Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight

Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight
Jayce

I am meeting my brothers for dinner. Rose is away with the girls for the night in a hotel for a quiet bachelorette night. This is mine: a quiet one with good food, good company, and a couple of drinks. We fly out to Loch Lomond in one week, and we get married in two. The last couple of months have come so quickly. Another reason we are out is to celebrate the good news that Joshua and Penelope are expecting a baby, which they announced a few days ago. Apparently, Rose already knew since Remi and Tanner’s wedding, but Penelope made her promise not to say anything, and she didn’t, not even to me.

“I can’t believe I am going to be a daddy. I am so excited. We both are.”

They are going to be incredible parents.

“Yes, congratulations. You are going to make incredible parents.” I smile, raising my glass, and we all clink our glasses together.

“Thank you. This year has been so crazy with everything that’s been going on. All good, of course.” Joshua beams.

“Talking about changes. I think I am going to propose to Maria after the wedding while we are still in Scotland.” Tate smiles.

“Really? I never thought I would see the day when all of us would be married.” Tanner chuckles.

“Yes, it is the right time. I love her. I don’t want to be with anyone else.” Tate replies.

“I am happy for you, little brother. I never thought I would see the day, especially you, Tanner.” I tease.

All my brothers look at one another and then at me. “Tanner? Really? The person no one expected to get married was you, Jayce.” Joshua chuckles.

I went to argue, but changed my mind because they are right. I thought I would never want to get married. I was happy being single. Well, I thought I was until I met Rose, and everything changed.

“Good point, but that was before Rose showed up at the club that night, all shy and flustered.” I chuckle.

I will never forget the way she used to be around me. Now, she is like some Goddess who can make me drop to my knees for her. I never thought the inexperienced, shy, blushing mess that was Rose when I first met her would be the same woman who makes me whipped. She really has come a long way in the best way possible. I may miss how submissive she was at the start, but she still has the role, she doesn’t make it as easy for me like she used to. I wouldn’t have her any other way. I like the confidence she has now.

“I remember that. She was in complete awe and couldn’t look at you for longer than a second before she needed to turn away.”

“Yes, and now she is the one who has Jayce all weak.” Tate teases.

“Yes, she does, and I am not ashamed to admit. Like, I am the only one whose woman makes him like that. You are all the same.” I chuckle, pointing between them all.

They can try to deny it, but it is true. Our women broke us, but in the best way possible. They all nod in agreement, and we cheer to that, too.

“Do you have a ring, little brother?” I ask.

“Not yet, but I am going to look at some tomorrow. Please don’t say anything. I want it to be a surprise. Maria won’t be expecting it. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to do it than in Loch Lomond.

“It is the perfect place.”

Scotland will become a place filled with happy memories for all our family.

“Right by the Loch.” He smiles.

“I nearly proposed to Rose for a second time while we were there. It really is such a beautiful place. A plan that will have good memories for us all.”

“Yes. I think once the baby is here, Penelope and I want a proper wedding. We have worked out the details, but we want to think it over. I wish I had given her the day she deserved. I wouldn’t change the fact that we are married now, but I wish we had done it right, but there was so much going on back then.” Joshua sighs.

“Then you should. Everything is okay now. You have no reason not to have a wedding. Even something small just with us, the girls and the parents.” I smile.

It is understandable why they did it at the time. Things with our parents weren’t great, but it has all changed now.

“I think we will.”

They deserve a proper wedding like everyone else. It would be another wedding to look forward to.

“You really should.” Tanner agrees.

“So, are any of you planning babies any time soon? Or does my little one need to grow up alone?” he chuckles.

“Sorry, Rose and I have no plans for a family for a few years yet.”

“Same, a couple of years for us,” Tanner adds in.

“We haven’t really talked about it.” Tate smiles.

He rolls his eyes and waggles his finger at us, laughing. “You all suck.”

“I am sure you will be fine.” I chuckle, shaking my head.

We all focused our attention on the menus and finally ordered what we wanted. We all ordered the same thing, steak. The conversation turns back to weddings and babies. I never thought I would see the day this would be the topic of conversation between us. We have all grown up.

“To new beginnings, weddings and babies,” Tate says as we all toast again.

I smile at the thought and take out my cell to text Rose, since she is on my mind.

Hey, pretty eyes, I wanted to see how your night is going. Xx

She will be home tomorrow afternoon.

Hello, my love. It is good. We are having fun with some sexy strippers ;) How is your night? Xx

Strippers? No one mentioned anything about strippers! I thought it was a quiet night of dinner, drinks and staying in a hotel room?

What do you mean by strippers? Are there strippers there? Xx

Jealousy takes over me.

No, I am joking. The only ones here are us girls. I am sorry, I couldn’t help myself from saying that. I was curious about what you would say xx

The little brat! I can’t believe I fell for it.

You are mean! We are having a good night too, quiet xx

Sorry, my love. I will call you later before I go to sleep. I love you xx
I love you too xx

I chuckle, shaking my head.

“What?” Tanner asks.

“Rose just told me they have strippers when they don’t really. She just wanted to mess with me.”

Tanner laughs loudly and shakes his head. “Nice! She knows all the right buttons to press.”

I nod in agreement. “She does and sometimes way too easily.”

I wouldn’t change it. I am used to it. If there were strippers, she would have told before they went. It wouldn’t bother me, well, maybe it would, but Rose wouldn’t do that to me, just like I wouldn’t do that to her.
