Chapter 96 Chapter 96
Celine's POV:
Five years later:
It hasn't been easy for me living in this Banana Island with my son, Kaleb.
After I came here, it was a bit difficult for me. But I bought an apartment and also hired a nanny to help me take care of Kaleb too.
I bought a shop and opened a restaurant, as it has always been my dream to open a restaurant here in Banana Island.
In the first year, my Restaurant wasn't booming, but after I added my magic touch and also, cooked delicious meals, my Restaurant became number one, and many people touring and visiting Banana Island often recommended people to come to my Restaurant.
I moved away from the small shop that I owned and purchased a big building and had it called, Ann's Restaurant.
Yes, I stuck by the new name that I had been using.
For the past five years, my life had been peaceful, where I wouldn't have to think of my twin sister or my parents wanting me to be like Clara.
My son was my happiness, and we have been living our lives peacefully.
Kaleb Mason was a smart little boy, and he had a lot of girlfriends at his young age, as most children think of him as a girl.
My son was cute, as he has blonde locks and also a pretty face, but I ensure to dress him as a boy to avoid confusion.
Well, it was a bright Monday morning, and as I am the top Chef of my Restaurant, I made preparations to visit my Restaurant, since I now had staff working for me. I didn't have to be there as early as I did with my old shop to make the dishes ready.
I had staff who work for me, and they also followed the routine of the food ingredients, time, and pacing that they had to use in cooking the meals to be made available at my restaurant.
As I got out of the bed, I set off to have my bath, as my son was on holiday. He has vacated from school, but Kaleb wouldn't stop asking me about his grandparents and relatives.
"Mom!" My son, Kaleb Mason, burst into my room. He was four years plus, but he was very smart.
"Mom, when are you going to take me home to see my Daddy and my grandparents?" Kaleb asked, as he strolled up to my bed to meet me.
Kaleb was wearing a white pajamas and also his little slippers.
"Kaleb, I already told you that I am not taking you to your Dad, so you cannot see him. It's not important to know who your Daddy is," I said, as I sat on the bed and peered at my son's frowned face.
"But my classmates have Daddies. Why do I not have a Daddy? Is he dead?" Kaleb asked, but I shook my head.
I would have lied to my son that his father was dead, but I didn't want to lie to him. What if he gets to meet Jace one day?
"No, Kaleb. Your daddy isn't dead. He is a big man, and he has many sports cars and houses. Your dad is like a king," I told my son as I caressed his hair.
"Then why don't you want him to see me? Doesn't he know that I am his son? Am I a bastard?" Kaleb asked, his face looked shattered and broken, and I gasped.
"No! Who told you that you are a bastard?" I asked Kaleb when I saw tears in his blue eyes.
"My jealous friends at school said that I am a bastard and I don't have a Daddy. Is that true, Mom?" He cried in my arms, but I shook my head.
"Boys don't cry. Be a strong boy for Mommy, okay. You are not a bastard, and you have a Daddy," I told my son as I wiped off his tears.
"Are you sure, Mom? What's his social media name? Let me see his photo? I want to see what my Daddy looks like? Do I resemble him?" Kaleb asked, peering at my face eagerly to hear my response.
"No. You look like me. Don't you see that's why you have many girls crushing on you? You shouldn't worry. When you have grown bigger, I will give you your Daddy's address, and you can go and see him. He will welcome you." I carried my son as I moved over to the window of my apartment to gaze out.
It was a floor-to-ceiling window, and the view was spectacular.
"Are you sure, Mom? Or are you lying to me? You don't have any friends, and I cannot find out who are your relatives online? What are their names?" Kaleb asked, and I smiled.
"You don't have to search for them. There are many people with your name and mine online, and you cannot know our relatives by searching for them. They hurt me, and that's why I took you away from them. So that no one will hurt you, okay? Mom will keep you safe until you are strong enough to challenge them. Then you can go and see them if you wish," I caressed my son's cheek, and he calmed in my arms and rested his head on my shoulder.
"I just want to see my Daddy. That will make me happy that I really have a dad. Even if he is dead or lost. I want to see his face," Kaleb protested, and I sighed.
"Don't worry. Once you are five years old, I will show you your Daddy's photo. I promise," I told my son, and his face lit up.
"Really? Thank you, Mom. I know that you don't want to show me, but I'll grow up faster to see what my Daddy looks like," Kaleb said with so much enthusiasm, and I smiled.
"Good boy. Come and have your bath. We are going to my Restaurant today, and I have a lot of work to do," I said to my son, and he smiled.
"Alright, Mom."
Once Kaleb and I were done bathing, I dressed up in similar outfits, as I ensure to sew ready-made wears for my son and myself.
While I donned a blue native dress and black shoes, Kaleb wore a blue top and blue trousers and his black shoes too.
"Kaleb, I will be very busy today, and I don't want you wandering around or speaking to strangers. Stay in my office, okay. You know that these days, people easily get kidnapped," I said, and Kaleb nodded.
"I promise you, Mom. I won't go anywhere again. I always look out to know if I will see my Daddy. But since you already promised to show me, I won't go anywhere," Kaleb said, and I looked at him in shock.
"Don't worry. Be a good boy and obey your Mom, and you will get to see your Daddy," I assured my son once we finished dressing up.
I grabbed my handbag and set off to have breakfast with my son.
I had a small red car, as I ensured to purchase a car with my money. I was doing well, and many top-notch companies come to my Restaurant to patronize me, both those on business deals and also those on romantic dates.
I hadn't been in any relationship, and it wasn't like I don't get romantic proposals from men, but I wanted to prioritize my son and myself.
After Kaleb and I were done with our breakfast, we set off to leave the house for work.
As we got into my car, just as Kaleb sat in the rear, in his special car seat, I reminded him to fasten his seatbelt. Then I buckled mine and drove out of the beautiful estate where we live with other tenants.
As I arrived at my Restaurant, I drove my car in there and parked it. But I was taken aback by a man who stood there, looking at me intensely.
My heart skipped a beat when I met his gaze. He was Edwin Hugo, Jace's best friend.
"Damn it," I grumbled and hastily looked away from him as he parked his car at the parking of my restaurant.
Surprisingly, he opened his car door, and a young boy dressed in a blue top and black denim trousers got out of the car.
I was taken aback because the boy looked so much like Edwin. I remembered Jace has mentioned that Edwin has a child out of wedlock. The boy was around 6-7 years old and taller than my son, and they walked ahead to the entrance of my restaurant to meet me and Kaleb.
