satisfaction. While his finger played with my moist center, his mouth suckled on my breast. I arched my back as I surrendered myself to the pleasure he’s giving me.

His mouth kissed each centimeter of exposed skin, stopping at the mound in between my legs. My eyes rolled at the back of my head when I felt the gentle bite it had on my bud. Then his tongue teased me and tasted me. I lost all control and sense I had.

I watched Dean pleasure me from the middle of my legs. The muscles on his back flexed and relaxed from his every move. Then he lifted his head and his lips connected with mine. He left me for a moment only to free himself from his underwear. My eyes widen at the sight of his hard member. I licked my lips as I remembered how it felt inside me.

Dean entered me in a smooth motion, filling me with his length. Then I felt him move. His thrusts were gentle, yet the pleasure they gave was intense. I met his every move, our bodies rocking to a music only we heard.

I clung to him, for each time I felt a surge of pleasure envelop me. He kissed me and hugged me. We held on to each other as our bodies danced to a rhythm we created. My fingernails dug into his arm as I felt my inside tighten around him. His movements quickened as we both approached our apex.

We screamed at our climax and did not release each other as we caught our breath. I felt Dean’s heartbeat against mine and for the life of me, I never felt secured in my life until now.
