21. Zia's POV - Popsicle In The Car

21. Zia's POV - Popsicle In The Car
Gina is her Silver Goth Wolf

A light tap on my shoulder followed by the feeling of cement bags on my head as I raised it.

“Zia? Ah! I knew it was you.”

“Cain?” I called out, my throat feeling drier than the Sahara.

“Yes, of course it’s me,” he said excitedly, smiles on his innocent face as he jumped around before finally taking a seat beside me.

Somehow, the bus stop managed to be desolate thanks to the fact that everyone was already at their schools and workplaces.

Talking about school… I frowned slightly as I raised my hand to cover the side of my face that the sun was beating.

“Why aren’t you in school yet? You’ll be late,” I said as I noticed his uniform.

“Of course, but does it matter? No one dares to scold me anyway. Now, you tell me why you aren’t in school yet,” he said and I sighed, bringing my bag to my thigh to hold as if it would offer me any comfort.

“Oh, nothing, I just…” I paused when I realized I would have to explain to him the story of my life if I told him about what transpired this morning.

A narration I’m certain he wouldn’t understand, because I myself was still in confusion. So instead, I said, “I got a ride to this place, but they were going elsewhere so I was dropped here.”

“You could have taken the bus or a cab then,” he shook his head, and for a moment I wondered just how far his insensitivity would go.

“Come, I’ll give you a ride,” he said as he grabbed my wrist and headed to his car only to drop it halfway and turn around with a frown. “You are burning up, what’s up?” he asked, so I postponed my fainting at that moment to explain.

“I think I have a fever, I was caught in the rain yesternight.”

“Didn’t Terri take you home? I saw you,” he started, but I just shook my head instead of explaining.

“Can we get in the car now? The sun is making me feel really dizzy.”

“Oh sure,” he hurried to open the door in front and I sat.

“Oh thank Goddess, I found you,” he said as he handed me an ice pack to place on my forehead.

I took it gratefully but dropped it the next second.

“Too cold,” I yelped as he leaned over me. Our eyes met, but mine started to blur in vision until the car suddenly jerked backwards, calling my consciousness back.

“Hey.” It felt like I was getting dropped from a high building, so I held on to his shirt desperately.

“I will help you recline the chair for a bit so you can rest while the ice pack does its job. You are a werewolf, how could you have a fever after getting under the rain?” he seemed to be asking—or maybe complaining.

I couldn’t hear the rest of what he said anymore as he placed the ice pack and strapped the seatbelt for me.

That had to be what he was doing, because once again, I started to feel myself drift into the void.

By the time I opened my eyes again, it was to the sound of the bell being wrung.

I fluttered my eyes open and it didn’t take me too long to adjust, because one—I was in the dark, and my eyesight was the only werewolfy thing about me.

I could see just as well as any other werewolf, be it in the dark or during the day.

So I tried to understand my surroundings.

“You’re awake,” Cain’s voice sounded to my left and I turned to see him staring at me.

I felt my forehead as I remembered what transpired after breakfast.

He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, then closed it to resume smiling at me.

I didn’t need to ask to know that he had stayed by my side all through.

My forehead was warm and I no longer felt as feverish, thanks to the blanket draped on my body. I was curious—but not enough to ask him why he had an ice pack or blanket or dark curtains in his car.

It was obviously lunch break, which meant I’d missed the first half of school.

I had to hurry up, find notes to make up for it.

So I unstrapped my seatbelt and removed the blanket.

“Thank you so much for all this Cain, I’m really, really grateful,” I said, noticing how clearer my voice sounded in my ears.

Good health—oh how I missed you.

He leaned over, so close that I could feel his body heat on mine, then brought his hand to the other side, caging me in.

What was he trying to do? I suddenly felt alert, which was weird, because if he was going to hurt me, then he would’ve done so while I was at the verge of death, so I decided to wait it out as patiently as I could manage.

I held my breath as his hand brushed my hip with his firm arms. A gasp escaped my lips as I felt myself getting raised up.

I should be relieved that it was all he set to do—after all, he had wordlessly let it down so I could sleep through the ride and all through my morning classes as well—but my heart wouldn’t settle. Even Gina stirred somewhere inside.

