Meet Again
Meet Again
A week passed on but Evans never heard news about Nathan, and he also didn't go find him.
It was so difficult for him but he knew he was a man and he couldn't let this keep affecting his mental state of mind. He had learned to keep his feelings in his heart and show the opposite of what he was feeling.
Every day, he took a taxi from his granny’s home to college, and it has been peaceful so far with only one person always taunting him with words—Megan, just like this moment.
They both walked on the road, Evans was going to resume back at the clinic where he worked, while Megan was going to who knows where.
“Did Nathan call you today?” She asked in a mocking tone, but this time she wouldn't be getting any reaction from him as he had gotten too used to this.
“Why? Do you need him? Or have you fallen in love with him?” Evans asked in a clap back, he looked at her so calmly and indifferently.
“Ewww…Fall in love with that person?! It's better if I don't kill him, so how can I fall in love with him?” Megan said, then sneaked a glance at Evans’ face.
She heaved a sigh of relief and felt happy about his change. In the last few days, Evans would always react to her words whenever he heard that person's name.
“Well…Someone was so confident that he could replace that heartless man’s moonlight but it seems, the moonlight won instead.” She mocked and then laughed out loud.
Evans' eyes narrowed dangerously, they got to a corner and he suddenly stopped and turned to Megan who was still laughing mockingly.
“What do you mean by taunting me every day? What are you trying to achieve, Megan?” He asked coldly and indifferently.
He couldn't understand why his best friend had become like this, it had always been fine between them both but now their relationship had become toxic since the day she had called him a Male slut.
Megan paused and looked back at him, her heart began pounding against her ribs as she looked at his face up close, her fist secretly clenched.
Why was she doing this? Yes! Why was she doing this? She also didn't know, but… She just can't watch as he gets together with Nathan. If Evans can't be with her, then he mustn't be with anyone!
She knew she had slowly become what she had always chided Evans for, but she couldn't help it. She was a stubborn person and when she decided on something, she would never change from it.
She swallowed and broke their eye contact, “The Reason why I'm doing this? I think you should know in your heart, Evans.” Megan said, took a step closer to him, then said aloud, “Nathan doesn't love you and wouldn't come looking for you. Give up!”
Evans froze, his heart beat raced, his fist clenched and his eyes widened in shock. He wasn't shocked because of what Megan had said, but from the person who had appeared in front of him.
“Nathan..?” He whispered dazedly with his eyes fixed on the man walking towards him in large strides.
Megan froze when she heard his whisper, she sneered, “Nathan wouldn't—” She paused as her eyes widened when she saw the man who had appeared next to them out of nowhere.
“Are you done playing around?!” Nathan’s cold voice sounded followed by his chilly and suffocating aura that made them go weak.
Nathan looked at Evans whom he hadn't seen in days, his heart boiled as he remembered how he had waited for him to call him and tell him he regretted and wanted to come back.
He had waited for long and had given him time, but this heartless boy hadn't called once.
He had tried to stop himself from looking for him, he had tried to stay around Jesse, but he still couldn't help but feel angry at the thought of Evans being the one who dumped him.
“Only I can dump him and not the other way around!”
Evans looked at Nathan who had pushed Megan to the side and cornered him. He swallowed, his heart was beating too fast, he was in disbelief, he couldn't understand why the man he had been thinking of had suddenly appeared in front of him.
“You—” He paused, then frowned when Nathan locked his hands up.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Evans cried out in pain from being locked tightly.
“Are you done playing around? How dare you leave without a word?!” Nathan roared angrily, then continued, “Only I am allowed to dump people, not the other way around, do you understand?!”
Evans felt confused, his heart which had raised at first suddenly calmed down and he regained his clarity.
“I thought as much.” He chuckled at his thought.
“It wasn't because he missed me but because I hurt his ego.” He mumbled to himself, then let out a low laugh.
His eyes turned cold, and he suddenly exerted force and turned around as he threw Nathan’s hands off.
He looked at him coldly, “What do you mean by all this, Ceo Nathan?” He asked calmly, then swung his hand as it felt painful.
Nathan looked at him with burning eyes.
“You can't just claim anyone you see on the street. I don't know you!” Evans continued with the same cold voice.
Nathan looked at him, then suddenly sneered, “Then let's get to know each other again—” His words cut short as he had already smashed his lips on Evan’s.
As both kissed, none of them saw the light that flashed on them.
