"Really?" Quincy could always see a hint of complication in her eyes.
"I dare not lie in front of you. I promise that if I lie, I will die a terrible death!" Lacey even swore an oath to win his trust.
If Quincy was suspicious of what she said, he hid it well. "However, you have already known my identity. I might not be suitable for you."
Quincy always felt that Lacey had other ideas, so it was better to stay away from her as soon as possible.
However, Lacey would definitely not give up such a good opportunity. No matter how Quincy rejected her, she was determined to score Quincy!
"Mr. Quincy, there is another reason why I am in such a hurry to find a boyfriend. Our family arranged a marriage for me, but I really don't like that man called Dalton at all. Therefore, I have to find a boyfriend so Dalton will give up on me. Mr. Quincy, help me please!"
Half an hour ago, Lacey was still thinking about how to get Dalton to propose to her as soon as possible, but now that she knew Quincy was much richer than Dalton, she immediately "didn't like him at all.".
Lacey saw his hesitation and deliberately squeezed out a few more tears. She even cried a little, "Mr. Quincy, I'm really hopeless now. I know you're a very caring person. Please help me!"
Lacey behaved as if it was real. She was very beautiful and her tears flowed out of her eyes, making her look even more charming.
"Fine then." Quincy's heart softened, and he finally agreed.
"Thank you, Mr. Quincy." Lacey immediately smiled even with tears in her eyes.
"But I have a condition," Quincy thought for a moment and said, "I don't want others to know my identity, including Carlotta."
Quincy didn't want to reveal his identity. It would be quite troublesome if anyone knew.
"No problem!" Lacey agreed.
Actually, Lacey had never thought of telling Carlotta. She knew that her cousin hated being poor and loved being rich. Once she knew that Quincy was actually a super-rich man, she would definitely pester him like herself. Carlotta was in the same school as Quincy, so she would definitely have more chances than herself.
Lacey wouldn't find a love rival for herself, even if she was her cousin.
At the same time, Lacey also felt a little gloating. Her cousin was so close to Quincy, who was super rich, but she didn't know. She even foolishly thought that Quincy was a poor loser.
After they had the agreement, Lacey and Quincy returned to their table one after another.
"You piece of trash. I told you to find the waiter. What was it that took you so long?" Carlotta looked at Quincy with dissatisfaction.
"Carlotta, what are you talking about!" Lacey frowned and glared at Carlotta. Then, she smiled and looked at Quincy, "Sit down please. These fruits and snacks are quite delicious. Try them."
With that, Lacey picked up a pink cherry cake with her chopsticks and placed it on the plate in front of Quincy.
Carlotta teased Lacey and said, "Lacey, you're starting to take care of him now."
Of course, she definitely didn't know that Lacey was treating Quincy well sincerely. She thought that Lacey was only doing this to deceive Quincy.
Carlotta looked at Lacey naughtily, as if she was saying, "You are really good at deceiving people!"
They began to enjoy their snacks and drinks. Carlotta was used to ordering Quincy to do this and that. She either asked him for some tissue or told him to pass the sugar. Anyway, she couldn't let Quincy relax.
When Lacey saw what Carlotta had done, she felt particularly uneasy. Did she know what she was doing? The boy she kept giving orders to had enough wealth for her to live her life 10 times. How could she treat him like a servant?
She was just playing with fire now. If she accidentally pissed Quincy off, she won't even have time to regret it!
After the meal, Carlotta wiped her mouth with a napkin and asked, "Quincy, what do you think of my cousin?"
"She is good," Quincy said indifferently.
Lacey subconsciously felt sweet and even a trace of excitement. Quincy had a good impression on her, so did that mean she was a step closer to her goal?
Carlotta smiled contemptuously. "Stupid. My cousin is so beautiful. You are lucky to be her boyfriend." Although she felt that Lacey was using Quincy, he could be her boyfriend for a few days, so it wasn't a loss. He even took advantage of her!
"You should also know that my cousin is way out of your league. To put it bluntly this time, you are a toad that can eat swan meat. You know it, right?" Carlotta said arrogantly.
After saying that, she even glanced at Lacey proudly!
Look how she had praised Lacey. She had shown him the difference between Lacey and himself. So, it would be much easier for her to get rid of him when the time came. She was helpful. Shouldn't Lacey praise her?
She didn't know that Lacey didn't want that, but had the urge to hit her!
Didn't Carlotta mean to ruin her plan by saying that?
What did she mean by saying Quincy was a toad that could eat the swan meat? If there was a toad, it was Lacey. Quincy was by no means a toad. In fact, he was an eagle soaring in the sky!
As long as she could get Quincy, she would do anything. Even if she had to be his mistress, she would be happy.
Lacey glanced at Carlotta, and her look darkened. "Carlotta, don't talk nonsense."
Carlotta did not understand why Lacey was pissed off. She thought that Lacey wanted to play good cop bad cop so that she could completely control Quincy!
"You are not worthy of my cousin. To be her boyfriend, you should listen to her, and you can't talk back to her. You must let her scold you or hit you if she likes. Do you understand?" Carlotta continued!
Lacey looked even gloomier.
"Even though you're in love with my cousin, that doesn't mean you can paw at her. You can't even hold her hands!"
Carlotta explained to Quincy on her own initiative, since it was definitely inappropriate for Lacey to say such words.
Otherwise, Quincy, a poor loser who had never seen many beauties before, would have thought that he could paw at her if he was her boyfriend. Wouldn't that mean that Lacey would suffer a huge loss?
When Lacey heard this, she was so angry that her blood ran over her head and her face turned red.
If they couldn't hold hands, how could she develop a real relationship with Quincy? She was eager to sleep with him if necessary. Wasn't Carlotta deliberately looking for trouble?
"Alright, Carlotta. Stop talking nonsense. I'm looking for a boyfriend, not a servant. How can it be as serious as you said?" Lacey sounded very unhappy.
However, Carlotta did not realize that Lacey was angry at this moment. She was still talking endlessly, "Although you are Lacey's boyfriend, she still has her privacy and the right to choose happiness again!"
"What do you mean?" Quincy asked indifferently.
"You're such a pig, I'll tell you."
Carlotta scolded him in a mocking tone and said matter-of-factly, "Lacey has her own freedom when she falls in love with you. If she meets an interested man, she can try to date him. Sometimes, in front of you, she can hug and kiss another man. You can't say anything. Even if she breaks up with you in the future, you must agree without complaints."
Carlotta was very clear about the reason why Lacey wanted Quincy to pretend to be her boyfriend. In the future, she would definitely date Dalton. It was better to explain this matter clearly to Quincy as soon as possible, so that this loser would be able to accept losing such a beautiful girlfriend and do nothing too extreme!
Quincy narrowed his eyes and said, "You mean that I'm in love with your cousin. I can't touch your cousin at all, but other men can hug or even kiss her. Even if I see her, I can't say anything."
Carlotta smiled and said, "You're finally enlightened. That's right, that's what I meant."
...
Lacey couldn't help but slap Carlotta in the face.
The others in the shop also turned to look at Lacey's table.
Yes, Lacey was anxious.
She couldn't bear it anymore. When she heard Carlotta say that she wouldn't treat Quincy as a person and even humiliated Quincy, Lacey was so nervous that she felt like she was going to die.