“What are you doing?” I asked breathlessly when his gaze wouldn’t leave my face even after he’d brought the seat back up.

At this point, my chest and stomach were pressed firmly into his, but he didn’t seem to mind.

However, it was making me feel uncomfortable.

After sweating so hard as my fever broke, I just wanted to take a warm breath then sleep for the rest of the day.

“I’m helping you up,” he smiled as his eyes flickered to mine before returning down again. Then the tingling sensation buzzed on my lips as I registered that he’d been looking there all along.

I felt shy and wanted to cover up, hide the lips so maybe he would get off me.

I bit my lower lip first but released it as soon as his orange eyes met mine for a brief second.

I gulped in fright as something jumped in my throat. The shade of emerald green his eyes reflected took me back to that night of the mating ceremony and my stomach did a somersault.

But when I thought he would do something, he returned back to his seat and chuckled to himself. That laugh sent shivers of fright through me.

Cain. Innocent and cute Cain made me feel fear. It was ironic, given how he had just helped me with my fever. But every cell in me needed to get away from him at this moment.

Even Gina didn’t feel excited in the sight of her mate in heat.

My hand grabbed the door and I wanted to push it open when I heard four simultaneous clicks.

He’d just locked the door.

My eyes returned to meet his. They were back to their usual grey, but that didn’t calm me down.

“I’m late for class, Cain, I…”

“It’s lunch break, you can stay here for a few minutes. Plus no one would know,” he said as he held my wrist. This time my temperature was back to normal—or at least close—so he didn’t drop it, but still, I couldn’t do this.

“What do you mean?” I asked, weary as my eyes darted around. I wanted to snatch my wrist from his hold and just bolt out of here, but I was pretty much the only werewolf that couldn’t break the door handle of a car.

“You know what I mean, Zia. Don’t pretend,” he threw his hand in the air, a sign of frustration and anger I’d seen Terri exhibit. I gulped.

“You licked your lips, because you knew I was looking. Your mouth belonged to me—we agreed that night, didn’t we?” He stared at me, the cuteness in his features mocking me.

He was supposed to look the anger he exuded, but even I was almost fooled by how round his eyes were.

It would only rile him up further if I beat around the bush like before, so I decided to plead with him instead—because there’s no way in hell or on earth that I was giving him a blowjob right now.

“Look, you misunderstood the signs. Plus I haven’t recovered from my fever. I don’t want to make you sick too,” I said, hoping he would buy my reason.

“Sick? Even if ordinary werewolves might fall susceptible to cancer, do you think that I, an Alpha—the third Alpha of the greatest werewolf pack—would fall sick from an ordinary fever? There is nothing to worry about, Zia. Except you didn’t mean what you said earlier.” That smile was still on his face while mine contorted in a frown.

Not only had he twisted my words, but the ball was still in his court and I was still very much locked in his car.

I felt like a prey caught in its predator’s snare rather than the mate of an Alpha in this situation.

“What are you talking about?” I asked as I rummaged through my brain for what he was referencing.

“You said you were thankful and you felt better—wasn’t that all thanks to me?” I nodded, wondering why he was calling the favor and my gratitude in such a situation.

“Good, then show it. This,” he placed my palm on his burning hot crotch and held my jaw to face him with his other hand, “is the only way you can say thank you, if you mean it.”

“I meant it, but…”

“Then no argument,” he took out his cock and that was when it dawned on me that he had removed the zipper and button a long time ago—maybe even when I was asleep—then waited for me to wake up so he could goad me into satisfying him.

I wondered if I would have still gotten in his car if I knew it would end up like this, but when I remembered how sick I was earlier, I decided to stop the comparison. I was too sick to think up another option back then—plus he was right. This is the only way I could thank him.

“Okay,” I mustered my strength, packed my hair into a bun then tied it for extra firmness before forcing a smile and looking at him. “I will show you how grateful I am.”

“Oh, I really love it when you smile at me like that,” he swiped his thumb across my lower lip like he was wiping a stain, but the strength he administered made me fear for my teeth.

My smile widened, as I climbed onto the chair with my knees, then bent forward to grab a hold of his balls, juggling them and enjoying the hiss of his arousal before taking the tip of his cock and sucking it like a popsicle.
